Crewe and Callum Saunders take on Crawley, managed by Dad Dean, in a massive relegation six pointer.

Team for me is:

Rachubka
Turton, Ray (if fit), Tate, Leigh
Jones, Ness, Grant
Dalla Valle, Uche, Colclough

Drop Ajose whose been poor and lacking in confidence, Atkinson out for Jones but I wouldn't mind seeing Atkinson line up against Chesterfield to keep the midfield fit. If fit, Colclough is a sure fire starter. LDV is also beginning to look sharp with a well taken goal on Saturday.

There are a few reasons I want to win this game other than it'll help us stay up: 1. I'd love it if we sent Mathias Pogba down to League Two and I expect him to get a few boos on Saturday. 2. This is by and large the worst away day in the entire Football League so I'd love to personally see Crawley go down and 3. I despise Izale McLeod (pen) for being the second coming of Jason Price, another mediocre striker who used to always score against us.

2-0 Crewe win but wouldn't be surprised if Pogba bangs the winner in off his arse or something then goes round celebrating like a lunatic.

Funny thread title.

You can't call Izale mediocre though. He's got 19 goals in all comps, he's lethal this season.

What a man.

Bar Akinfenwa and Wayne 'The Chief' Allison I personally despise all players who score regularly against us, maybe that's why I was harsh. Still I never rated him even when he was at Barnet, I often thought he was lazy and a glorified penalty taker. Mind you I only saw him play 2 times a season if that!

I'd pretty much agree with that team, with the exception that I wouldn't drop Harry. He's had a few poor games as have others, but he was excellent on Sat.[/QUOTE]

I'd go for the same team as you. Colclough has to start, sounds like LDV has found some fitness, and Uche is bringing more to the team than Ajose currently but Uche will tire come 60 mins or so, so bring Ajose or Haber on then.

Crewe 2-2 Crawley (Ikpeazu, Dalle Valle, McLeod (pen) Pogba) 4,250 (150 Crawley??)

How's Pogs been playing Crawley fans? Had a great nack of scoring important goals for us without playing all that great.

I fancy us to get a draw. I would also hope for 150 minimum but you never know with us. We have been fairly noisy away of late as well.
Pogba, played well in his first starts, but was ponderous at best against Port Vale and Orient.
McLeod - definitely not lazy, but he's always getting caught offside, and will niggle the hell out of the centre halves and will probably be booked if not sent off. He does though score good goals as per Saturday against Gillingham. He'll niggle the home supporters as well.

Pogba. Fooking terrible player yet most of our fans thought he was the bees knees. It was embarrassing. Surprised he's goalless at Crawley though (??), thought he'd have got in the way of someone's shot by now to claim the deflection.

I think we'll win tbh. 3-1. I wouldn't start Colclough yet, the starting line up at Sheff Utd did well. Colclough probably wouldn't last an hour fitness wise (with Uche the same, we'll be done for in the last 20 mins) and he's a nice secret weapon to hit Crawley with in the last 25 minutes.

That front three, on form, could be lethal. Inman should have been persevered with. Probs a bit too late now though. I would still go with him, however.

Still think if we give Inman a clean slate and a whole pre-season with proper fitness training he could be a force next year in this side.

If Crewe have a couple of defenders who can head the ball, then Crawley won't be a threat. Long ball team.

Take it you haven't been to Yeovil?
Yeovils alright, apart from taking for ever to get to and being a little out of town. Decent pubs in the town, friendly home fans.

Didn't he get that last pre-season?

Yeovil is a colossal pain in the arse of a place/ground to get to, but their ground, fans and club are far superior to Crawleys.

I'm sure Crawley is great for Gills fans as they take decent numbers, get the away terrace and its not far away. But for us Northeners, its miles away, we take few fans and end up in that marquee tent. Awful.

SD doesn't seem too fussed about it, tbh.

Edit: Colclough missing training, that is.

Got to admit I've got an awful feeling about this game. Just pray we go with same attacking intent we did on Saturday. I'd expect it to be the same team with Colclough, Haber and Inman coming on if needed.

Am I the only one who simply isn't bothered? This time last year I was quite excited about the run it but this time round I have just completely lost interest.

Crewe 1-1 Crawley and the Crewe hashtag to explode with worry and anger and then suddenly magically become positive before the chesterfield game.

We'll be away down South every two weeks if we go down, sod that because away games won't be feasible for me if that's the case. Nightmare scenario is if Tranmere, York, Burton, Shrewsbury, Bury and Northampton go down and up respectively. Then Barnet and Eastleigh come from the Vanarama and we get relegated with three Southern clubs.

We'd only have Accrington, Morecambe, Mansfield, Carlisle and Hartlepool North of the Watford Gap. The first three are the most tinpot awaydays imaginable and then Hartlepool is a ballache to get to. And knowing our luck we'd get Carlisle on a Tuesday Night away.

We need to smash these tomorrow, any repeat of the Oldham performance is unforgivable.

League 2 looks even more horrific than normal, even financially its a lot bigger than it would normally be to stay in this league. (Travelling expenses, poor away followings)

I personally don't think Colclough should start. With Jones not in any condition to play, I would go with mostly the same team that started last Saturday. Only change I would make is to bring in James Baillie at RB for Turton. Turton has played almost every minute of every game over the last couple of months, I would like to give him a rest and put the slightly more attack minded Baillie on in his place.

I think the front 3 just about all earned their spot for tomorrow. We need Uche for that presence down the middle, LDV scored and Ajose ran the channels well.

Never lost at home to Crawley, they best not start now!
