Weathered Readings early pressure. Jesus they are full of sprinters.... So quick.. However.. Kamara are Lane are bang in form. 2 of the best wingers in the league. Kamara 3 assists today and Lane scoring. Lang carrying on his good scoring for us since signing. Gutted Derby sneaked it at the death. Charlton away next..

The race for the autos really hotting up after yesterday's results. I still reckon 90 points is the target, which is good enough 90% of the time (last season was a bit of a freak).

We have a lead but also possibly the toughest run-in. Still need to go to Bolton, Peterborough and Blackpool. Derby, Barnsley and Oxford still need to come to Fratton. We have a good record against the other top teams so far though.

The top 4 have the potential to be bunches up quite nicely heading into the final 10 games or so.

Portsmouth's 10 draws will either get them over the line because they've kept ticking over, or be a curse.

We've still won the most out of anyone and lost the least and conceded the least amount. Those frustrating draws at home to Chelthenham and Fleetwood, last minute equaliser v Charlton could be a our undoing, but our away form is only bettered by Leicester in England. Think thats 11 clean sheets away from home in 17

I'm hoping that fightback last night will help us kick on now, goal difference could be key here though, and we have the worst out of Derby and Barnsley.......I expect Pompey are up now

I've also added in 7th, 8th and 9th placed teams, just to make it more interesting

Apart from Barnsley with 11 matches left, only Derby have less then 5 out of 10 matches against teams in and around us...going to be an interesting finish

Cheers. Interesting stuff. For us, I reckon winning 5 out of the remaining 10 games will get us to 91 points which should be enough. 6 wins for 94 to be safe.

Second weekend in a row where we have a tougher game on paper than our rivals. Blackpool took us to the cleaners at Fratton back in November. Now we have to tackle their excellent home record. It's a good chance for Bolton, Derby and Barnsley to choose t the gap.

Another big midweek. We're at home to Burton and it's really a must win with the tough fixtures we have coming up.

Derby should beat Reading who seem to have dropped off recently. Bolton really need to beat Oxford to get themselves back on course but it won't be easy.

Peterborough have got themselves back in the mix after recovering from their recent blip and should have enough to beat Stevenage on Wednesday.

Barnsley are the only team having to travel. If you need an opponent to help you get your confidence back then Carlisle certainly fit the bill.

All in all, the top 5 are all expected to win so whoever doesn't could take a hit.

Still a difficult one to call with Barnsley and Posh having games in hand.

I think I'm correct on saying Barnsley's game in hand is Stevenage, and Posh's are Stevenage and Fleetwood?

Looks like Portsmouth are pretty much going to be promoted.

Could do with more in the Championship forum!

Unfortunately as far as that forum is concerned Port Vale seem to have left their late season surge a little late.
Still the Championship's gain is L2's loss.
(Always assuming of course that the EFL doesn't overturn every dodgy goal scored against them and every refereeing mistake - if they do that they'll have already pissed this tinpot L1)

We’ve been terrible for the most part of the season and have the best goal difference in the league.

I think it’s easy to call it that this League One season might well be the worst in history?!

I'm assuming you're basing this on all of the two seasons you've spent at this level? Whatever. Can't you stop moaning and just enjoy your likely promotion for once? We certainly are.

Looks like it is done and dusted for the automatics and the four play-offs. I have said it before on here i am not convinced we are ready for the Championship with our current squad and management. I think it would take a very good team to beat us over two legs with the players likely available to us come May. And again on a large Wembley pitch. So we may still get promoted if that happens Evatt deserves another season. Most of our players are signed on for next season along with half a dozen long term injured.
As a club we are still progressing. Sometimes you need to go one step back to go two forward

I'd rather you came up than Peterborough or Barnsley, who seem to yo-yo constantly.

That 6th playoff spot is wide open though, with five teams in the running. If Lincoln continue this ridiculous form then they will be a very dangerous team to face.

Between 4 or 5 teams currently for 6th place.
Most home fans in the ground since the Cowleys era, helped by kids for a quid, but a great effort nonetheless

Thought i'd look at this more whilst watching the Man Utd Liverpool game ...

I've looked at points since 2009-2010 (excluding covid season) to look at how many points will see you as champions, gain automatic promotion and also playoffs. This is not necessarily the figure teams ended with, but what is required. E.g. Plymouth were champions last season on 101, Ipswich in 2nd on 98, therefore 99 would have secured the top spot.

I've popped next to each team their season PPG figure, and last 10 too.

Using the same format as League two...

93 - Predicted Champions
92 -
91 - Average Champions
90 -
89 -
88 - Predicted Automatic
87 - Average Automatic
86 -
85 -

83 - Portsmouth (39) [Season PPG - 97, Last 10 PPG - 99]

78 - Derby (39) [Season PPG - 92, Last 10 PPG - 93]

74 - Predicted Playoffs Bolton (39) [Season PPG - 87, Last 10 PPG - 84]

72 - Average Playoffs
71 - Peterborough [Season PPG - 85, Last 10 PPG - 83],
Barnsley [Season PPG - 85, Last 10 PPG - 86]

Stevenage [Season PPG - 73, Last 10 PPG - 68]
60 - Blackpool [Season PPG - 70, Last 10 PPG - 69]
59 -
58 - Leyton Orient [Season PPG - 68, Last 10 PPG - 69]

Apologies if any mistakes have been made!

Definitely want Lincoln or Oxford to come up. Haven't been to either and imagine they're both very good away days. Orient would be decent too.

Our ground is a 10 minute walk away from the city centre.
Quite a choice of pubs nearby and a fanzone at the ground.
Sadly some pubs near the ground are home only.

Ah really, never been. Is the ground nowhere near the centre?

Nowhere near anything. Miles from the station, miles from any amenities or good pubs, miles from the university or any of the picture book architecture. And it only has 3 sides. Definitely top 10 in worst away days; probably top 5.

Its the typical new build on a Retail Park on the edge of town.

It makes for a horribly awful home experience let alone a good away day! If the new ground goes ahead that might be a different story.

Not that it matters, we won't be going up anyway!
