I have the Xbox One for three reasons, Fifa, Halo and my friends have it. It does everything I want it to do, and generally does it well.

Very similar reason barring the games. Owned the xbox 360 before and I have kept all the titles I've owned for backwards compatibility. Drives me bat-shit crazy how most games are online multiplayer focused and the best gear/rewards can only be obtained from multiplayer. Binned Destiny for this reason and the horrific costs. Looking forward to Fallout 4 (played the original fallout on PC).

should I buy an xbox one or not?
I've owned dual consoles before, I don't like missing exclusives, and i'm itchy to find out what the entertainment system is like on the other side

I already own a ps4, but now the xbox has recovered from it's early shit on the fanbase and hope it goes our way technique i'm very tempted, I've got a bit of spare cash after a recent holiday

i'm not a halo fan

Pretty much every other xbone exclusive other than that is on or will be on PC too anyway.

If that's the case, and you already own a PS4, I'd probably say it's not worth it to be honest. I mean, yeah, ok, so Tomb Raider is out next month which'll probably be great but beyond that and Halo, I don't think that the Xbox One (or the PS4, for that matter) really has any major exclusives to make owning both all that justifiable, if that's all you're basing it on.

I basically own the PS4 for my single player focused games (MGS V, Batman Arkham Knight, Fallout when that comes out) so I can play them at their very best, with the Xbox One for multiplayer stuff like PES and Battlefront because most of the people I play with have Xboxes. If you're not in a similar position with the Xbox One and you already have a PS4, with no interest in Halo, I can't think of a single reason to do it other than the fact that it's always an awesome buzz getting a new console, regardless of whether you need it or not.

It's a much better console than it was from launch. All depends on the games really, there's really good exclusives here and some on the way..

Tomb Raider (timed for a year)
Scalebound
Gears of War
Quantum Break
Cupheads
Fable

And backwards compatibility is to have a library of over 100 games as of next month

Anyone know of any more good platformers on the 360? I haven't played a good one in a little while and fancy a new one. Already played all the Sonic games, Guacamelee, Rayman Origins and Legends, Super Meat Boy etc.

I, too, am excited by Halo. In fact, I went back on the MCC today for the first time in ages to hype myself up for it. I got into one game, and in the game I had a team mate shooting at me all the way through it trying to betray me.

So yeah, not exactly the greatest Halo experience of my life, but still. You know. HYPE.

About 2 missions into the story on Halo 5, good fun so far. Though it's got that typical Halo thing about it where it thinks I give a shit about the story/universe/characters as opposed to the reality where I'm stuck between not giving a shit and not quite being sure if I'm supposed to remember certain things or if I just don't really know stuff because I couldn't give a fuck about the extended Halo universe outside of the main games.

It's Halo 2 all over again.

Questionable Story, a cliffhanger and a fun gameplay experience in the campaign with a secondary protagonist that no-one likes.
Very, very good multiplayer that is very tight, balanced and entertaining.

Story will be serviceable for those who don't care about the story, but for those who have read the books and followed the ad campaigns then it is a big let down. It's quiet obvious the lead writer is a comic book writer and also that the story had undergone big rewrites with parts being cut out and put into Halo 6. Ad campaign was ridiculously misleading too.

Still really, really fucking enjoyed it though.

Campaign: Chief only appears in 3 missions! This was a let down to me. I don't want to openly talk about the ending incase Oaf, or others haven't finished it yet. but i didn't expect that. The level designs were pretty neat and i enjoyed using the new spartan abilties and guns

Mutlpliayer: is the dogs bollocks

Overall, happy but campaign could have been better.

I felt that with the story of Halo 5, it was actually a really good concept and idea but presented fucking terribly. Halo stories have always felt like good stories trapped behind awful story telling, but never quite that bad. As I said before, it does feel like they just assume that everybody is super into the extended universe and knows a lot going into it, but it's not just that.

But story aside, I actually thought it was one of the better Halo campaigns, probably. Very good open level design, clearly designed to be played 4 player so the maps are scaled much larger to compensate and it allows a heck of a lot more freedom than previous Halo campaigns. I'm actually quite up for replaying through it with 3 other people at some stage, which is a nice change as I don't often replay Halo campaigns.

Online is superb, but... I seem to actually suck at it a bit. I've always done well on Halo before online (like, 1.5ish KD ratio sort of area) but right now it seems to be very kill for kill. In fact, I actually have 304 kills to 300 deaths as it stands, which is basically the definition of kill for kill. I never have standout great games but likewise I never seem to have awful games either. I think a lot of it is down to the much faster pacing... the sprinting, mantling, and generally smaller maps just means that my general thing seems to be to beat somebody in a 1 vs 1 and then have some dick come around the corner and finish me off.

Sucking aside, I do still love it!

Not a fan of it if I am honest, it seems like a tablet OS. Far too large the icons for a TV, feels like wasted space, also I don't buy the speed increase as the kinnect voice commands seem noticeably slower to me, and that is mainly what I used.

Is anyone using it? I still have my 360 and it still gets a decent amount of use due to the games I got and either never played or finished.

Wish they'd pay less attention to the arcade games and start chucking games that people actually want onto there. I'm still waiting for fucking Skyrim to get on there as my 360 is near enough fucked and doesn't want to play it any more.
