We're all hoping Mr Stelling or another investor pulls through to keep you alive, best of luck

Thanks. It ain't happening, though. The owners are reluctant to allow anyone access to the books, so how they think an investor will take over is anyones guess. We have two away games coming up, which I think we will complete, but our next home game isn't until 17th Feb, by which time I think money will have dried up, no bills will have been paid, and the game won't go ahead.

Owners can’t prevent suitors from looking at the books.

Cheers all for the well wishes.

Have I said on here how much I love this league, the fans and teams that play in it? I even love the refs as well. Everything and everyone is fucking brilliant.

It's an excellent league and I still miss it.

Hopefully things will go right for you and you won't go pop. Starting again is fun though.

We have a Chester Fans United (CFU) meeting at the club tonight when the 'directors' will tell us how bad our situation is. Our CEO Mark Maguire will step down on April 1st. Most of us fans thought we had no debts and a contingency fund of £100k, but this is probably not the case. Since we became fan-owned in 2010 the calibre of director has gradually gone from superb to abysmal. The fact that if they have allowed the rainy day money to be spent without consulting the fans it may result in a bloodbath tonight. Fortunately I won't be there to witness it as I've come down to Berkshire early for our game at Maidenhead on Saturday. Depending on how bad the situation is there could be two clubs facing the unspeakable.

Absolutely criminal if that happens again. A phoenix club should always be run within its means. I joined your trust back then to donate some money to get you going.

Lots of bad decisions have been made at executive level. Extending both Burr's and McCarthy's contracts cost us too much money. McCarthy should have been sacked at the end of last season, but he was given our biggest budget to date and spent it all on 8 journeymen, expensive signings and they have all failed to make any impression. The budget included £125k which we got for youth team graduate Sam Hughes. That money, it was hoped, would be kept back for capital projects. The only hope is that we can see the season out and get rid of the 4 of the 5 players who are on 2-year deals and rebuild in the league below with the likes of Astles, Jones, Crawford and Archer being the spine of the team.
