I do hope Cambridge United are not going to roll over next week.
We have a tricky home game v Plymouth so a win is not certain, I am just hoping Cambridge can at least try and get a draw v Burton!

Heart says we can still win the Title, head says Cambridge will roll over and Burton will be too strong!

Sorry, but have no doubt we'll roll over. The match will be a sideshow to continued speculation over "will he won't he go" for a manager and set of players who've earned our gratitude over the last 2 seasons but tested our patience over the last few months. (126 posts and counting on a "New Manager" thread in 24 hours).

Apologies to Burton fans for the disrespect implied by that observation, none intended. Come and enjoy your day and leave us to our circus whilst you are presented with the trophy.

I'm just hoping that none of our idiots decide to revisit old times and "defend our turf" whilst Burton enjoy their well deserved day in the sun.

We never seem to do well against Cambridge United, an odd thing happened way back in the 70's when the driver of the supporters coach pulled up at the Abbey stadium, we were actually playing at Cambridge City at the old Milton road ground !
Next Saturday I am hopeful that we will be very professional and get the win we need. There will be plenty of Brewers fans there that's for sure, I think we already had 14 coaches booked yesterday and I expect that number to grow significantly through the week. plus all the others who will make their own way. We could possibly be close to filling the south stand.
Hope the idiots don't turn up, have witnessed them previously.

Not expecting Burton to drop points but who knows. Any away game is a tough one to win, no matter who you play. Hopefully we can do our bit and put the pressure on Burton. Whoever does win the title will deserve it, shrews and Burton been the best 2 teams overall as the table suggests with the small gap to 3rd.

Would agree with that vanner, have been pleasantly surprised to read the credit given to the Albion on the blue and amber forum !
Respect for that.

I think we have a lot of respect for you as a club. You spend within your means and are very well ran with no debt. We are very similar clubs in that regard.

Well I think our record in these kind of games is pretty darn good, preston at home springs to mind and I'm sure there's others(some of my fellow u's who know their stats better than me will add the others) add to that our decent record against burton and you'd think we'd be in with a chance, something tells me though that this time will be very different, as habbinalan alluded too it's a bit of a circus down here atm, apparently everything will become clearer next week, we'll see.

Personally I do hope the shrews win it, purely for my own financial benefit.

Good luck all.

We also beat Dagenham in the last game of the season in 05/06(?) but they were already champions and were playing in their flip flops.

I think we might get smashed but we're also capable of winning games like this so anything is possible. Don't write us off yet. But thank god we don't need a result in this. ;-)

On the other hand, Brentford came to ours and got the result for the title in 99....Although stealing it off us is a little bit different!

Can't see us getting a win at Northampton with our injury problems, wouldn't matter if we did i can't see Tranmere beating Bury or Morecambe beating southend so play offs it is.

We have sold all our tickets. 1300, yet the stand holds 1600? Any idea why not the full stand capacity?

Can Cambridge fans enlighten me as to why your club will not give us any more tickets? Surely more revenue if you gave us part of the stand on the side. We could shift another 3-400 I'm sure.

Shrewsbury pretty much sold out the home end now, shame we don't have those corners filled in, I reckon we would sell a good 12/13,000 if we had the room. Should be a great day of celebrations no matter what the result is in either game. Good luck Burton!

May the best team win! Whoever loses out is still a winner as we both go up to league one.
Enjoy your bumper crowd - shame the forecast is iffy!

Yep. I'd love to win the title but the main aim was promotion. I don't think you'll find a Shrewsbury fan who would be bitter about you winning the title, that is unless you score a 99th minute goal again!

That's good to hear and beats the playoff following a few years back.

You've got the whole south stand, holds about 1400 I think, but you're not getting the south habbin, think it costs quite a bit to open that end up with the extra policing etc think Luton are the only ones get it recently even after nearly killing a copper.

I'm a little surprised you've sold out but fair play, home ends you go.

KTF.

I think the South Stand capacity is nearer to 1,500. I'm not sure why numbers are down to 1,300 unless we've got some of our own end of season activity using a block of seats. The South Habbin has been used regularly this season but in a planned way with plenty of notice. I guess it is a combination of staffing/policing issues and timescales - especially as the match is not all ticket for U's fans.

Thank you for the link.
We have actually sold 1400 tickets, I got that wrong. so I guess that's practically the whole stand.

Haven't we still got some season ticket holders in the South Habbin too? We sold a few of those during the Man U cash haul. So that's probably why you don't have it.

But there'll be plenty of room in there if you want or the main stand will be reasonably clear too if you want to sit. You can even buy tickets online and collect them at the ground on the day if you want.

I think all the 12 game tickets in the South Habbin were swopped out for NRE and North Habbin tickets. It's had no U's fans in it since I got back early March - but I seem to remember some away fans occasionally, possibly when we've had promotions in the South Stand.

I suspect that South Habbin may be initially closed but available for home fans (or just possibly Burton overflow) as part of a police approved contingency plan in the unlikely event that we have an unexpected big turn out on the day for a non-all-ticket match. I can't imagine what it would take to get an 8th (yes 8th) 6,000 plus attendance but I guess its possible. To think only Luton (just) got us there last season in league/cup matches and I think we dropped below 2,000 around 8 times in 2012/13.

6,000 plus becomes a possibility - provide you sell at least half of them.
Fuck knows how but I think we will. Maybe the abject apathy of the locals is starting to rise from the ashes. They just might have started to smell the coffee and realize that the Premiershit is what it is,and it might be good to support Burton Albion instead of all the twats that claim to be premiershit players.

We must be the only club in the league that in the town has hundreds of so called supporters of every club in the premiershit but most of them have never been further than the fuckin pub to see them play, and then call the Brewers for being some wank league 2 team.

Let's hope they stick by us come the cold nights of December, I doubt it, but for now let's enjoy Saturday and hope that it might be the start of something different.

I would think we will sell at least 2000 tkts now and possibly all off them. Which for us will be about 2/3rds of our usual home attendance.
Some glory hunters for sure but I think the Burton public have actually woken up and started to believe in the Albion.
It should be a fantastic atmosphere.

All home tickets sold for Saturday (8250 ish) and 1200 tickets sold by Plymouth. Only 300 away tickets left and it's a sell out. We need a bigger ground :P On a serious note I think we could have probably sold 15000 tickets for Saturday!
