Carlisle were away down Welling yesterday. I wonder if they traveled down on Saturday and their players left their cars at the ground, they'll be a bit damp if so.

Our caravan in the Lake District has been destroyed in the floods. If not having a place to go on holiday is bad news, then it's hundreds of times worse for your own house to be lost. I left a half-read Moby Dick in there and all. Apparently the decking was swept 400 yards away with our picnic table surfing perfectly on it. Consider everything you left downstairs tonight, all submerged when you get up. Or being in the position where your lake-/riverside house is flooded, and water coming from peaks of 2000–3000ft is on its way down to compound your misery. Will be up there after next week so I guess I'll be able to see in person.

About an inch of snow where I am in Scunthorpe.

Light sleet when I got into work at 7.30am, but over the last three hours it's been really thick, heavy snow.

We had a 15 minute snow shower in Wells earlier but blue skies soon after,mind you i was out for 10 minutes earlier and got caught in it,bloody typical! March 4th and we get our first snow of the winter.

Heavy rain last night and heavy snow for much of the morning, but it only settled on the grass and rooftops. Melting quickly now, but it's always nice to see snow.

Absolute fucking madness this morning with a derailment between Kings Langley and Watford Junction screwing up my travel to work. Had to drive in to work for the first time in donkeys, which took over two hours. The rain the whole way down the M1 was torrential and cars were all over the shop.

And here we are four days since my last post and still no rain....it has been handy mind you because we have a large garden and the dry weather really has assisted in allowing us to get a good bit of outdoor work done. Forecast is for the wet stuff tonight.

After a few days with some heavy downpours we've had another dry spell all week but..................it's bloody cold in the afternoons. Central heating has been on in the evenings.

17 degs here at the moment indoors but it'll get colder in the evenings so I'm afraid needs must mate.
