That 20 people liked Spire-ite UK's post about becoming a Dad in the other thread. A nice reminder that this forum isn't always a hate-filled couldron of negativity.

And roasted beetroot. Hugely underrated.
Beetroot soup is astonishing. If people had that twice a week, they'd live to 200 easily.

Apparently Bowie often lurked on his own fan messageboard, under the alias Sailor & directly reply to users.........

Lying in bed awake cosied into the duvet and listening to the howling wind outside....knowing I don't have to go out into it.

Getting my 13:45-21:00 Sunday shift at work toiled off this weekend, now I can watch the football live rather than having to try to avoid anyone who might mention the results!

Start of a 4 day weekend. Wife's at work today so no stupid shopping, DIY or putting some butter on the dog's boil.

Get stuck into my Xmas David Baldaci book, laugh at the Jocks and their weather, walk the dogs and then some crappy film on Netflix. Central heating's on high, some left over Xmas beer - life is good!

That is the most inauthentic thing I have ever seen in my life.
Reminds me of some tinned cheese that I bought in Caracas airport years ago (along with a pair of purple shorts and a peg bag) to use up some worthless local currency at the end of a trying trip.

I like how it was bought at Caracas airport but the tin shows...'The Great Australian cheese'.

Didn't notice that. I lived there for 2 and half years and can confirm I never saw the stuff.

The picture was of a generic tinned cheese, a concept that blew my mind, not the actual tin, to spice up the post. I seem to remember it had red bits in it and the taste was.....................................................unique. Apologies for embellishing.

I had a camera in those days and it took rolls of film, not plates, but we didn't tend to document experiences quite as fully as is common these days. If I'd taken a picture it would have probably been of the purple (swimming?) shorts.

Edit: Further research (+ dredging my memory) suggests it probably was Bega Processed Cheese (and the red bits were from another weird cheese related experience) - apparently a common ingredient of arepas rellenas in those days.
