Happy we dont have to play Morecambe, Accrington and Franchise again next season. Nothing enjoyable about any of those teams for away fans. Grim grounds and even grimmer football.

I'm glad we don't have to go to Accrington next season. We always reserve the most abject performance for that ground!

I almost, but not quite, felt sorry for the players and supporters of MK today (I'll get over it soon- I certainly still hate the club and the owners).

They totally dominated a poor Burton side, had 31 shots, but the ball just refused to go in. No idea at all how it didn't. The supporters were a credit, not shutting up from well before kick off until well after the end of the game, even when they knew that they had gone down.

We’ve had a shit season but today was superb and the way the team dug in over the last six weeks or so really was impressive. We took 4 wins from the first 7 games and 5 from the last 9. In the middle we won 4 in 30 which is mindblowingly bad.

Commiserations to Dons and Morecambe. Dons battered Burton today and were so unlucky not to win. I don’t feel sorry for them across the season as we were robbed of points at our game there which would have made today irrelevant but they were worth the win from what I’ve seen today.

I’ll worry about next season in a few weeks time. For now, I’m just going to sup my beer and consider those last few weeks a job well done.

Get in there, you U’s.

We were so poor today - but then, lately we have been decent so won’t be too hard on them given we finished well clear.
Not sure how they did not win that.

Bit harsh there Trappy.
Le Stade des Franchises fair enough, but Accy and Morecambe not too bad (in their quaint non-league way). At least there's plenty of local liquid hospitality within easy distance
I'll actually miss the Vegans even less. Despite them being relatively local. A village with barely a normal-type pub, and that bloody mountain to climb to get to their school playing field of a ground. And, unless you are a Quornburger addict, catering to (literally) die for.

So we've replaced Morecambe with Blackpool, Accrington with Wigan, Argyle with Reading, FGR with Stevenage, Ipswich with Orient and possibly MK with Northampton so far.
Meh.

Just seeing the highlights from the MK game how did they not score on that goalmouth scramble? Think that right there is a sign it wasn’t meant to be for them. We had that similar feeling when we got relegated at Fleetwood when De Freitas spooned one over the bar when the whole of the goal was open for him.

Injury time wasn’t it?

That's revenge for Wembley, Morecambe
Not particularly classy that.

Not the fans fault whatever’s happened and I’m sure any Morecambe supporters on here don’t deserve to have relegation rubbed in their faces.

Commiserations to all the fans of the teams relegated.

Agreed, I'd forgotten about that. It was 16 years ago and a lot has happened since then, most if it good.

I'll miss the 14 points from those games though. Just need to work out a way of getting something from Burton and Cheltenham

You beat us in the final 12 months later anyway so was hardly like the defeat cost you several years in non league anyway. Like erm us…..!

Well done Cambridge, incredible effort to stay up from the position you found yourselves in really to claw that back, must of been hell the last minutes waiting on MK!

Good luck to Morecambe, MK and Accrington in league two, Accrington have done a phenomenal job lasting five years at this level with the budget they have, won’t miss another trip there where we always seem to end up hanging out our laundry!

Great effort by Morecambe to stay in it until the end, another remarkable job from them to get up here in the first place so to have done two seasons especially with some instability off field is credit to Adams and his squad.

MK will be a tough one to take after play offs last season but should be strong in League Two, all be it a competitive league. Granted they are not liked for obvious reasons but their fans are mostly sound on here and it wasn’t their fault so don’t like to see the gloating about it personally. The club yes but not their fans.

Also wish FGR all the best, decent posters on here and the forum will be less without them, been a tough and harsh lesson on the challenges at the level but hopefully makes them better for it and they can try and bounce back next season. Had some great battles on the pitch in recent seasons and will feel odd not having those next season.

One thing that always makes me chuckle up and down the leagues at this stage of the season is fans hugging and celebrating with the same players they've slagged off and shouted obscenities at for the last 9 months.
