Gateshead fans - Is Nyal Bell surplus to requirements? He has caught the eye in his loan spell. Wouldnt be disappointed if we signed him on a permanent deal. Any chance of that happening?

Southport are apparently set to sign Gateshead keeper James Montgomery.

Sounds a bit silly but personally dont think it is that far fetched as it may initially appear....

His contract is up at the end of this season. When Jones came in as manager he wasn't first choice and was benched for a little while and I always get the impression that whilst he eventually won Jones around, he wasnt Jones normal "type" of centre half as he tends to prefer players who are decent with the ball at their feet. He picked up an injury in a game where we thumped Cambridge and since that time Glen Rea has somewhat established himself at that position, and is also a player who Jones loves, having worked with him at Brighton and brought him here to us. Centre half is also a position we will certainly be looking to strengthen and I would personally be surprised if we offered him a new deal.

I would have thought he would get a League 2 side with ease if he wanted it, but with his obvious connection to Orient, I wouldnt be all that surprised to see him sign for you lot.

We've apparently got 10 players lined up ready to sign - the chairman doesn't want a repeat of last season where Cox fucked off on holiday for the first three weeks of the transfer window and then signed up whatever shite was kicking about afterwards.
Kingsley James is almost a dead cert to sign - he's been a great player for us, which must be a bit frustrating for the Chester fans. There was also talk of Astles, though I think he might aim higher. Would also like us to go back in for one of the Newby brothers, as both would be useful to us now.

I'd be wary as Kingsley has a habit of being great the first couple of months or so and then starting to go missing.

He's tended to play at the heart of the midfield for us, and he works hard and gets forward a fair bit too. Maybe he will 'ease off' but he's certainly earned himself a transfer anyway.

To be fair I don't think he'll 'ease off' from doing that, my personal view is that whilst his effort can't really be questioned, he's just not that good a footballer. Always room for his type in many teams at this level though.

Salford City doing what they do and are ready to offer Michael Woods (allegedly) triple his wages here. He'd prefer a return to the football league though with Exeter and Stevenage monitoring. Unlikely to sign a new deal with us.

He has 11 goals from midfield but don't think he'd be a huge miss. Not FL standard for me.

Woods fits in the Jonathan Franks type of player for me, far too many off days overshadow the good games he has, 17 goals outta 131 appearances for us over four seasons, for an attack minded midfielder that is an awful return.

Heard a credible rumour about Jason Oswell (our former youth player) swapping Stockport for Wrexham now they've been knocked out of the playoffs tonight...

That’s been doing the rounds for a while. He will be leaving us that’s pretty certain.

Already doing the rounds on our forum. I can't wait for him to become the new Andy Rhead.

I've heard we're in negotiations with Dagenhams Michael Cheek and possibly Lee Brown of Bristol Rovers - Who wants to move closer back to the London area, not too sure on the Lee Brown rumour myself but thats what I was told.

That would be one of the signings of the summer if it came off. Brown that is!
