May do it? We WILL do it:gr:
Andy does have a terrific record against Goffin and I've said it a few times, the Belgian is a quality player, just lacking power and some movement to push him onto becoming a top player; but I'm not counting my chickens, Andy should win, but I'll still be watching it all through my fingers! :D

What a point to win the set. Credit to Goffin as he is playing out of his skin but Murray is in physically grinding tennis mode.

I can't even put that achievement from the team into words.

Simply sensational and disgustingly underappreciated by the vast majority of the nation.

Won on all surfaces too throughout the course of the run. Immense achievement from all, they look to have some team spirit between them.

I wonder whether Murray will take a break from the competition next year.

He said he'll play the Japan tie but has pretty much said he won't play after that because of his schedule which is fair enough. Winning the Japan tie would stop us being involved in a relegation play off and allow the likes of Edmund quarter final experience. Mind you, Japan is no gimme. I dare say they'd have been a harder final than Belgium.

Great to see Murray go over and shake the hands of the whole Belgian team before celebrating. Respect.

Incredible, I don't think any of us saw this day coming. Remarkable achievement from all, from Smith and his brilliant organisation to the backup players supporting Andy, they have all contributed to this. Amazing stuff, we probably won't see this happening again, but for the present lets just enjoy being the tennis World Champions! :D

Classy from Djokovic :

' Novak Djokovic: Congrats #TeamGB on Davis Cup win! @andy_murray Seeing your reaction after winning made me relive again how it was for us in 2010. Well done, u deserve it. '

Great achievement to all involved .

Be tough to defend it with Murray having the Olympics as well as the usual slams.

Andy pretty scathing in his criticism of the LTA here :

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/nov/30/andy-murray-lta-davis-cup-tennis

The 'legacy' of the win if any :

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2015/nov/30/davis-cup-tennis-great-britain-legacy-andy-murray

“I went to the National Centre to practise for a couple of days after Shanghai, I was there on a Monday at like two, three o’clock and then on Tuesday, the same time, there was not one person using any of the indoor courts and not one person in the gym. I took photos of it because the place cost like £40m and there are no people. No players in there practising in there. It was like empty. There is nothing going on there at all. And, you know, it doesn’t necessarily have to be performance players, but there’s just nothing going on. And it’s such a shame, like, walking in there and there’s nobody in there.”

Ouch...

It could be a tough call if she is premature I suppose. I'd expect he'd go to the birth though.

He's got rid of Bjorkman and kept Mauresmo for next season.

.

I wonder if there is some medical issue and they are expecting the baby to be premature hence the talk already?

Or might just be good planning!

Shame that he was a solid player. Thinking Del Potro might not be far behind the way he's going with his wrist injuries.

Federer showing good form in Brisbane too.

Read Williams and Sharapova are injury doubts for the Aussie Open.

Watched some of the Djokovic-Nadal final. He's just picked up where he left off last year. 16th straight final reached and 6th consecutive title since Federer beat him in Cincinnati. Need some to really step up this year else he'll set all kinds of records. Only Federer looked able to compete last year and even he was miles behind.

In the other finals, Wawrinka defended Chennai and Federer conceded Brisbane to Raonic. I know it's only the Hopman Cup but strange to see GB lose a tie through 2 Murray losses. Can usually rely on him for the singles win.
