Seems Derby deserved their win last night but what a mare the linesman has had for their second and third goals - they both looked well offside, not even close (might be a case for a full back being out of the picture on the third but people there reckon that was more offside than the second).

The front line, or lack of, are dragging the whole team down at the minute. We've got a solid L1 base in defence and midfield but I dread to think what the latter feel when they look up and see no-one capable of holding a ball up, running in behind or carrying the ball up field. It just comes straight back at us with no way of sustaining pressure or keeping the ball in the oppositions half.

Doubt there’ll be many there for our game at least in the away end. Been a really expensive month and to be honest with the exception of the Wigan game the football is really drab. The manager / DOF etc can quote all the XG and ‘box entries’ whatever the fuck that is meant to indicate but people know what they can see with their own eyes and it’s really draining the enthusiasm.

Depends now doesn't it, if we can repeat the Wigan and Stevenage first 60 then we can at least enjoy the rest of the season and should pick up some wins, moving the ball fast and waves of attacks is what its about... if however we revert back to type and its all good midfield football but zero end product and slow paced then fans will get bored... The lack of effort and negative flat set up v Boro means although it was a free hit that Crosby probably has put some pressure back on himself and fans were visible frustrated, its a big week or two for him up to New Years Day, couple of wins in the next 4 and all is good. Lose all 4 or pick up the odd point and pressure will be back on.

All about momentum in the league now, we've got some with the two wins and the excellent performance last weekend so must build on it now to push on.

I have no idea mate, need a response from 2 consecutive losses, depends if you try and play or sit and defend for your lives

Lose our best player to what appears to be a foot injury, then moments later we are on the wrong side of a ball to hand decision. When your luck is out its out.

It's mental how stubborn and strict to the "we do things differently" thing the Exeter board are trying to be over Caldwell.

Exeter were (possibly excluding us at times over the last 18 months) the worst team I've seen at this level since we came up. Absolutely atrocious passing, consistently hitting it out of play, and a striker up top wearing 13 who looked very much like a sub goalie being asked to do a job in desperation. Surely they have to sack Caldwell.

As for us, Harris has got us looking like the team we were at the start of the season. 2 tough away games now, but a favourable run for 6 weeks or so after that, got a chance to get ourselves pretty much safe by the time we play Posh again in Feb, but still early days for Harris and we will need reinforcements up top quickly in January.

In what way do they try to do things differently?

Peterborough at home.

Unfortunately there’s next to no chance we get a result here. Full expecting us to be camped in our own half and lucky to have 30% possession. Only chance we have today is if Peterborough get an early red card or two. All about just getting to January for us now as I can’t see us getting another point (apart from maybe Boxing Day) until we get some reinforcements in.

Salop 0-3 Peterborough

By not sacking him. We haven't sacked anyone in over 20 years

Then I hope you keep that going because we would like to stay up at your expense. :ohy:

Oh, not you as well!

All the stuff about "yeah, but we had better xG than them" that Bloomfield has been coming out with during the current winless run has really only made things worse as far as the fans' perception.

Trouble is, it's our nG ratio (non-goals) that's been truly through the roof, and that's the one that fails to get results.

Anyway - I don't expect there to be many in the home end either. Our crowds are never amazing, probably the hardcore home fanbase is about 4,000, but our ponderous style of play and persistent failure to score is not good box office, and people may just go, "fuck it, I've got a hangover/last minute Xmas shopping/whatever" and not be arsed to go, so expect the home gate to be anywhere up to 1,000 less than that.

Points continuing to slowly add up under Harris. Good win.

Wasn't the most exciting game. Exeter added absolutely nothing. I've seen teams frequently make repeatedly worse errors or mistakes in games, but Exeter weren't like that they were just completely non-threatening or lacklustre. A better team could tear through them. I don't like to see people lose their job but that performance was crying out for a managerial change.

Loads missing today, no Arblaster, Uche or Ojo and have a few youth players to make up the bench.

Only positive is big James Wilson is back and on the bench for the first time in months but not much we can do to change it up otherwise. Central defender Lowe goes into midfield and Garrity drops back for the useless Loft to come in.

Big ask now id say with what we have available.

In a break with recent tradition we’ve decided to play a striker up front.
The problem is that striker is Ryan Loft.
I’m not hopeful.

Big Uche is ill but suppose if we can get half hour out of Wilson it will be a massive upgrade.

Our side is about as strong as it could be, aside from the absence of 'Ammers loanee Freddie Potts in midfield.

So no excuses.

But we're nowhere near good enough to take *any* game for granted.

Bit of a relief that the old boy curse is off the table if Uche's not in the squad.

Uninspiring game so far between two poor sides.

We've had more possession and shots, but as usual we haven't got any end product to show for it.

0-0 would be a fair final result on the balance of play, but I feel that we're huffing and puffing a lot and not making the most of being on top (in the periods when we have been) so maybe PVFC are keeping more energy in the tank.

Certainly wouldn't rule them coming back stronger in the second half.

Watching this on iFollow. That was utterly pathetic from us and it’s only luck rather than judgment Wycombe aren’t in front. McCleary is having his way out on the right for them. Maybe we should try this new revolutionary tactic and put an actual LWB at that position in Grant. Might be just me thinking outside the box.

Shout out to Gavin Massey for one of the worst crosses I’ve ever seen almost clearing the stand behind the goal on the one move we made. Steve Guppy he ain’t.

Have to say you look really poor. Thought you started alright actually but since we scored you've been all over the place. We've got to see this one out

We'll undoubtedly concede a really sloppy goal against you.

Well you weren’t wrong, our lad unmarked at the far post from a cross.

If nothing else the game’s livened up a bit since the goal, and you could easily get back in it.

Can hear the Vale fans there singing “Andy Crosby your football is shit”. Can’t say they’re wrong. Just constantly playing ourselves into blind alleys. It’s abysmal.

Terrible. Time to get Crosby gone. Typical Vale outplay and beat a side 11 unbeaten then roll over today.
