Before making a proper decision on the future of TPLG, I'm just trying to work out how many of us made it across here and we'll go from there.

In terms of the current week (22), I have entries for everybody except Sideshow Bob - the cached page on Google from that thread is just before you posted yours (I assume judging by it saying you were viewing the thread). So unless someone else is able to recover them, we'll have to come up with something.

16/33 + 2/4. Less than half, makes it difficult to just try and continue it as it was. If any of you can get hold of those missing, it'd be greatly appreciated. Not sure what to do - mass exodus but see the season out OR end season 8 with TFF and maybe start anew. Let me know what you think. With an FA Cup weekend coming up, we've got a little of time to come to a decision.

I'd personally like to carry on since Justin and Veggie who made up the top 2 are still here but that's from a selfish perspective.

I'm open to either but it'd be ashame for the game to stop as it's excellent. I know it must feel like a kick in the teeth mind Munks. Let's see if we can get any of the old lot across.

I have tried to send Grecian O'Grecian a PM on the exeter forum, it might be worth starting the game again and lots more people would enter ( I would enter the league for example)

I'd love it to carry on also - but I would say that because I'm obsessed!

I think it important to note that I am now here and wish us to carry on with TPLG from where we left off, with me being 200 points clear in 1st place.
It's only fair.

I'll be good with continuing, but it won't be easy with lots of people now gone

I'd like it to continue but might be quite tricky.

I'd quite like to continue the current season if possible.

Pity that some sort of email database isn't available from the old forum.

Can only echo the others, I'd like to see it continue as normal but it's your call. Pity about the amount of people that haven't made their way over.

I'm leaning towards just carrying it on as it was and keeping those that haven't made it here yet in by reusing their latest selections each week until either they find us or the season ends. Not ideal but I don't really want to remove people when their absence is no fault of their own and this would mean that they should pick up the odd point here and there rather than scoring zero every week. This way, if they do happen to turn up, they have the option to carry on. Kinda feel I owe it to some of them to keep their spots open - Chrismcfc & Tony Clifton (have played 7 out of 8 seasons), danbylfc (6/8), The One and Only (5/8 without missing a week), killerblaze, markpvfc & tommytez (haven't missed a week since joining Season 6), etc These are the kind of people who make running the game worth doing and I don't want to just delete them from this season. Any thoughts?

I agree that it's not really fair to delete people from the game when they could turn up here in the future. Reusing last picks seems as good as a solution as any, there's not going to be a really good way to do it.

I could just take over for them, til they get back? I'll have them all winning in no time.

Something I thought about but I think it would overly punish those having a bad week.

I did consider maybe letting other members "adopt" missing players but not really a fan of the idea.

I would just reuse their picks each week until they find us. Or if you want to jazz it up each week, randomly select 5 letters out a hat and a random score for the match scenario.

But you support Norwich, so technically you're already a fan of bad ideas by default.

Yeh, picking letters out of a hat is probably the best idea.

Does your little spreadsheet record the letter they selected each week? Can you just give them their top 5 selected letters over time plus Z (and a generic 2:1 scoreline)?

Yes it does. That's a good idea. Might go with that.

Hopefully Markpvfc signs up again. We appear to have lost him due to yesterday's drama.

So glad this is obviously being continued. A million thanks (again) to Munkiki for keeping it together.
I think whatever solution there is for the missing players, everbody affected will be fine with whatever solution is found.

Cheers for keeping this up,
Andreas

I'm In!!

Finally found this site after a few days of trying to find out what happened to TFF. Thanks for keeping this going Munkiki. I had no intention of giving up on TPLG..it was my primary motivation in finding and joining this forum

Glad you found us. Think that means we're only missing 10 now. Of the longer term regulars, still no sign of Chrismcfc, danbylfc and killerblaze. Not seen liu either yet.
