Is this another of your bullshit Bolton facts?

The biggest town in England by population is Northampton - or Huddersfield if you count the whole Borough.

Thanks.
Milton Keynes isnt it? Ok you got me, didnt realise Northampton was bigger. Give it ten years though

According to the 2011 census the town of Bolton has 194,189 people making it the 4th largest town. Reading is the most populous.

The Metropolitan area of Bolton is a lot larger.

Hats off to Masi. Has everyone talking about the town size of Northampton on a thread dedicated towards tomorrow’s fixtures!
Only on a football forum can you get something so random

Says the man who doesn't even know he travels from Bolton to Horwich (Greater Manchester) to watch his team play on a Saturday.

I'm just glad Exeter play in Exeter. Rather than being like Bolton and playing in a different town, a bit like Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

Polsloe is a suburb and ward of the city of Exeter in Devon, England. It lies to the east of the city centre.

Horwich is a town in Greater Manchester. It is 5.3 miles southeast of Chorley, 5.8 miles northwest of Bolton and 15 miles northwest of Manchester

Another humiliating defeat this time at Barrow, how appalling can we continue to be? Tune in tomorrow.

You do realise the difference between a borough and a town? Wigan has 328k if you are going down that road. Imagine being smaller than Wigan.

People in Topsham have an 01392 phone number. They live in Topsham not Exeter and their constituency is East Devon. If you're clutching to phone lines for some credence you lost along time ago. Horwich is a separate town to Bolton. It's in the Borough of Bolton, but Horwich itself is a Town. Over 5 miles from Bolton.

You'd think you'd understand the geography of your local area, and the ground you apparently so frequently visit. It's the one where you pass the 'thanks for visiting Bolton' sign post, travel 6 miles then pass the 'Welcome to Horwich" sign.

When I was growing up Topsham had a different code. You had to dial 87 from Exeter. Those were the days...

Nah, he got you with the bit about the red rose. They are probably the only club with a red rose on their club badge.

Casey

I'm not sure that's what he meant - that would be an extraordinary boast, even for him.

You are in Cumbria

Don't be surprised at all if Southend get something tomorrow. Vale have had a habit of gifting teams on bad runs 3 points for longer than I can remember, and we generally play much better against the better sides too. When teams defend and try to make it difficult by putting 10 or 11 behind the ball we have a tendency to huff and puff and really struggle. I'm not sure if that's how Southend play and they may give it a real go which would make things interesting, but I'll fancy our chances much more if they do. If they come out with the mentality to just not concede and try to pinch one, as Morecambe did to us, then it will be a long afternoon.

So now people can’t dick wave over who takes the biggest away followings we have to now resort to comparing town populations and area phone codes.

Need to go at them early and try and get an early goal. Hopefully we can then open them up if that’s the case. They seem to concede a lot so maybe don’t sit back.

I want to see vale do something they have rarely done under Askey and that’s really put a game to bed early. We beat Colchester 3-0 at home last season but other than that we aren't known for really demolishing sides. Oldham had the potential after that first half performance but never really materialised once they nicked a goal. I’m aware of Vale’s track record against sides in Southend’s position but I don’t think home/away games really make much difference in the current circumstances and I want to give the current group of lads some deserved positivity before a game because they have earned it since defeat to Cambridge. Interested to see how he starts, expecting more or less the same with Fitzpatrick in for Montano, however I feel like Theo Robinson is starting to look a little tired so may give him a rest and start Pope or Cullen!
