Well miracles do happen. On Saturday 1st April Carlisle United produced a memorable April fools joke by scoring a goal and then another goal and winning a game of football. It's got a lot of our fans fooled anyway, hasn't it Carver?

Can we defy the odds and beat an inform Notts County team with Premier League superstars Shola Ameobi and Jon Stead spearheading their attack? Well last time I predicted us to win we produced one of the most inept, toothless and gutless performances I've seen as Crewe ran out 2-0 winners.

I'm afraid normal service will be resumed this weekend. We will be back to our usual shitty worst. The win at Yeovil was a flash in the pan.

I wouldn't be surprised if we scraped a point like we did against Luton but in all honesty I think we'll lose 3-1.

We've got a good record against Notts County under Curle, 3-0, 5-0 and 3-2 wins against 3 different managers. They've got a new forward-thinking owner and their form under Nolan is much improved.

Despite the positive result on Saturday, I'm still not overly optimistic as Yeovil were a very poor side and this'll be a much greater test. Having Kennedy and Jabo back from injury will be a boost, and hopefully we play with a bit more confidence now.

I'd go same team as Saturday with Kennedy in for Bailey, but Curle won't drop him.

1-1 Lambe, Shola

If Kennedy returns that could make a massive difference. But how fit will he be and how match fit can he get with 6 games of the season left?

I watched saturdays match last night on United Player. We were pretty poor until the red card, although O'Sullivan never stopped. After that we looked dominant. Devitt and Nabi were the standouts, we should have scored more and would have if Waring wasn't such a camel. But it was against 10 men who'd just about given up, so can't read too much into it.

We do have a good record against Notts recently, but these games have been handed to us by Notts County defending CUFC2017 style. Ibehre always seems to play well but this is a different Notts County. They look much more solid throughout and are scoring goals. They'll be too much for us, sadly.

going off the radio, Bailey sounded like he did alright on Saturday. Not that I'd start him over Kennedy.

He was tenacious and hard working, but didn't offer much going forward.

Liddle was the best of the midfield 3 despite James Phillips saying he did nothing. He kept things simple, sat deep and actually offered some much needed protection in front of a fragile back 4.

0-1, sounds stupid but i wouldn't rule out notts not dropping a point before the seasons out.

Carlisle have a good team but their form is terrible. How has Liddle been for you lot?

Up and down, but he's not really been given a consistent position since signing, there's clearly a quality player in there, but he's had a few poor games and given the state of the team he came into and the positions he's played I don't want to be too harsh on him.

I wouldn't start kennedy, he hasn't played even a minute off the bench yet. Bring him on second half and then start him in a game that we actually have a chance of winning.

I'd go same team as Saturday but Devitt for Bailey. We need to get on the front foot early on to stand a chance of pulling off a shock and getting anything out of the game.

Nabi didn't feature on the highlights, how did he look? Phillips and Lumsdon seemed quite intrigued by him when he came on, felt he was the kind of player who shouldn't be starting but could change a game from the bench. Sounds like he's quite entertaining to watch.

As i said further up I watched the full game on United player last night and he looked good. He came on and did well, but it was against a team 2-0 down and down to 10. We were well on top at the time. He's got a bit of pace and energy which quite frankly we've been bereft of for a long time. Early signs are he could be a decent find.

I think we will lose this one. We can't go on winning games, it's not the Notts County way.

No instead we will find some way of competing before giving away a shoddy goal and falling apart.

Last few games we've won, we have scored first. If we don't score first i cant see us getting anything

So its the worst team in the league vs one of the best as 7th play 16th!
It goes without saying that we have been terrible against Carlisle recently.
Our last win at BP was in 2012/13 a division above 4-0 to the pies.
Since its almost all been Carlisle.
I would be quite happy with a point here but who knows!

Im not really that fussed how we do against County to be honest, obviously a win would be nice but they are looking pretty good right now, but what I am fussed about is that loon HG still being a cock.

People should be praising him. To get such a poor group of players into a position where in February automatic promotion was a possibility, it's nothing short of a miracle.

Yeah it's now gone tits up, we've sold our goal scorer and we now look like one of the worst football teams in the land, but that shouldn't scrub out the miraculous achievement and run of results we had prior to Christmas.

I complain about how shite we are and I am worried about relegation out of the football league next season, but taking this season as a whole, a top half finish would be good with this squad in my opinion.

If that was written by another Carlisle fan it would be believable.

Many players in that Carlisle 11 would walk into most league 2 sides tbh.

Curle has a habit of being tactically poor. Sometimes it would clearly not be working and he'd do absolutely nothing to change it. My favourite tactic was when we tried to play like an away team at home. So much fun to watch

Curle has been with us longer than he was with you, so I think we know more about him than you lot. Also after County sacked him your club went downhill from there and look where you ended up.

Curled doesn't get the credit or blame for dropping us down, that lies firmly with Ray Trew!
He sacked Curle for dropping attendances because of the mind numbing football then hired Kiwomya to take over, nice bloke, not a manager. I'm pretty sure Bechetti at Orient looked at Trew for inspiration, both even have ridiculous goatees as well

Curle starts off very well with teams, if he's given a budget he'll start the ball rolling but eventually the budget runs out, injuries hit and he runs out of ideas and you start playing lovely passing football between your back four...

Either way - I think putting all the blame at the players feet and saying they're crap when there's clearly some very good footballers in Carlisles team is unfair. Yes players are sometimes to blame, but the set up, tactics and basics come from the manager

We've never been like that under Curle, we have always been an attacking direct team who are good to watch and we can defend well too, so I don't know what you're going on about. He's been well with us all the time he's been here and has got us through times of injury crisis's as he's never short of ideas.

He is one of the best managers in this division so you lot are the ones who have missed out, just shows that if you gave him a little bit more time he would have turned it round for you.

Now I know you're a troll. He's so attacking you've just gone 7 games without scoring a goal...

Why am I not believable?

One thing Curle has definitely proved here is that he is capable of changing things either from match to match or during matches. He's not perfect that's for sure and he does have his faults, but he's one of the most tactically astute managers we've had in recent years. Mind you that's not difficult when his predecessors were Graham Kavanagh and Greg Abbott. Abbott would make a Sunday morning under 12 team manager look like Carlo Ancelotti.

I disagree that most of our team would walk in to other league 2 teams. Nicky Adams yes, Mike Jones yes but those 2 are both out injured. Liddle possibly would as well but that's about it.
