Chelsea and Liverpool not having European commitments will certainly help. Having 7/8 starters play 90% of your league matches is a recipe for success, see Leicester City. Chelsea losing Costa for a sustained stretch could wreck them, given their dependence on his scoring in close games. The last-minute winners at the beginning of the season, while still adapting to Conte, could prove vital. Tottenham and Man City next up for the form team. Lose both and we're back to the narrative following the embarrassment at the Emirates. The following game is West Brom, which could further any hypothetical frustration.

Two wins in five for both City and Liverpool have seen them fall behind the pace of my predicted winners Chelsea.

1. Who will win it?

I had a go on Predictor yesterday and somehow. Spurs won it on goal difference from Chelsea. Don't know how that happened.
I reckon Chelsea will win it. Runners up Arsenal, Spurs, Man City, Liverpool and Man Utd down the list.

2. How many points will it take?

I think my predictor had Chelsea and Spurs on 84. I think it'll be around 84-87.

3. Can anyone outside the annually expected top six make a surprise title tilt?

Not this season, sadly. Looking like the usual suspects this time.

We are definitely challenging.

Don't know if will go all the way though.

Have Liverpool fans got their premier league 2016/2017 winners scarfs ready? :fl:

I suspect I speak for most members in hoping Chelsea slip up. Not just because it would be beneficial to other teams, but also it would inevitably lead to you fucking off like the stereotypical fair weather fan you are. :hypo:

It's funny how we went from being ridiculed for saying "it's our year" to being ridiculed for being overly pessimistic with literally no time in between. I think it says a lot, I do.

When opposition fans are starting to resort to the "It's our year" stereotypical bollocks, you know they're running desperately short of ideas. The added fact that little to no Liverpool fans ever come out with this expression makes it all the more desperate and amusing.

My perception of Liverpool fans is that they cling to past glories. Fabulous team throughout the 70's and 80's but their fans seem to forget that all good things come to an end. Many teams have glory years, glory decades. They always fade away.

Maybe all fans of dominant clubs are like that though? Were the totally dominant Preston fans like that in the early years? Huddersfield Town in 1922-1926 when they won three league titles in a row and the FA Cup? I guess, as time passes, pessimism is a natural course. Realisation sets in that you're not the great team you once were?! There's many teams fans who look back and hanker for the good old days. It's just that Liverpool fans seem to have made it an art form.

They do though. There were three Liverpool fans outside Anfield at the start of this season on TV who said just that!

And my perception of certain opposition fans is they desperately cling to a Liverpool fanbase stereotype, regardless of its accuracy. Let me guess, you think all scousers have curly hair and a tash as well?

So you're tarring an entire club fanbase on the basis of three fans on TV, who were no doubt chosen for interview entirely because they fulfilled the said stereotype? Enough said really.

You said no Liverpool fans had ever said 'It's our year'. I was merely providing you with something that contradicts your original statement. My fiancee also informs me that after the Arsenal win they said that to her at work.

On the contrary. I live in Liverpool, so know that not to be true. As funny a stereotype as it is.

No, I didn't. Go back and read.

My fiancee also informs me that after the Arsenal win they said that to her at work.

They? Well, that covers it.

The point I'm making, if it wasn't obvious, is that the amount of Liverpool fans that would make this claim doesn't justify the ridiculous, overused stereotype you're apparently determined to pander to.

I wouldn't hold your breath, Pags - Chelsea Royale also "supports" Manchester City so we'll need to hope for Arsenal to do the unthinkable and develop some bottle.
