i thought it was a well done episode. i also have issues with the way tyreese survived 30 walkers last season with his bare hands, but then meekily gave in in a quiet room to 1 zombie whilst he was day dreaming. all that being said, i liked the style of the show with the flashbacks and the different hallucinations of past dead characters. I think the death of Beth and Tyreese coming 1 after the other is a little bit un-needed. Gives off the idea that you can't survive in this world with any morals whatsoever (Hersycel, Beth, Tyreese, Bob)
If my theory for the end of the season is right, its only going to get worse.

Negan, surely?

According to Kirkman, Negan isn't going to make an appearance til next season.

i sense a certain character picking up a certain weapon off the floor is foreshadowing a certain introduction of a certain somebody.

I vote to rename this topic The Walking Thread.

This was suggested about 16 hours ago and still isn't a thing. WHAT'S GOING ON?

As for the comics, by the way...

I just finished the second compendium the other day, taking me up to 96 issues read. It's died down a bit, hasn't it? It's got that sense to it that it's probably be running just to keep running, rather than because Kirkman actually has great ideas for it. That's not to say I'm not still enjoying it by any means... it just ain't the comic it was. For a point of reference, it got up to the point where they found that Hilltop place. I do like this idea of them really making a go at rebuilding some kind of a society.

So yeah, Negans name has popped up once or twice in the comics so far. And I always seem to see his name spoken with such reverence online... I'm expecting good stuff down the road. This being said, compendium 3 isn't out until November... screw waiting that long... :o

S5 has been such an improvement on every other season since the first. Did new people take over? Everything has just seemed so much better, the pacing, the cinematography, the atmosphere, and whatever else makes a show good.

Yeah, on a technical level it was a great episode, but ultimately it becomes difficult to invest in the characters if the internal logic of the show dictates that their lives don't matter. I still don't understand why Maggie and Glenn are still on this show. They are the remaining two relics of earlier seasons: characters who offer absolutely nothing.

As soon as they kill Daryl and Carol off, I'm done with it.

I think there has been a theme of killing off the "good" characters recently, and I think that is to prepare for an enemy who cannot be stopped by being good or nice. The Governor's attack on the prison started this process and Terminus pushed it on. Near enough everyone left is more than prepared to kill to survive.

i agree. the only thing id say is that they went far too slow in S2 - S3 on certain elements of it, and now it seems like they're mad rushing through certain elements in S5 (the hunters were all dead in 2 episodes when it could have really spanned over a half season)

The Boring Dead.

After a promising start this season it has turned into a big bag of shit.

Wait, what?

That scene with the zombies at the barn door wasn't a dream sequence? If it wasn't, what a load of sh*te.

Bit of an average episode, really. Some good bits mixed with some unnecessary ones, like the aforementioned and the weird zombie dodging scene where they tumbled down the hill by the bridge like something off of Takeshi's Castle.

Yeah it does seem a bit stupid that the storm could rip up trees and have them thrown all across the woodland like darts, yet the crumbly old shit barn that's probably held together with string and blu-tac manages to withstand the full force of said storm and a bunch of zombies bashing its doors in like a sex offender.
I can only assume this is to restore the priests faith or some shit. And I agree that this season is really losing its way.
Having said that, the human element is always the interesting danger element, and this fella at the end turning up obviously brings an opportunity to get interesting again.

That bloke turning up is a sign that it's starting to get a bit more of a focus now in it's story as it's going back on track with the graphic novels. It's always been very different, but basically of everything that's happened since The Governer attacked the prison, only the stuff with the cannibals is from the comic books and even that went down quite differently. All this terminus stuff, the hospital, that's all been sort of side tracking the overall story and I've not found myself into it as much as before.

Was the bloke at the end the gay character reportedly being introduced?

I didn't know they announced that they were doing that, but yeah, Aaron is gay in the comics so I'm guessing he'll be the same on the show.

A decent episode, but Rick's paranoia about this guy and the new place will obviously come true at some point.

Another good episode. Like I said before, this season has maintained a very high quality throughout.

Would have been a good way to end the show as a whole. The score in the background almost made it out to be as if they were walking into heaven... so obviously things are going to go horribly wrong at some point.

Liked the episode, the scene with the car and the zombies was really good. especially with the blood splatted windows making the insides of the car look more like a brothel

obviously things aren't going to go well in alexandria, but i get the impression that we might not see zombies for a while. the next conflict coming up to the end of the series might well be between humans and humans in alexandria.

oh and where's tara? i didn't see her at all in this episode, although I saw all other filler characters like eugene, rosita, carol etc. Did she die in one of the earlier episodes or something?
