Coming to Elland Road - one of the more plausible places to get an away win - and try hold out for 0-0 from minute one rings alarm bells for me.

Lose again on Saturday and you'll all start to panic!

After a handful of games? As last season showed it's a long season far to early to panic.

Unless you're a Burton, PNE, Rotherham, Wigan, Blackburn or Cardiff fan, you might as well leave the thread. It's starting to be become obvious that three of the above clubs will go down. Early days but the table is shaping up down the bottom now and those six clubs will make up the dogfight.

I'd be inclined to agree with that. We've got all the endeavour in the world but, despite the fact that we've scored the most out of the bottom 10 teams in the table I don't believe we've got the goals in us to keep us out of the battle. Most of our goals have come from midfield with one coming from a forward. That can see you through in league one and league two but that threat will get snuffed out quite quickly in the championship. That's no slight on the manager because he's done what he can with the resources he's got.

I'd just add one team to that list. QPR. Got a funny feeling about them this season and if I'm honest I think Hasselbaink will be found out. It might seem like sour grapes but with the benefit of hindsight I'm happy with how things turned out.

If we go down - we go down. We have low expectations anyway. I don't see us finishing bottom or cutting cut adrift though - and even yesterday with 5 players out we still took Brighton to the 89th minute and a stupid penalty to lose the game, so I know we can compete.
Derby won't be bottom six.

No disrespect to the teams mentioned and I don't think any will be cut adrift yet. I just think it's becoming obvious how the division is shaping out and every team mentioned have relegation tendencies. One thing I do find interesting is that out of those six clubs, five of them could have a managerial switch before Christmas which could change things for the better or worse! Only Burton will 100% keep their manager until May whatever happens.

Burton - Small squad, already have injuries, it's a long season ahead...
Rotherham - Same problem they always have, just a poor squad that doesn't really cut it in this league.
PNE - Don't score enough goals, and another poor squad for this league.
Wigan - Can't defend, inexperienced manager possibly out of his depth? Grigg could leave in January.
Blackburn - Terrible manager, club's relationship with fans at an all time low, do the players care enough?
Cardiff - Manager clearly out of his depth, and a bang average squad. Don't score enough, concede many.

QPR are like Derby for me, squad is just too good to be down there, JFH will be sacked anyway if they get anywhere near the bottom three.

Not all of them, no. Although I have to say, yesterday seemed like the vast majority of players cared; was a far superior performance to the Fulham game. Still changes nothing though #VenkysOut #CoyleOut.

We had the same number of points at this stage last season so I won't be soiling my undies just yet.

At this moment in time I don't think we'll go down, a few more results like saturday and I might change my mind though. Our lack of goals and not having a proper right back again now Vermijl's injured is a big worry though.

Yeah, it's not going to be a walk in the park and we won't get near last season's position but I think we will be clear of the pack come the end of the season. Too early to predict anything with much confidence though.

I see Blackburn and Rotherham finding it hard to keep the ball out of the goal and we can't for the life of us score goals.

Cardiff and Wigan are also showing signs that they could be in trouble.

It's a big weekend coming up - Derby v Blackburn, Preston v Wigan, Rotherham v Cardiff.

Now we've found the greatest centre-back who's ever lived, we can move into the mid-table thread I think (until January at least when we'll either have to pay up or let him go).

Honestly starting to believe Uncle Dave pissed off some gypsy in Barbados years back and she put a curse on the club. We just do not do boring midtable seasons.
