It wasn't that long ago that most clubs tiered their ticket pricing, so is that all Accrington have done here? Most sides have scrapped tier pricing now but set their normal prices at the highest one anyway.

If their tier system is...

Tier 1: Wrexham
Tier 2: Everyone else

...and they've announced it midway through the season just before the Wrexham game then yes.

Accy were definitely doing tiered prices in League One. Given that they hand over what are usually home areas of the ground to away fans of clubs with particularly large followings, and on numerous occasions last year hosted more away fans than home fans (something pretty much every other club tries to avoid) 'm sure it can genuinely be justified in terms of additional expenses faced by the club, probably rather more so than it can be by the bigger Championship or Premier League clubs that do likewise.

That said, it seems they'd not announced it publicly in advance this year, which does seem rather an omission. Wrexham's tweet was a bit twattish in terms of timing and content too.

That said, both Accy and Wrexham, in their different ways and situations, to my mind have among the apparently better and more reliable owners of clubs in this league at the moment.

And the sheer randomness of the North American takeover of Wrexham leads me to think that in other circumstances the situation could be reversed, with Stanley the media-adored go-getting club being promoted to a worldwide audience ("On Disney Tonight : "Accrington: No Milk Today ") and Wrexham under a bluff no-nonsense local businessman fighting for the interests of a club in a region with similar economic challenges to that of East Lancs. But right now it's the other way round.

Just looked at their website and they still tier games (like they did in L1), but they don't specify which ones and that's probably their downfall.

You'd think the tier system in our league would be us, Bradford, Morecambe and Stockport. Stockport have recently been with similar numbers and were charged £20 for the privilege.

Us being in tier 1 only takes the absolute piss. Hope he's happy sitting in an extra 12k in the bank and use the 'extra police' as a reason to up the price. Full on wanker.

The way he has been spouting on twitter makes me think he's desperate to get in the next series of the documentary. Sad.

It isn't the tweets, it's the ripping off of fans that I have an issue with. His tweets are incredibly tinpot though hence the inclusion.

Oh yeah you're right that is tinpot behaviour. If he needs to set the prices higher then do it across the board.

So here’s Don on this forum:
Why do you only ever chirp up when we lose?

It can't be healthy living with such negativity in your life
And yet here he is on the other forum: :bl:

Can't believe he's been going on about it pretty much non-stop all week. Fair play he's still tagging Reynolds in everything and retweeting all manner of inaccurate shite people send him

He makes Cleeve look like a professional owner.

I’m not for the price increase, but the tweet before the game was tinpot from Wrexham and I don’t think you can call a bloke who’s put millions in to his hometown club greedy.

The comments about him being unprofessional are fair, but I’m sure Stanley fans will take that considering how much worse it could be.

It isn’t going to cost Wrexham, much as majority of gate in March will be season ticket holders which will not receive any money back.

Now thats what I call TIN FUCKING POT!!!! Holy mother of God, i'd even say thats not even non-league type of tinpot. Jesus.

The foam fingers went down well actually and there's a proper buzz around our club now.

So say whatever you like, we're not bothered.

We've now got committed responsible owners who are with us for the long term.
Unlike yours who are just in it until the TV ratings start to drop..

The fact you have a little financial clout behind you now from across the pond is fantastic....rarely see financial backing in Cumbria for any team....so I’m happy to see it.....but the crowd chanting “USA USA USA USA “ made my fecking toes curl

Given the owners are American, what chant did you expect?
Also, IIRC, Barrow was full of USA chants when Paul whathisname bought you out 5 or so years ago.

Hahaha the owner was barrovian.....he may have lived in the states....there was zero “USA” chants.
I did love the excitement that the attended match brought and the ground seemed to be jumping....don’t get me wrong, was great to see.

You don’t recall correctly.

Is it true that Carlisle fans have adapted the USMNT soccer anthem “I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN” to say “I BELIEVE WE CAN STAY UP”?

I’ll assume it is true.
