Guess I should bookmark this forum then.
The non league section is the best part of this forum anyway, and with no Masi or Devon Lad down here the main talker of absolute bollocks you will come across is B2TF.

I'd rip your arm off if you offered us 20th right now.
Want Hartlepool and Sutton up, the others are all better away days.

Hopefully we can get to games next season, I'm looking forward to a beer with B2TF at Halifax.

Sometimes you get a weird anomaly team that finishes high up based more off away form than home, imagine finishing 2nd and being loads better away than at home. I like the idea of this revamped playoffs as an outsider, but not sure if I'm as keen on it now it's looking like we're gonna be aiming for them next season potentially.

How has everyone down here found them? More so fans of teams that have played in this new format?
Tranmere went up in the first season they used them. We played 1 less game but the final felt like watching 2 extra games having a player sent off after 48 seconds.

B2TF is not old enough to drink.

We were in it last season and, despite the weirdness of behind closed doors and no one having played for months (we were worried at the time that the clubs having had to play and win a quarter had a big advantage), they basically went with logic. Us and Harrogate were easily the two best teams in the play-offs, I think, and won our semi-finals without much bother. Might be different this year as I don’t think there’s much between a whole group of clubs this time.

It took me months to change my bookmark but it's actually the best sub-forum on here. Four years on and I still read it every day and contribute in here where I can.

Reading all the threads keep me semi up-to-date with it all!

Hello all! We’re back.

I’d say it’s been a nice 5 years but I’d be lying. If you do manage to go up and you’ve got a decent board then you might well do alright. We learnt once again (and by the hard way) that if you don’t know how to run a football club, don’t do it.

Hampered by Holloway’s shite until January meant we were in a downward spiral from October. Paul Hurst has made us far harder to beat and more of a football team but it has not been enough. There are some players I’d keep from this season and we’re luckily not stuck with many. We need some good signings and we know that Paul Hurst is capable of that and I’d be very interested to see what he can do with an actual backing and a 21st century outlook at a very tired club.

As most know, Hurst is usually good for the playoffs and I imagine if we don’t make the top 3 then he’ll go. Big 3 months ahead.

As ever, you'll need to get back within the first 2 seasons otherwise you've got best part of a decade down here.

Definitely remember saying this recently, can't remember if I said it in response to you though but you're kind of guaranteed promotion this year if recent years anything to go by. Think it's 3 out of the last 4 Conference playoff winners were beaten finalists (us, FGR, Tranmere, then Salford bucking the trend).

Edit: Forgot about Harrogate there haha. 3 out of the last 5.

It's been so so crap. So unbelievably crap, I can't stress this enough. I for one am glad to be back down here so at least we can hopefully win some games and lose some playoffs again. Maybe have a striker or two who actually knows where the fucking net is and a winger who can skin people.

They move in mysterious ways those fixtures. After Lincoln requested not to play us because we spanked them all the time, I think we had Macc? Who do Hartlepool have nowadays?

Dunno if it was the same this year, but pretty sure the police vetoed us having Chesterfield last season. So we ended up with fucking Maidenhead.

Boxing Day at King’s Lynn would’ve been a class trip tbf.

FC Halifax this year, Harrogate last. We even had Barrow at one point.

you'll get us again next season in EFL 2 when you come up - as no way will they give us Morecambe or Carlisle....
They won’t be able to give you Morecambe as they’ll be in League 1....

No they don’t, we had Leyton Orient on Boxing Day and the return fixture was last night. I didn’t mind the double header too much, except having to play Histon twice within a week.

Playing Histon once is more than enough.

Yet we still won't fucking die. Cannot believe how we've managed to extend our stay of execution. Hopefully Barrow pull the trigger on Saturday.
Then onto the AGM, Ron will give them a headache with his convoluted business affairs.
