I'm talking about dealing with his failure by trying to overcome it. By listening to the criticism and make improvements for example. He's not doing that by saying he's given it his best shot (he clearly hasn't after just 6 episodes) and walking away from it.

But putting that aside, I do think his decision is the best for the show. Matt LeBlanc after a shaky start is capable of being the main man I reckon, and Chris Harris and Rory Reid have been very good, albeit from what appears to be a serious, less "fun", car review perspective. I predict series two will be better, providing they don't bring in another alpha male.

Heard some talk of Button, were he to finish this season which surely he will.

Not sure which would be more tempting: following Formula 1 around the world as a pundit or dicking about in supercars. I suspect the latter if you've already lived the life....

Button would be a good choice if it were to happen, him and LeBlanc on an equal footing which never happened with Evans who you imagine thought of himself as being the number one. Half the issues were probably as a result of him being the only one on the team that thought that.

Button would also offer a perspective that hasn't been on Top Gear since Tiff Needell left, namely a proper driver offering opinions on cars.

Tiff Needell was never a proper driver tbh was he. Any time he raced, he crashed! Can drift like no other however.
