Well, 10 games in and we are joint second.

Still missing some key players, at no point this season have we had everybody available. There’s always 3/4 out injured.

I suspect we’ll fall away and finish around 10th, but still, it’s been a very good start.

I'm delighted how we are doing, especially after Martin walked away. Liam Manning seems to have slotted in pretty seamlessly. Whether we keep it up is in the stars but I'd say we have a good chance as long as someone higher up the food chain doesn't come in January with a wad of money for Scott Twine. He is ridiculously good and we are very reliant on him.

The rise of Scott Twine is amazing. I'm absolutely gutted he moved to MK and im hopeful we have a large sell on for him as he's already looking good enough for the Championship and that's not something many at Swindon would have said 2 years ago.

Some players just play better under another manager another system.....................Twine was quality at Newport and again when we played MK Dons at the opening game

He never really got a look in under Wellens and was shipped out on loan. It was only when he had his loan spell at Newport that suddenly it appeared we had a bloody good prospect on our hands.

I’d be gobsmacked if we are in the top six at seasons end. Top ten is a more realistic target. Our squad is a bit small, some of the starting eleven are looking knackered. Not enough of the experienced injured players are not close enough to returning. What is good though is that locals are supporting the club, I think all home league games have had a minimum of 11k present. Which is the first time for a very long time.

We’ve had a hit and miss start to the season, although I think we go in the play offs if we win our game in hand - against Sunderland.

Moore changed from 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1 vs Wigan and we looked better particularly in the second half. Gregory was more involved with Paterson supporting behind him and should have scored 1 if not 2.

With new players still gelling and Windass to come back I think we’re a step closer to finding the right system and will be in and around the play offs come the end of the season.

I would have said the team we have put together in 'normal' times should have a good shout for the autos but this season is going to be stupidly tough. Sunderland, Wigan, Sheffield W, Bolton and Ipswich will all be up there fighting for auto spots. Charlton still could get going if they dump Adkins and get their shit together. This league has some bloody big clubs in it.

Edited to add Portsmouth, sorry Portsmouth fans.

That's 7 clubs that really shouldn't be down at this level!

Starting to wonder if League One may now be our level. We seem to be miles away from the Championship on and off the pitch at the moment.

This is our 10th consecutive season in the lower two leagues and the people running the club don't seem in much of a hurry to get back there. Can't say that the fans feel the same way, obviously.

It's very early days, but I'm getting a distinct 2004/05 Championship vibe to the league table. Safe to say I'd snap your arm off for that come next May.

Wigan are a small club. As if you got to Europe and played Maribor, Rubin Kazan and Zulte Waregem. CRAP
I smacked fuck out of the Goons top boy Carl in a one on one outside Kings Cross.

Don't rule out us making a late dash for the top six.
Still 32 games to go and if we won them all we'd almost certainly be Champions but that's obviously a real long shot. More realistically the top half dozen is the target I think.

Two seasons in a row we're above the best team in the League.

*NOTE: I fully expect Bolton to finish above us this season

That's a shit hot top 9 there with probably us and Plymouth the weakest on paper. Plus there is still the possibility of Portsmouth, Charlton and Bolton getting up there with a January wiondow to strengthen. League 1 must be the strongest I have seen it while we have been here.

This is my take on Bolton............I always maintained last season we would be promoted.
I knew come the window we would just bring in what we needed to get out of a poor lge2.
This season we cannot do that even though its a poor lge1. Wigan, Sunderland and Rotherham will get the pick of any decent players come January and we will be better waiting until the summer to rebuild because last count we had 22 players out of contract we have since got rid of Crawford,Sarcevic,Comley and Greenidge....Three of those 4 simply not good enough. We have a further 4/5 players out on loan of which Darcy and Politic are certainly good enough for lge1.
Evatt has been unlucky with injuries mainly Ameichi on loan from Hamburg who paid a 7 figure fee from Arsenal and is a u20 England player.Gethin Jones who has stepped up well and has been out over a month and not due back until December.
We are paying the price for last summers woeful recruitment and that will not be remedied until the summer.
I have to laugh when the person who is currently poking fun at Evatt and Bolton supports a team in the part time pop and crisp league........wonders if the players pay subs over in cleethorpes.

Then we have Cheltenham known the world over for Horse racing.......ffs

PS...........we have a player who we will sell for more than the combined Grimsby and Cheltenham teams put together.

In 4 days, that horse racing gets as many attendees as Bolton did in 19 games (cumulatively*) in their last run in the Championship.

At least the town is known for something.

*That means added up all together Masi.

Not sure we have the funds to strengthen too much unless we can ship one or two out. However, we struggled to move any contracted players out in the summer and I'm not sure this season's performances have changed that situation.

The No.1 priority is centre-half. After that it will be to try to strengthen up front. It will be interesting to see what happens with the two strikers we have on loan - Gassan Ahadme and George Hirst. Neither have impressed and may move on somewhere else, freeing up a couple of loans for us.

Realistically, I don't see us troubling the top six as there are some really strong teams this season who are, frankly, way better than us. I think top ten will be fine as long as we look like we're progressing. The Cowleys will be judged on next season when they have their own squad of players and don't need to shoe-horn in the remnants of Jackett's team.

Big chance that Sunderland won't make Top 6, Lee Johnson goes on too many losing streaks.

Bolton is also famous for having the thickest poster to ever post on a football forum, quite an achievement given you’re up against stiff opposition in Devon_Lad.

By all accounts i am at number 4 behind the infamous Scunny Pacifist.......Scrub that moved up to number 3 though a country mile behind the two bellends known as GTFC Fish and Robshep

Its Friday and the last time i looked you was still in the pop and crisp league and Robshep was still Ballooning in Lge 2 so all is well
