Can't say I'm too surprised at Plymouths poor start to the season considering who left in the summer and whose come in.

We looked fairly strong against West Brom with Bulvitis at the back. How did he play today? Did you go?

In a preseason game though, it's hard to judge when teams aren't going for it, like I said he needs to find a settled pair to play a 4, and hopefully Bulvitis can fill one of the positions.

And no, I shudder to think what time those poor sods got on that coach this morning, did you?

No, I wasn't up there. It's on my bucket list, but it has come to early in the season for me. With City around the corner it came at the wrong time for my bank balance!

I'm sure Adams with get it right though. I'm gutted, but confident we can turn things around. It could be worse, we could be Pompey. They're bigger than us and even more inept when it comes to escaping League Two! ;)

It'll be fascinating to see how this season pans out now, he's either completely misjudged the quality of player required to do well at this level, or he's not shown his full hand yet and will over the next couple of weeks unveil some now players/loans that can turn it all around

Well the start to the season doesn't get any easier for us, as we have champions-elect Cheltenham just around the corner. I didn't make it today so will have to take people's word for it that we weren't at our Vale-flummoxing best. I took a look at the Plymouth forum and they didn't seem to think we were particularly good while at the same time saying we were all over them, first half. Sounds like we didn't quite nip their second half fight back in the bud the way we did Vale's.

I dunno, I genuinely only remember Gillespie making one save. Carey's set-pieces were decent but Raynes and Ellis dealt with them more often than not. I was a bit nervous near the end but that's to be expected at 1-0.

It wasn't such s nervy finish against Vale... That said Vale were hilarious, the one time they broke away from our corner flag in injury time they promptly misplaced a pass for a Carlisle throw on halfway.

We were decent defensively today, at least as good as midweek. It was our control of the game, ball possession, off the ball runs, link up between strikers that wasn't as good today.
