Okay, if you're sure it's for any reason I like then.....I think you want to beat us because you're jealous of our wonderful 'UEFA Elite standard' stadium and the fact we sell the best pies in the league.

I love the bit about the stadium, building something far too large and not finishing it in the hope that England won the right to host the World Cup and the FA pay for the completion and you wonder why other fans think your club contemptible

Us fans had nothing to do with the stadium construction, capacity decisions or the failed England bid. We'd be happy with a 15k stadium in all honesty.

And you forgot the part about it being only a third full most of the time.

I'm not having a go at you the fans but the club you support. Any fan who supports their local club especially when larger clubs with more history are close enough eg Arsenal for you then you have my respect doesn't mean I have to like your club.

I would like to suggest "winner of the play-off semi-final" as a way of lifting this thread out of the fetid delve into bitter corners that it has become.

The Gas on Tuesday is top of my current list. It'll change to the Cumbrians after that (happy with a draw at Exeter tomorrow).

I'd take the golf stand over the soulless, atmosphereless American stadiumesque bowl anyday. Unless it's raining...

I bought a Chicken Balti pie away at Bradford once; when I poked my fork into it, ghosts came out. Never again.

You take that back, no-one is allowed to say anything remotely positive about the golf stand.

He lost interest too. Built a whole team of central midfielders and players who used to be good, forgot about defenders and tried to play everyone out of position in a 5-3-2. Then when things went wrong told that fans that we were 'just Gillingham, and should be happy with where we were.'

Fitness was terrible too with training sessions only 3 times a week. He refused to shake our manager's hand when we played on the last day of the season and he's currently taking us to an employment tribunal for him being sacked. He's an utter ball bag and things will go tits up at Northampton sooner rather than later.

He would get on incredibly well with our useless door handle of an ex manager.

Things were going swimmingly up until January 2016, then injuries to key players and loss of form saw us go from top of the table to not even making the playoffs.

Last season we signed what we thought was a quality side, Konchesky, JET, O'Hara etc, but after a reasonable start form went completely and it became apparent a good number of the squad gave not a single fuck. Style of football was abject, players were woefully unfit which could be explained by only training three days a week. Edinburgh binned most of the long serving backroom staff and started bleating publicly about us overachieving when we apparently had the biggest playing budget in our history.

Essentially, due to illness our chairman took his eye off the ball, he said the other night he would have binned Edinburgh sooner had he been well enough to do so.

Jesus wept, is he Flitcroft's identical twin brother?

Hope you go bust. You lot really are an unpleasant club. Putrid springs to mind.

Actually bitter springs to my mind, but no idea why.
I mean we live in a cess pit, aren't up to much and have misplaced arrogance, shouldn't we get sympathy?

I wouldn't know about that, because I have yet to visit your (usually) half empty soulless bowl, and therefore not sampled your probably overpriced pies.

Franchise, on the other hand, have built a half empty bowl miles from any form of public transport. It's one of the worst examples of new grounds in out of town retail parks.

Again, the residents/fans of MK didn't ask for a 30k white elephant to be built. We still have one of the best home attendances in the league even if it is a third full, and I think most MK supporters would have been happy with a 15k-20k stadium. Nobody said "please build us a 30,000 seater so we can occupy a third of it".

Only a handful of clubs in this league would fill more of it than us, many clubs struggle to get attendances near even the amount of ST holders we have.

Saying that, it is built for the future, and means if/when we reach the Prem in the next 20/30 years, we will have a stadium to make the best out of it, in contrast to say Bournemouth.

Fair point on the transport/access though - it's a ballache unless you're driving.

The unnecessarily large stadium is why it always looks sparse. Close the corners as I've wanted to do for ages, and it would certainly look a lot more respectable in terms of what it looks like compared to the attendance. Facts still remain that we still have one of the better average attendances in the league.

This free ticket thing annoys me, apparently everybody else knows somebody who gets them, yet I've never seen even a sniff of them. Where's my free ticket.

Joking aside we aren't the only club, I remember Swindon putting out a press release offering thousands at one point, think it was 13/14

I know how you feel about the stadium. At least you have the ability to shut the upper tier to make it look better, we can't do that so it looks even worse.

I always thought Donnys main rivalry was Scunthorpe?? How wrong I was

We have a postcode derby but Scunny's rivalry is with Grimsby/Lincoln although it's always a healthy atmosphere at our games. As for Rotherham we just don't like one another especially when at one point in the 80's the idea to merge the two clubs was discussed.

In my history of watching Scunny, the Codheads are our rivals, by a stretch. Lincoln and Donny come second and third. Hull have been fabricated as a rival (Humber Derby), but it's all media bollocks, led by big bollocks Radio Humberside.

I've always thought of Rotherham to be Donny's main rivals. For me though, the Donny game against us has always been on the radar as a tasty encounter. I used to enjoy going to see that tart Belle Vue, with her wide open expanses, all done up with cheap costume jewelry, laddered stockings and topless. The away end anyway. This young tart these days, Deepthroat is all chic, but lacks the eye winking character of old Belle. I miss her.

There was a rivalry before the postcode thingy. The Isle of Axholme can be testament of it today.

Did the ideas of a merger include a name for the new club, DearneValleyRover? Perhaps Rotherdon Water Babies? Or Donham United? Maybe Rothercaster United? Or just simply, South Yorks Republicans? How serious was the talk of a merger? AND why?

The team(s) that I most want us to beat are Wigan and Blackburn. If we can do that, then we'll be right up there challenging for promotion, because finishing above either of these clubs could well mean promotion.
