Nah, neither brandy or cognac can hold a candle to a large Oban with no ice at the end of a shit day. They're too sweet for me to enjoy that much, even the expensive ones.

I got a bottle of Makers Mark for my 40th. I quite liked it, but it was gone in less than a week. If I really appreciated it it would have lasted 2-3.

I did that with Southern Comfort. Got completely trousered one night on a bottle and was ill for about 3 days. Despite the fact it happened about 25 years ago just the smell makes me sick now. No loss, it's overly sweet shit anyway.

mine was tequila. tequila doesn't really have the breadth of taste or depth of whiskeys and bourbon tho, so i'm ok with that. going off bourbon cause u necked the shit stuff as a young'un is a crying shame

best drink i've ever had bar none was a kentucky bourbon barrel. beer brewed in a bourbon barrel (duh). still have dreams about it was unbelievably fine

Pagnell have you ever tried Fighting Cocks bourbon? My friend in America sends me a bottle once or twice a year and it's the best i've tasted and i've sampled a few. ;)

It was JD that done me in as well. Could have at least gone out in style with something classy. Ah well, you live and learn.

JD sour mash is common shite and it's to be avoided like the plague on it's own. But I still like it with coke when I'm in the mood, something you should never waste a decent single malt doing or even a decent bourbon.

There's definetely cognacs that get too sweet, Martel being one but Courvoisier is much better in that regard. Probs my favourite if we on't go into the expensive stuff.

G.B I fucking did a similar thing but with a bottle of Bells mate! I nicked it outa my dad's storage in like year 11 or saink and got absolutely plastered. Never again I said.

Captain Morgan spiced is nice.

Free meals at the companies expense, I'm going to be half asleep on the train tonight by the time I've finished. I'll be having the 10oz fillet please. Oh, and a double Macallan.

I did that with my grandads OVD and Bacardi, used to nick them and drink them straight just to get hammered when I was 14. Put me off them for good. Bells and the cheap stuff are poison though, you can't beat a damn fine whisky, there isn't a lot of things better in life than a dram of a first rate whisky.

Received a cheque for £102.00 from Bristol Wessex Water today, no idea what it's for i guess i must have been overpaying, might wait a few days to cash it though in case it's a mistake.

Being able to cut my own hair and style my beard. Saves the trip, wait and money plus I can go over it as often I'd like.
