Our game against Newport County is off.

Please feel free to talk about the unimportant remaining games if you wish.

I do wonder what our result will be this weekend.

Will it be a loss?

Or perhaps a loss?

Maybe even a loss?

9 in a row and counting.

Barrow at home who I know very little about other than David Dunn. A quick look at their results suggests they love a draw.

We have injury problems so no idea what our team is going to look like. I’m going for a 1-0 win.

Tranmere at home for us, always a tough tie and expect no different but a pivotal week for us. Win here and we know victory against Scunthorpe would put us top 2/3 ahead of a big game down at Newport next Saturday.

Tranmere seem to have improved since booting the manager although that strangely may help us as we are crap against teams that sit in and far better when teams play against us.

We’ve won 5 in 7 despite last weeks cup blip which I’m sure they’ll want to put right this weekend and looking for a 4th straight league win for the first time in donkeys years.

First time this season we are looking like having most of our big players available with Oyeleke, McKirdy, Montano and Rodney returning midweek and Whitehead and Fitz set to return from isolation so only Gibbons out.

Would like to see Cullen start and Manny return to give us our first choice midfield, if fit (apparently only cramp) going to be hard to leave McKirdy out after Tuesday. Interesting to see what we go with.

Hope for a win which would be massive ahead of Scunthorpe (which we’d no doubt then lose!) but feeling we may get pegged back for a 1-1.

We haven't been beaten by more than a single goal but the only points we've picked up away from home came from the Mansfield win. Not confident about this one.

Away at Harrogate. We hardly ever win away from home so I can't see that changing against a team that's doing well in their first season at this level.

We have a few injuries at the back. Might have added Tunnicliffe to that list as he was off the field, limping badly, when we scored our sixth goal on Saturday.

Cambridge United away and the table says home win... We've never beaten them away in the football League - but have only played them twice. We have however beaten then away in their Conference days. Cambridge appear to have injuries and whilst Barrow still have 4 long term injuries we had 6 players return midweek against Accrington, so will have our strongest squad for a while. I still remember 10 men Barrow winning 2-0 at Cambridge in 2009(?) when they were big favourites to win the game - a repeat would be good... (without the red card)

I think Bonner is playing mind games regarding injuries and don't expect both Mullin and Irosnide to be injured Saturday. Mullin hasn't been seen this week so could have Covid but Ironside has been at the ground on Tuesday so expect him to start with Hoolahan in behind.

It’s my birthday on Saturday so I’m fully expecting a defeat, it’s what United do to me!

Think we used to have a u’s fan(Alan?) on here who was from barrow I think, not sure what side of the fence he’d be on for this one!

Port Vale away should be a good game. Would take a point given the way they’ve started the season. Expect a similar team to the one that defeated both Harrogate and Accrington.

He's currently posting on another part of the internet which I shall not specify, and this question was asked of him.

His answer is that when Barrow and Cambridge first met in the Conference he wasn't sure where his loyalties would lie, but when the match started he realised he wanted Cambridge to win over Barrow.

Stags for us, easy win, we're concentrating so hard on this league we let in six in the cup and a late winner for Swindon in the tinpot so we're clearly raring to go.

Tbf I can understand resting Matt and Adams, Ebou's carrying an injury and Jamma looked utterly fucked at the end of the Orient game. Not the type that can play this many games in a short space of time I'd imagine. Having both fit for Saturday should be a boost.

Nigel Cloughs Mansfield Town will be a much tougher test then they would have been under Coughlan though.

This thread should be renamed Arbury and FGR Stroud's birthday special, much like last weeks was for Luke Imps 50th birthday.

I'm hoping Clough won't have had the time to sort them out yet but you'd expect a bit of a bounce at least unfortunately.

The third in a run of 4 really tough league games. So far we’ve lost 1 and won 1 but played really well in the win over Newport.

Cheltenham looked an excellent side last season. Without Kayode (away on international duty) who is an important part of our team, it might be a step too far for us.

Narrow defeat. Carlisle 0-1 Cheltenham. But nothing to be overly concerned about.

Agree about taking a point. Askey had a reasonable record against us when Macc manager. Ridehalgh out, so a likely return for MacDonald at left-back, though not as sound defensively as Rides. Danny Lloyd likely to replace the injured Paul Lewis.

We will be missing both full backs on Saturday which is a concern, but plenty of options going forward, where we have looked good under Dawes.

I would be happy with a point but doubt it will finish nil nil.

Last chance saloon, or the start of our season turning. I fear it will be another home defeat
I thought we would have a decent team out for the first time this season looks like that wont be the case.
No emergency keeper has been signed so i suspect Crellin will start. Looks like Gethin Jones and Eoin Doyle wont be ready for another week. Brockbank our right footed defender who played lwb the last 5 league games is out.
Sarcevic also looks like he is out been carrying a back injury for three weeks yet Evatt did not rest him for the fa.cup game last week.
Evatt support on wanderersways forum is about 40% to keep him, lose to Salford i fear the will be no return.
I dont think Evatt realises what a defeat to Salford would be to the not rights that follow us.
I will reserve judgement until the team is announced.....maybe Gilks may play in goal and some of the players returning make it

A fascinating match between 2 of the teams in league 2 with no suffixes
5 Uniteds
5 Towns
3 Citys
2 Rovers
1 County
1 Wanderers
1 Athletic
1 Port - that's a prefix, I think
1 Orient
and 4 couldn't be arsed

And what happened to Stevenage's Borough?

We have a few covid absentees and some injuries so be nice to squeak a win.

Usually classed as Vale. No one exactly knows where the name is from, possibly a pub where we were formed or more likely the “Valley of the Ports” (The area down the hill from the ground towards the A500 where the canals run).

Can’t be as bad as the Papa John’s game! All be it a very different XI for us from that.

Should be decent, it probably suits us bizarrely that your in form and likely to have a go at us, if you park the bus and make it difficult for us to break you down you’d probably get a blank against us but our record against teams doing well is pretty ridiculous as it allows us to play our suited high press style and give us space which should make it more open.

We are strong down the flanks with Amoo and Worrall so if struggling for fitness down there we might get some joy I guess. Just rather we don’t play Pope and lump long balls to Monthe to head away all afternoon! Go with Cullen in my opinion!

They removed the Borough on promotion to the EFL
