Watching programmes on youtube I watched as a kid.

Today = Bagpuss.

Was TV better then? or is that what everyone thinks as they get older?, there was so much variety despite only having 3/4 channels, now theres 100's but all the shows seem alike. Although in 80's we were watching some tv shows from the 60's and 70's.

Even good trash TV is timeless like. I've just remembered a Channel 4 show called My Online Bride featuring a few blokes from non-league towns searching online for young Thai/Ukrainian women who share their "old-fashioned take on life" (translation: do all my cleaning and make all my meals). I think the oldest bloke went for this single mother who he took to central Bangkok and they showered each other in broken English compliments all day. Then near the end of the programme he arrives home and it emerges he wants him to send her money for her children and the upkeep of her house, and all of a sudden he calls it off and, newly impassioned, he tells the cameras that the whole online bride system is morally wrong and men who order these women are a disgrace to their sex. The C4 cameras then visit all the blokes again a few months on and it turns out he's still glued to his computer, slobbering over Asian women 20 years his junior.

As I said, classic.

I got some Green & Black's for Christmas. That one and the Butterscotch one were my favourites by a long way.

I invented a new word today. It's been nice and sunny the last couple of days in Bristol and I've been outside most of the time and have started feeling very ..... like Spring is here. I was trying to think of an appropriate word to describe it but couldn't. Springy sounded like I was bouncing and Springful like some shit metal-ridden sofa.

And then it suddenly occurred to me that I was feeling positively springtumnal.

I was so pleased with myself that I have now taught it to three Spanish girls (they think it's a real word).

Just a quick update on my new word. Right, I woke up with the sun shining in through my window, and sort of shuffled myself upwards on the bed safe in the knowledge that it was a glorious Saturday morning and I was feeling springtumnal. Yet, somehow, it felt too safe, too glorious. As if the word was a pre-existing one, or even worse a commonly used one that I'd just never encountered before. So, i thought i'd seek some reassurance and brought in Doctor Google, who while not confirming it as a full on googlewhack, did inform me that it had only been used 7 times previously on the interweb. (as a point of reference autumnal has 8.45 million hits, and my previously invented word Pinger (an amalgamation of a ginger person wearing purple, particularly common at summer music festivals) has 9.5 million.

edit: i think that story was going to continue, with real life anecdotes and stuff. but hey, springtumnal happened.

Been a while since I did nothing on Sunday but today has been a good day. Other than going down the shops quickly and then making a chick-pea curry for myself I've literally sat and listened to Techno music while playing Football manager. :)

Also I like the clocks going forward, I love long days and darker mornings. Ideally I would like it to get dark around 11pm and light around 9am though.

Lazy Sundays are the best. Was also on the FM and (takeaway for me) curry diet although I suspect something altogether more MAUDLIN was playing on the Pineapple jukebox. A few ales, a few glasses of red, some Inspector Morse - great times were had by all (me).

AND I was off work today so this was all sans the IMPENDING DREAD which usually visits me on a Sunday eve

The new shoutbox, particularly that I can't check the archive to see how much of a penis I came across as the night before.

I love the Shoutbox but I have one gripe. The fact that when you are trying to read what was said previously and a new shout is posted, it takes you right back to the bottom. Grrr.

Pudding, chips, peas and gravy from the chippy. I don't expect you southerners to understand how good this is. Got a mate who lives in London and he says its nigh on impossible to get proper gravy/peas from chip shops.

What do you mean by pudding? If it's what I'm picturing I have never seen one in a chippy
