Decided this weekend that I wanted to start playing proper games on my PS4 again after three years at Uni without a console and just playing FIFA/CoD when I was home.

Started with..... Dark Souls 3. Wow! Obviously read a few posts on here saying how difficult it was, but there were times where I didn't think I'd make it past the first boss.

Made it past him after several attempts and hours and found that the death screen is a regular thing.

The game's helped me out a few times though. Nappy guy next to the Fire Link Shrine, who doesn't take a lot of damage despite clearly not having any armour killed me a load before he decided to head off of the cliff. (Literally, I dodged, turned and he was gone!) Got the souls and loot for that. Now I've just got past the knight, by the dragon in Lothric. The knight killed me many times, until I led him into the dragon's flame! Took the loot and souls for that too!

Will now spend tomorrow at work thinking about it all day. Incredibly difficult/rewarding game and I've still only touched the early parts of it.

Been playing Witcher 3 this week. I'm really liking it however I'm finding it a little complicated and I have shed loads of "ingredients" but I can't seem to craft anything. Pretty stunning game however.

How bloody big is this game? Map is massive.

Still loving it however there's a bit too much dialogue/cut scene for my liking.

Just done the quest where you turn the botchling into a flubberkin. Also been clearing out all the '?' in White Orchard. Found the Viper gear diagram too.

Dust: Elysian Trail
Someone gave me a key for this so I decided to give it a go today. It's a lot of fun and it reminds me of Odin Sphere and a whole host of other 'Medtroidvania' games. Lovely artstyle and music.

Amnesia Dark Descent
Finally giving this a proper go. It's very atmospheric and it looks like I'll need to manage this sanity mechanic properly. Getting some odd performance issues though. Stutters and almost freezers when opening doors.

H1Z1: KOTK: Good early access (despite being 2 years old) battle royale game. A lot more casual than the ARMA 3 mod which is what I was looking for. Took a while to get used to the game mechanics but I managed to win one last week.

CS:GO: Played a few games on the new Inferno. Looks like a great remake of one of my favourite maps but learning the new, weird angles is pretty annoying and I can't be arsed to get in a server and figure out smokes. Constantly messing up my cross hair placement in banana.

Overwatch: Given up on this seasons competitive. Placing ~85% players in one rank to save their feelings is fucking stupid and leads to a horrible, imbalanced, random game experience. Carried myself to diamond with McCree/Tracer then lost interest. Too difficult to hard carry in such a team orientated game. Elo hell. Played the Halloween brawl with some mates and had fun for an hour or two.

SOMA: I've done my video settings. A very positive experience so far.

The Witcher 3: Played an hour. The game setting and the whole magic thing isn't really for me. Not sure I'll persist with it despite knowing it's a great game.

Remastered Red Dead is likely because it's easy money for these companies (not that Rockstar need it) and it would precede a sequel but I'd like to think if they're starting to drop teasers and getting people excited it'll be for a new game - they know their marketing.

Did some comp and it kept putting me with Torbs on attack, people who pick Widowmaker who actually have no hands etc. Went down to 1.4k and felt like giving up because 1.4k rating implies you're a fucking vegetable. Did some more today and went up to 2077 without losing a game.

Yeah, it surely must be RDR 2. It's been teased for ages. And it's similar to what happened with GTA V... a small, almost nothing teaser hinting at it and then a week later, bang, a full fledged trailer. So yeah, if that's any indication... should be a trailer or something released very soon

I just started W3 again from scratch, forgot how much effort you have to put in if you want all the bombs, potions ect. Also forgot what it's like to not have a stash of skill points to plough into whatever you want.
Going to make an effort to explore more of Skellige this time, since I usually rush through that part for some reason.

On the RDR topic... RDR 2 announced today Trailer coming on Thursday! Can't fucking wait. Games not out until next fall though... that's gonna be a long ass wait.

Also, Pokemon Sun/Moon demo was out today. Damn, the games looking pretty. Though that may just be because the last Pokemon game I played was Yellow Not really all that much to do in the demo though... roll on November 23rd so we can get the real deal!

Not sure if I'll bother with Sun/Moon. Stared playing Emerald and then Pearl on my DS recently and much prefer the art style/graphics of the older ones compared to the new 3D ones. Whats in the demo?

there is so much more for you to do - i have probably played at least another 15 hours past your point and havent even made it to Skellige yet! but then i have been doing similar to you i.e. going around the map clearing the ?? and doing random side quests / witch hunts

Not an awful lot really. You get to look around one little town, ride a Tauros and have a few little battles... plus have a small play around with the Pokemon Snap-esque mini game thing. Only about an hour or two worth of content there. It's mainly a case of collecting everything that you can transfer over to the full game once it's out
