The Fox and the Hound proper got to me as a kid, the whole friendship thing. I think it's a fantastic Disney film, criminally underrated.

Im gonna put it out there. Bambi was shit. I was one of those kids who saw every single new Disney film at the pics, and watched their entire back catalogue on dodgy knock off VHS tapes. Bambi wasnt just rubbish compared to all the other good ones Disney did...it was just rubbish. It was the 5th one they ever made after Snow White, Pinocchio, Dumbo and Fantasia...where the hell did it come from? Its just dull, and despite the notion that every child cried when his mum died, I think its possibly the only Disney film that never made me cry! And I include most of the ones I only saw as an adult too...so his mum gets shot? She's a deer, it happens! Not like she was murdered and betrayed by her brother like Mufasa. Or imprisoned in a cathedral and murdered by a priest like Quasimodo's mum. Or turned into a monster and asked to find someone who loves him like the Beast. Hell, what happened to Dumbo's mum was more traumatic!

Oh, and Fox and the Hound...there was tears...that bit when she takes the fox back to the woods...bawling like a baby...

Oliver was one of mine. One of the first I ever had on video, and like most of the Disney films in the late 80s/ early 90s, had a great soundtrack. How can you go wrong with Billy Joel and Huey Lewis?

It's not for kids let's put it that way. Watching Bambi and The Jungle Book you just know which one is a life lesson that animals are killed by humans and which one is a fairytale of a young boy getting raised by a pack of wolves, a bear and a panther. The tiger is the only one with half a brain in that film!

I voted for Cars 2 and yes only because I had to get every pixar movie except Ratarubbish.

Accepted it would be low but not sure how Monsters Uni, Brave and Bolt finished so low. Think too many people are voting from their childhoods rather than from watching with their kids now, that's were the real value in Disney is (your kids faces and memories of watching the films not your own!)

I love Return to Oz! Would have defo made my list if I was including live action films. Mombi and the Gnome King are pretty boss villains and the Wheelers and Deadly Desert were pretty damn scary. As much as I love Labyrinth, I think I was the only kid in our family who preferred this.

When they were younger we watched the likes of Cinderella and Snow White with them which they liked, now they can decide things for themselves they choose Merida and others over the classics, which tells me all I need to know. Plus when you have seen Brave more than Star Wars you learn to like it

Also... if The Incredibles isn't the highest ranked Pixar film then words will be had.

Top 50 countdown​

50th) Holes (8) (10) = 18​

I've never seen or actually even heard of Holes but two people thought it worthy to put around the middle of their top 20 list. It boasts a pretty impressive cast with a young Shia Labeouf and Sigourney Weaver in prominent roles. The basic premise of Holes is Labeouf's character being sent to a desert detention camp to dig holes for a mysterious reason. I might give this a look.

49th) Aladdin: The Return of Jafar (19)

I await a pasting from some people for putting this second on my list but I bloody loved this as a child, even more than the original. Jafar was one of my favourite characters from a Disney film and to have most of the movie based around him was heaven. It is a drop in quality from the original if I'm being brutally honest but Jafar is just awesome in this. The end scene as well where the land ends up collapsing into the lava, just epic.

Iconic Disney song

This song is one of the best parts of the film. Having no Robin Williams to play the Genie was a blow and the soundtrack in general wasn't as strong in this film. However, they absolutely nailed it with this. If you haven't seen the film, at least listen to the song, if only for the line "GRANNY'S GONNA GRAB YA!!"

48th) Homeward Bound (20)

Yeah this is me again. Possibly my favourite movie as a child. Everything about Homeward Bound ticked the boxes for me. Loveable animals, check. Adventure in the wild, check. Superb voice actors for the animals, check. Near death and dramatic events, check. A tear jerking ending, check. I actually wore my video copy of this out as a child as I had this on so often. I bought it on DVD the other year and took it into school to put on for the last day of term. I converted 30 children who had never heard of Homeward Bound to Homeward Bound fans. The world will be mine (evil laugh).

We had to read Holes and watch the movie at school. Strange that a teacher hasn't seen it before. It's not too bad. Before Shia Labeouf went a bit mental, but didn't make my list.

I haven't watch Homeward Bound for years.

Love the Return of Jafar GIF! For some reason, that image of Jasmine morphing into Jafar always tickled me! Great song as well, Id forgot all about that! The only downside of Return of Jafar was that it spawned numerous straight to DVD sequels that were pretty much all shit. None of them were as good as that.

4 of mine gone so far. Can't believe no one else went for Lilo and Stitch, bloody outrage! Dead Man's Chest was mine, I'm a bit weird in that I preferred that to Curse of the Black Pearl (Davy Jones was just a fantastic villain), though both made my list. Love those movies, had to get them in somewhere but I found them the hardest to place, so different from everything else on there.

Monsters University was mine also, not a patch on Monsters Inc but still very enjoyable in its own right. And finally The Fox and the Hound, echo what's said above it's a classic old Disney movie, real tearjerker

Joint 47th) Inside Out (2) (19) = 21​

Pixar's newest release boasts very impressive reviews and critical acclaim. A joint 47th position will be sure to rise when this feature is inevitably rerun in the years to come. However, as the film is still at the cinema, I reckon quite a few are still yet to see it. Perhaps those who have seen it can give us some views?

Pocahontas....... The premise of the film just never appealed to me in all honesty. Still, it proved to be quite a popular Disney film of the 90s. Two people here thought it was worthy of a place inside the top 50. Views please?

Iconic Disney song​

Now I've never seen the film, but I've certainly heard the song. Colours of the Wind won an Oscar, a Grammy and a Golden Globe in 1995. It's not the most sing along of songs but it's lyrics are certainly very poignant and Judy Kuhn does a great job vocally.

45th) Cinderella (15) (3) (5) = 23​

I haven't seen Cinderella since I was very young so my memory of it is quite sketchy. Plus it was more of a girly film so never particularly appealed as one that I wanted to rewatch over and over. Still, it remains a classic fairy tale for children and the original film still stands up well as a classic today.

44th) Pete's Dragon (16) (6) (3) = 25​

I haven't seen this for nigh on 20 years now. I'm really struggling to remember much of it. I'll let those more qualified than me talk about this. One thing though, Disney are remaking this with the film expected to come out in 2016. Hopefully that will expose the original to more people.

Iconic Disney song​

Every Disney film needs a cheesy song. Candle in the Water was nominated for an Academy Award back in 1977. Lyrically it's very simple but you can imagine that for it's time, it certainly had a lot of 'sing along' appeal to it.

The Return of Jafar is probably up there with the best sequels. It's not as good as Aladdin sure but hey what is? Iago turning good, Jafar being more powerful than ever, the short fat bloke (Abis Mal which is a great name) brings a good addition. The characters have evolved into something quite cool and the movie doesn't disappoint. I'd put this over the drivel that is Pocahontas.
I have got to watch Homeward Bound again. When I watched it, the VCR was still a trendy thing and my English wasn't very good. I do remember enjoying the dialogue between Sassy and Chance:
S: And at least we don't drink from the toilet!

Cinderella's pretty cool as well.
