2-2. Enjoying the fact that even when we're unbeatable we can't escape mid table :D

Will probably head down to this as well. Nothing better to do on a Tuesday night.

Botaka played in an u-21 game today and score 7 goals

no not really but he did look good and skillful, got himself a nice assist, Sloth played well too

sadly it looks like the wait goes on, i can't see him being involved tomorrow

Mick says we're going 'back to basics', which presumably means tightening up the midfield and playing more directly. Probably a few personnel changes as well, although unfortunately that doesn't include the goalkeeper.

Last time Mick said 'back to basics' he turned Stephen Ward from a striker to left back and made Greg Halford our playmaker

He also signed Eggart Jonnson

If Bart doesn't start in goal I'll be really irritated. Absolute no-brainer. Expecting a much tighter performance, more direct.

As for any prediction, I honestly don't know. Would take a point to avoid a third straight defeat. Not 100% we'll get it.

McCarthy said yesterday that Gerken will play. Maybe Bart still isn't 100% ready?
I expect Murphy will start instead of Pitman, Coke for Douglas and maybe Tabb in for Sears.

4-4-2 from us as well

Gerken

Chambers
Smith
Berra
Knudsen

Maitland-Niles
Skuse
Douglas
Fraser

McGoldrick
Murphy

Sears out injured. Same back 5 and same central midfielders from Friday :err: Hope Mick's loyalty pays off! Douglas and Skuse need to sit back and not go forward.

Ipswich dominated us physically, were first to every ball and whilst I thought 0-0 looked likely early on, a mistake gave them a goal and we were always gonna struggle to break them down.

We weren't good enough but still. And Pearson left now too so a good night in the office. Rosler could be next.

This is exactly what we needed after Friday's shambles. A solid 1-0 win away from home. Excellent man management by Mick by giving the same players a second chance. Bring on Birmingham!

I admit, I questioned Mick before tonight but hats off to him, turned it around! A clean sheet after Friday night looked a long way away!

Exactly what we needed last night, clean sheet and a good away win. Sounds like Fraser was superb again.

Fraser was good. Didn't have many clear-cut chances (neither did we) but I think the game was always going to be like that. Like I said, I thought it had 0-0 written all over it early on and it was going to take a mistake or a great goal to win it. Didn't help that we played our best player on the left wing but we are short of depth...he still looked pretty good. Every second ball was won by a blue shirt and the ball didn't bounce for us at all. Just hope the atmosphere at ER doesn't negative affect our players.

Still lacking that bit of pace...even when we did find a runner in the channels, Antenucci, Wood and Dallas aren't really quick enough to bomb on so it has to come backwards. Only chance happened when Byram went through and although people are now saying it was actually a dive, I still think it could very easily be given. Summed up the night though really.

Some tough fixtures coming up so 1 point from 2 home games is far from ideal.

Everything I've read says that Byram dived; I've only seen one (not very clear) angle and the way he goes down doesn't look like a dive.

Rosler's post-match comments are reminiscent of opposition managers' after our best performances last year, that's a positive sign: "We got drawn into their style of play and we are not that type of team."

At the game it looked absolutely stone wall. Then I read on the way home how he had dived so I was a bit surprised when I saw the video as I still think they're given more often than not. Might have gone down a bit easy but I don't know why he'd dive with no contact when he's already goalside of the man and about to shoot? Anyway, we didn't get it.

We just don't have many players capable of unlocking defences so when you've got a load of big fuckers camped in protecting the goal it makes it very tricky. We did try and match you but weren't as good as it, simple as that really.

Ipswich will get results because of it but also if it goes wrong and you concede first then I can see how you've been picked off a bit if you have to really start chasing a game. Though that may have been exaggerated yesterday given McCarthy's obvious desire not to lose after Friday.

Solid result at a tough ground, nothing spectacular but an efficient performance and it stops the (mini) rot.
