Chesterfield v Burton

We have another injury in Novak to report - adding to the countless ones we already have had this season and the countless other players playing unfit.

Burton usually beat us at our place, dont expect this to change.

2-1 Burton.

Will be a very tight encounter I would imagine, we are due a draw this season and this may just be the game.
Although compared to other clubs in this division our away support is fairly small, by our standards we will probably take a fair few, around a 1,000 or more I suspect. Already got my tickets and taking an 11 year old lad to his 1st ever Albion away game. For one week at least we will be able to sing " we are top of the league" !!!!!

You should have the most you've ever taken in the Football League, surely?

Not much more than half an hour on the train.

Dunno about the match itself but I'm not overly hopeful.

We took 2,000 to Cambridge last match last season, sure we will bring plenty but not sure we will make a total like that.
If we play anything like we have been then you will be in for a tough game but football being as it is I wouldn't like to predict, could go either way but will be a close match.

Burton, top of the league?

I guess by not looking at the table lately 'cos of our own poor results you miss things like that........what the fuck are they doing? that's not what everybody agreed to at the start of the season.

Seriously though, fair play to 'em and surely it's only a matter of time before someone comes in for Hasselbaink, some record he has so far. As for the match, we usually save up an especially shit performance for when Burton come to Town. I didn't go to Coventry but apparently we were all sorts of awful then as well and in the two home games before that we twice blew a 2-goal lead so when you look at the evidence, you have to say the away win on Saturday looks favourite.

Hopefully we'll keep him another couple of months,by then the players themselves should know the systems to carry us forward.
Also don't know how much of this run is down to David Oldfield's input (if any) and whether when Jimmy goes he takes him with him.
As for the game heart says Brewers 1-0 head says Chesterfield win,you have to crash to earth sometime Saturday could be the day.

We seem pretty hit and miss but have been poor recently so can't see us troubling you Saturday.

I can remember when Ilkeston Town beat Burton home and away and not long before that when they weren't even the best team in their own telephone code area!

How times change.

Yes indeed ! We have made amazing progress over the last 10 to 15 years. I have been a supporter since the 1969/70 season when the club was in the Southern league Premier division, we only won 3 league games that season ! The position we now find ourselves in now we could barely even dream about in those days.

I would expect due to the fact its a short trip up the A38 and M1 and easy train journey plus you can buy tickets on the day that we will double the initial allocation. I know loads making the trip.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will eventually move on but not as soon as many predict, he appreciates what the club stands for and his chairman and it will only be to a massive club. We will enjoy him while we have him.
Safe journey to all making the trip to both sets of supporters.

So then, how long have we got to wait before it's ok to call out the manager for not being up to the job because, well, you know....

Firstly well done Burton, look a confident side and on that evidence should have a decent season. Another massive refereeing decision going against us (to my eyes anyway), O'Shea (?) wiped out in the box, nothing given, seconds later the ball's in our net and the game's lost, it's really shit but totally pointless moaning about it, nothing's going to change. Ref's in this league will always be gash and they know any shithouse performance will go without any sort of reprimand.

But in no way should that mask our own glaring shortcomings. 3rd home game running we've conceded a last minute goal, that's so fucking amateur. I have to say Saunders, i don't think this hoof the ball up to a 5 foot 6 striker tactic is going to bear fruit nor is the total inability to defend even basic situations, Talbot in particular looks lost, i don't know what's wrong there but he shouldn't be out on the pitch at the moment. I thought we were lucky to be going in 1-0 up to be honest but you take it hoping for better in the 2nd half, though within seconds of the restart they'd seen to that and were level and and after 2 mins of the second half they had carved out 3 clear-cut chances, what the fuck is he telling them to do at half-time?, if it's to come out and play like a bunch of morons then we fucking nailing it.

We've gone from a side totally at ease with the ball at feet last season to a side who now look shit scared anytime the ball comes anywhere near. Just need Dave Allen to come out and criticize the supports and claim it's a total mystery why we're not getting gates of 8000. "LOL", good one, Dave.

Thought it was a cracking game to be honest, gifting an own goal in the 1st couple of minutes but pretty much dominating the game after the opening 10 minutes. If we were more clinical the match would have been over at half time. absolutely deserved to win and great celebrations at the end.
Feel a bit for Spireite fans as I'm not sure what tactics Saunders is employing. Have some very good players but looked totally knackered.

Really was dire in all departments, tactics, fitness, conceded late goals again for 3rd home game in row.

Stand by my comments regards Saunders. Thought about going Crewe Saturday but hell naaaaaaawwwwww
