Do we need an Olympic basketball tournament for 5'7" men? They have been horriblly under-represented thus far.
But not doing anything at all is, in my opinion, not an option. The status quo is not satisfactory.
I've not once mentioned anything about abnormality or normality, that's a narrative you've conjured up yourself. A person is not their bodysuit so to make a judgement on them for it either way would be dumb. That's my main crux with trans operative surgery/drug treatment. Most of the world is a dumb consumerist robot so why would the majority of people having trans treatment be any different. The untouched with their spirit planks probably believe if they get this material product all their worries will be over.Separation of the 'abnormal' from the 'normal'. Put the freaks in a different category so all the normal people don't have to have anything to do with them..?
When you exaggerate to such a horrendous level it undermines your argument. You know full well calling for "insert random language to label someone here" not to be allowed to compete with those that biologically match the definition of female on the basis of fairness is not an apartheid nor equal to living in a ghetto.Sporting apartheid..?
Never lived in a ghetto, have you..? Never known what it's like to be treated as 'different'..?
I'm afraid that's not what inclusiveness is supposed to mean, and inclusiveness is what this is all about.
The taking part is aimed at the everyday man or woman. Why should we have any tariff system or other formula when it's perfectly fine as it is. You're advocating taking a sledgehammer to womens sport - completely eroding it from what it is - so that people who are not biologically or physiologically equal to a defined gender can compete - what is this utter madness? Just create a bleeding trans competition to run at the same time. What is so wrong with that? It'd be good. We'd have another element of sport. I imagine the Thai's would sweep up with their pedigree. The most noble ethic in sport is that it's not about the winning, it's about the taking part. Baron Pierre de Coubertin understood that and made it his Olympic ideal. In my opinion he was right to do so. Inevitably though, that ideal throws up challenges that I believe should be faced and overcome rather than surrendered to.
I suggest the tariff system as a practical solution to which everybody can agree, and which will ensure that there is the closest standard of participation between all in the global sporting community. If there's another, better proposal that ensures full inclusion I'd be delighted to read it.
The tariff system works in other sports and some are very complex. Try working out the scoring system in Ski Jumping, or calculating a Duckworth / Lewis run rate in cricket without the aid of a computer, mate..!!.
When such a system is introduced the scientific /mathematical formulas are invariably agreed by all participants provided they are seen to be fair and proportionate from the outset. That means getting all interested parties together beforehand to discuss how it will be done, and to agree the final outcome before competition takes place.
As for challenges and complaints, I would suggest that it is in the interests of the transgender community to be flexible and open minded towards any such system. After all, it is they who want to take part in competition. They have the most to gain. We're not dealing with petulant children going out of their way to block reasonable methods to include them out of spite.
And if there were any complaints, then that's alright too because it's only right and proper to address issues that arise, which I'm quite sure they would. Frankly, I'd be astounded if the organising body got it right first time.
But that's how any 'wrinkles' in a system get ironed out. Eventually a fair and equitable system is established which serves all parties as best as possible.

Seeing Jessica Ennis become such a success and a brilliant genuine role model to girls is what sport is all about. She's an inspiration on & off the track. In this age where the media platforms socially condition kids with horrendous music and icons only the devil could invent with the likes of mily cyrus - why would you wanna block off an avenue that has served for good time & time again?
A trans woman dominating a trans field years in years out and would be rightfully lauded as an inspiration & genuine role model. A trans woman doing the same in a female field will never be thought of in the same regard - cuz deep down everyone knows they've got an advantage - it's called dna.
no-one's stopping you organising a height-limited basketball tournament if you want to?
can't leave it at that skipyou're chatting absolute nonsense here tbf
In that case they've had to take him in and do a token investigation on the off-chance he's lying and it's his ex-son-in-law he's killed in a grudge or something. They can't just take someone's word on it when there's a corpse. Reckon the fact we've heard the dead scrote wielded a screwdriver, presumably police gave that detail, means old bloke won't even be charged.78 year old man arrested on suspicion of murder for defending himself in his own home after two burglars broke into his house and one of intruders died after being stabbed.
