Ferrer given a scare.

2 French men through so Murray will have the home crowd against him.

That's true but he relishes that as shown by his previous meetings there wit Monfils and Gasquet.

I thought Kyrgios would give Andy a scare but it was pretty simple today for him.

Long term gains.
The dream teams fucking with me. I've started supporting people I've never supported before...bit like when you get Germany in the World Cup sweepstake, not quite sure how to handle it.

Team name Points (overall)
Baker's Boys 939
Mark's French Stars.. 928
Wilson's Wonders 902
SteKrazy 863
RedStuff 858
Bristols Elite 830
TFF French Open 797

Baker's Boys and Mark's French Stars both have 6 remaining with a 3/3 men/woman split. Always better to have more men due to longer matches. I'm in 3rd with a 4/2 split. Then SteKrazy and Redstuff both have 8 remaining so it's still very open. The bottom 2 are also down to 6 but with them being over 100 points behind, you'd say they're both out of it.

I still think Baker's boys are the favourites but I'd put SteKrazy down as having a real chance with his squad.

I'm having a shocker here, my lack of knowledge of the womens game these days is really showing - not that I'm doing that much better with the men mind! :D

Svitolina looking really good against Cornet at the moment. She's the same age as Keys, no idea why she doesn't get the same sort of hype.

Are you sure? Svitolina has served for the match twice and been broken on each occasion. She seems to be trying her best to lose the match.

She's played well, much better than her previous matches. Just having a bit of trouble closing the match out against Cornet, who is feeding off the crowd.

An excellent tie breaker so far though and two decent matches to follow this, especially federer v monfils.

I like Svitolina. The fact she's got through a few close matches will only be of benefit. She'll learn with experience how to close out a match. I expect Ivanovic to beat her in the quarters but it's been a very good tournament for her.

Tsonga is absolutely schooling Berdych.

It could be going to a 5th set soon, with Berdych a break up in the 4th set and much the better player at the moment.

Haven't seen Tsonga put in a performance that good overall for quite a while. I think he'll beat Nishikori.

Mark Petchey is the tennis equivalent of Wayne Mardle on the darts. Every hyperbole they spout is infuriating.

Love Monfils. The guy plays on instinct all the time, he must be basically un-coachable!

An excellent line up of Tennis for today with Federer, Nadal, Murray, Ferrer, Sharapova and Serena Williams all in action, and if that isn't enough then there is also Djokovic v Gasquet later. Enjoy:bg:

The only loser today of the top names - really out played I understand.

How did Murray play?

Fancy a 5 setter against Ferrer - neither will give in easily!

Looks like I'm going to lose the dream team. Mark and Krazy both in much better positions than me at the moment.

Got Djokovic and Nishikori plus Kvitova and Safarova left in.

Bit torn though as I want Murray to win/get to final!

Looking at the start of the Djokovic match it looks early on as if he's going to rout Gasquet.

Nadal isn't going to give his crown up easily. That match against Djokovic is going to be huge.

Rest of them are:
Ferrer v Murray
Tsonga v Nishikori
Federer v Wawrinka

Murray is going to find it tough against the grinder I think, not surprised if he bows out.

I have a sneaky feeling Tsonga is going to reach the final this year. Might be completely wrong but it seems like now or never for him being on a side of the draw without Nadal, Djokovic or Murray.

Watched a bit of the 3rd set between Jack Sock and Nadal and the American is pretty damn good. Nadal isn't in the quarters yet imo.

Djokovic is destroying Gasquet while Federer only gave Monfils one set. I'm looking forward to watch Tsonga vs Nishikori tomorrow though. Reckon it'll be a good match. Never seen the Japanese play (haven't watched tennis in ages tbh).

Murray played a good match and deserved to win.

All eyes on Wednesday now, with the match that most people wanted, which is of course Djokovic v Nadal. who's your money on???
