That's our only hope, bouncing back straight away to inject some belief into the fanbase with a good season - albeit in the third tier.

I think you might struggle to challenge next year if you go down. You've got a lot of high earners you'll need to get rid of, add in your better players being picked off by teams in this league and I can't see nothing but a midtable finish.

Don't get me wrong, I agree, but there's always hope we'll do what Wolves did (and arguably Wigan and now Bolton) and have a great season and bounce back.

Shows how far we came with that good spell that we can lose 3-1 and it not effect the mood of my Saturday what so ever. Hopefully Lambert has learnt that spell is due to Costa and Cavaleiro. Still not sure what I think on Lambert, if he was removed end of season I wouldn't moan or care at all really.
Yeah, I think 'meh' would be the best way to sum him up. Nowt special, but not bad either. Did well to keep us in the PL for 2 years in retrospect, mind you. Think he'd have just about kept us up in his third too, as Sherwood did.

You'd be up there, my worry for you isn't the players because those not good enough in the Championship will be world beaters in L1, it's mainly the off the pitch problems that you have along with Mowbray's questionable management skills. However like I said Bolton have serious off the pitch problems and they've done just fine. However they made a savvy appointment in Parkinson. We have the basis of a squad that should be up there despite some leaving, but it all depends on who we appoint as manager. Praying it's a Jackett or Cotterill rather than an Atkins or Powell.

Yeah my issue is I don't really feel like he has a plan, it's great that he has involved some of the youngsters, he started a very promising 17 y/o today for example and has been quite brave in his inclusion or use of others, which is great. However so far I've felt he has been too random with his selections. I am willing to ignore the bollocks he talks as if given the choice think most managers would totally get rid of the press side of management if they could.

Huh. Odd, he pretty much refused to use Grealish, and considering he had his best time in a Villa shirt following his departure (we won't speak of him since....), he was proven wrong there. Liked signing weird players, I know he didn't have much to spend, but the likes of Bowery, Joe Cole, Senderos, Richardson, Sylla, Helenius and Tonev were baffling.

Does he still give the same press conference every week when things aren't going well? Basically... 'We go again'.

Perhaps he had a good record in the transfer market with Norwich, I don't know. He signed Benteke, so there's that... To put it into perspective there are only 6 of his 24 (not including Holman, as he was McLeish's signing) signings still at the club, 2 of whom are out on loan who we're (apparently) trying to get rid of (Gil + Sanchez), one who is out of contract at the end of the season and has precisely zero chance of getting a new contract (Kozak), one who is third choice left back (Cissokho), one who is in and out of the side (Bacuna), and the final is our third choice keeper (Steer) of the ones still at the club (so, not including Gollini). Not a great record, let's be honest.

Bolton seem to be the exception though and their problems slightly different to Blackburn's.

The clubs with the barmy owner's don't seem to fair so well. Blackpool went straight to L2, Coventry look set to be joining them, looks like we've just done enough to stay up this year.

To be honest I believe your season has come down to awful management. You actually recruited alright in the summer, Jason Pearce was a cracking signing. But you had the awful Russell Slade in charge and now Karl Robinson who I've always believed is a fraud. By the way off topic rumour is Robinson has already been trying to convince his old pal Grigg to join you lot in the summer.

Would you be that arsed about Grigg leaving? Good in L1 ain't he.

Not really, Bogle's better and there's no way we'll have be able to keep both with each of them wanting to be the first name on the team sheet. Grigg only has a year left on his contract so it makes sense to cash in, big season for him next year mind with the World Cup coming up. He needs to pick his next move very carefully.

Yeah he had a spell of saying how great we had been even when dreadful, not just manager cliche but sounded fully like he believed that. He also seemed to make decisions on players too like you mentioned with Grealish, Prince Oniagnue farmed off straight to France where he was getting good reviews (although not checked recently) despite having shown promise under Zenga, also seems to hate Roman Saiss and plays inferior midfielders ahead of him. Dominic Iorfa seems to have vanished under him too.

Shows you how shit the teams below you are...
Although - I think we will turn you over at your place. We are playing well if not winning games

Sorry lads, appears our keeper had a bet on the outcome of the match tonight.

Looks like Wigan have some fight in them but too late?

Nick Powell has been out for a while - guess they have missed him.

Rather irritating. Could've pretty much written Wigan off had they failed to win tonight.

By all accounts they were shite against us and only won because our keeper gifted them two goals, the referee awarded the softest penalty in the world and then disallowed an "equaliser" for nothing. I think they'll still go down.

Wigans run in looks horrible. Tonight was a must win, and by hook or by crook they did.
They live to fight another day.

The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short, but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark. - P. Heckingbottom.

Sorry Blackburn, Bristol, Burton. Nick Powell's decided that we're staying up and two of you have to go down instead...

Why post bullshit when you clearly never attended the match? As shite as we were against Rotherham last week, we were a lot better tonight, dominated throughout and it would have been a travesty had we not won that. Two goals from Kent getting onto long balls and that was all Barnsley did for the first 80 minutes.

Your right back should have seen red for a number of fouls despite being on a last warning, your left back somehow escaped with a yellow with a high studs up challenge. Then we should have had a penalty when bizarrely your number 5 grabbed hold of Burns foot on the floor, then got up and raised his hands to Burn which should have been a red. You got away with absolute murder.

Really not sure what was up with the Barnsely players tonight but calling them thugs would be too kind, just wanted to fight rather than play football. That little prick Scowen at the end was an embarrassment.

Referees need to stamp out shit house tackles.

Nice try but no cigar. I mean if you're not going to do it properly then why bother?
