Whilst there are some people out there who are homophobic, most people are like 'meh, who cares?'

Also, the term 'homophobe' is widely used and abused by people who cannot debate and instead sling insults in an attempt to 'win' an argument. I was called that term recently when I said that I didn't approve of a 15 year old boy dressing up as a drag queen (his sexuality doesn't bother me, his age was the factor in my comment). Apparently for not siding with certain 'right on' people I am going to be bombed...

Therefore if I have a powder-keg thrown at me and end up looking like a member of KISS... you will know that they have been successful.

Whilst I dislike homophobia and racism, as I consider both to be impractical and a waste of energy in the modern world, I also dislike the notion that I should be expected to care about somebody's gender. The fake pandering actually annoys people within the gay community - one of my friends recently commented 'I would rather be called Mark who is a builder rather than Mark who is a builder and also gay.'

As many people have commented, the whole shebang seems to have been done as a publicity stunt.

If it's genuine, I'm sure there's a book deal already sorted ie £££££. A tad cynical maybe but I just don't get the social media build up. There's really no need IMHO but, no doubt, this will be 'sensational news' as per the British press.

I don’t mind gay people. They are just normal folk after all. My arsehole is very Homophobic though. Personally I think they will get dogs abuse at games and it will be forever in the papers. Also I still think it’s illegal in Yorkshire to be Gay.

Hardly surprised, the media nowadays depends on stories like this as there's little investigative journalism these days.

They need 'outrage' and 'omg' stories, therefore things like this create a feedback loop and keep media people in employment.
