FGR all day long, in a lovely part of the country so a good away day with the kids.

I couldn't give a monkeys how much cash they have spent, any Barnet fan with knowledge of our history under Flashman in the late 80s know that we bought ourselves into the league only for the authorities to catch up with us.

You've never even played Tranmere in a competitive fixture before, at least give it a chance like! :gr:

Merseyside is more than just post-industrial depression. If niceties and lovely places are your thing, why not check out the West Wirral for your pre-match pints, a hidden gem of the North West and nothing like Birkenhead and it's only 10-15 minutes away. Failing that, even Port Sunlight is down the road which is a lovely part of the world too.

Who in their right mind would want that bank rolled, artificial non-entity driven by a weird egomaniac in the Football League? I mean I live 25 miles from their ground and I hope they never come up. 6 miles from the nearest train station, 1 mile up a massive hill from the nearest town and bourgeois Nailsworth just doesn't have the attraction of Prenton's finest working class pubs with their cheap pints.

As a proud Woolyback I show solidarity with my Tranmere brethren to end their exile but you just know they'll "do a Tranmere" and fuck it up...

Wait until you see the vision of the new ground Dale Vince is planning for FGR, a 5000 seat wooden design nearer the M5. They hope to be a championship club in a few years.

FGR because we need 6 easy points and it's not a 9 hour train journey.

I'm not naming any names here (ChrisFGR I promise no-one will know I'm talking about you) but one FGR fan known for his bullishness expressed his thoughts that FGR could well be the "English Hoffenheim" rising all the way from non league to Premier League........

LOL.

I once stayed at the Travelodge yards from that site and that also felt like it was in the middle of nowhere...

I went FGR in April to watch them play Chester as I thought I'd do a local neutral game and the ground is literally a Globe Arena South in an awful location. I just couldn't get excited about going there and hopefully we won't have to. That said, given Tranmere never give their fans anything to savour or smile about, it's blatantly obvious that we'll be playing Forest Green next season.

In fairness though I've noticed this season that most of the FGR lot on here seem to have calmed it a bit and most seem to take what's said in good grace, even ChrisFGR is happy to have a laugh at himself when he gets it wrong although it may be that I'm looking at them differently now because we are not in the same league and therefore not being as annoying as last season.

According to the tv during their live games in the play offs, FGR had a wage budget of £2.1 million last season, that would equate to how high in league two?

Probably top 3.

Not sure how they'd do that with fair play

Mind, we've got used to Accrington and Morecambe, and they aren't any bigger than forest green

Hello! :bye:

We haven't played FGR since the money came in but they used to be a friendly club and a nice place to visit.

The Tranmere fans I met were a decent bunch as well.

I'd be happy with either.

This decision is a bit like sitting to the table, listening to your parents talking about their day at work, whilst knowing that you have mountains of homework to do afterwards. Your teenage hormones are contemplating the least painful way to commit suicide, until you unwittingly pop a sprout in to your mouth and choke up bile on to your salt and pepper chicken.

Not that I'd know, as we didn't have a carpet, let alone a table and real meat.

It's all about drinking prospects for away days, the Cotswolds sounds interesting from a real ale drinkers point of view, Birkenhead is old hat, although a pit stop in Chester is possible then catch the Mersey Rail into 'tunnel rat' city. Chesterfield had some good boozers from what I remember, Burslem can be ok, Burslem Suburbia Club, went there to watch Vale as Seth Johnson was making his debut for Derby, all was going well with my Vale supporting pals until it was my round and the barmaid must have clocked my Crewe accent, the barrel shaped bint served everyone bar me, still a good pint though went it did come. I hope Blackpool stay with us, Blackpool is a hole and I have done all the plastic pint pot watered down lager shite as younger man, it's all about alternative Fylde now, Lytham and St Anne's, some good real ale spots, what fucking snobby twat I have become....

Tranmere obviously, but I'm not too bothered as FGR are going to come up sometime, it could be this year or 5 years from now. Does anybody really think Dale Vince will get fed up some fine day and walk away? He could but not until he brings league footy to Nailsworth.

my car broke down in some shitty side-steet in tranmere, due to a punctured tyre
after jacking up the offending wheel and removing the flat tyre...some scally jumped into the
front passenger seat and started to remove the radio.
"what the fuck do you think you're doing ??" i exclaimed in a state of surprise..
"well..if your nicking the wheels...then i'm having the radio...alright??!!"
So that's another vote for Tranmere then:bg1:?

Tranny, slightly closer, get good crowds, the closest team to Notts and at least it's near a decent city although the less said about Birkenhead the better. Plus this Dale Vince seems a bit of a weirdo.

For the Crown Pub and the pies within it , Accrington deserve to be exempt from relegation ....Morecambe is a great ground in a great town ..... why it's population doesn't support it is a mystery

Nearly every North West away is a quality old school away except Morecambe. Even Fleetwood is a good day out! Morecambe just seems to be the remnants of a 2000s minor pet project to get to the Football League whereas now their investment is lacking and they're a side who are just happy to stay up in 18th every year...

Tranmere. It's not even a contest.

Big club from the north west, with decent support and tradition of playing in the Football League v An advertising tool for an eco-maniac with fewer and quieter fans than Cheltenham's.

Tranmere all the way, the thought of Mordor, hobbits and Golem getting their hands on their precious, spreading the evil that is middle earth under the power of Ecotricity. This should strike fear into all of you. Save the pies and beefburgers, think of the Cheltenham keep the elves in fairy land. Oops sorry I digressed, basically as a Bristolian it's bad enough that Yeovil's a league team, without the eco experiment
up the road.....

It all depends on his Eco-Park. He gets that, he stays. He doesn't, then he's just throwing good money after bad.

I'm guessing Chris didn't get "TWAT" tattooed on his forehead after they lost to North Ferriby? For that reason alone FGR should stay down.

Tranmere. Because they are a proper league club who should be here, bringing all their fans and filling away ends.

Ive been to FGR and I've seen a lot of jokes about their food, i can tell you some vegan food is incredibly good! But i don't want a village pub team in league two.
