Happy for Kabby to leave if for the right money. JR will have a list of replacements ready to go out and get. Let’s be real, £1M from Kabby going and £6-700k from the Chelsea game is like a 50% unbudgeted bonus in the middle of the season. We could go out and seriously strengthen and still have over £1M banked.
Yep, spot on, good business if he goes for a good wedge ( with sell-ons ).

0.0000001% legit but one of those dodgy EFL transfer accounts has linked us with Dom Telford.

Probably someone we'd look at (who wouldn't), probably not someone we'd be able to pick up in January.

Never heard of Harry Caldwell. We do need a striker with it looking like curtains for Danny Rowe, but this fella doesn't sound a like for like replacement? But then who is really, Rowe is pretty unique playstyle isn't he.

I reckon Lincoln City will be in for him if and when they sack Appleton. Would be a good fit IMO.
Why on earth would he be interested in an outpost like Lincoln? If he gets Chesterfield up, he’ll be looking much higher, arrogant cock that he is.

Linked with Iboue Touray (Salford ) today.
If we sign the players we have been heavily linked with we will be looking good for the rest of the season.

Iboue Touray
Alex Woodyard
Lewis Guy
Joe Sbarra
Ollie Palmer
Well, you’ll certainly have to reinforce your bench….

Rowe harks back to a time when players had individual playstyles and everyone wasn’t coached to a system. Just wanders about and accurately twats it every now and then. Gutted he’s not been involved more this season and that things aren’t looking great for him.

He strikes me as a player with the ability to play at a much higher level but seems comfortable playing against guys he knows he is better than. Like a first team player constantly playing against the reserves. He knows he’s good so he can just swagger about and twat on in from 40 yards every now and again. It’s his world and everyone is playing in it.

Cardwell’s more than fine as a third choice behind the main man and Asante.

Won’t come cheap though Chorley have overvalued him ever since his FA Cup exploits.

We were absolutely desperate for a striker when Quigley was out for a few months and we were playing terribly but even we wouldn’t pay the price they wanted and we overpay for everybody.

There will obvs be outgoings. Jak mcCourt, Fraser kerr, joe Rowley, Rowe may well end up having to retire. Is croll out of contract in January? Any of these players could be out the door.

I’d expect the following to leave us too -

Reckord, Angus, Redmond

Rowley still injured so can’t see him going anywhere. Expect Croll and Kerr to stick around given their involvement in the first team and with Maguire and Hollis being a way off yet.

McCourt and Payne would be the two I expect to go, maybe one other suprise departure too.

Still not expecting Rowe to play for us again, or anyone for that matter. Very sad for him

We were linked with Cardwell in the summer but the rumour was we were priced out of it. Admittedly, our definition of priced out will be a lot lower than Chesterfields and it’s 6 months later so may not be that much anymore.

Very cute that you think this is how football financing works and you wouldn’t just received that £1m over like 36 monthly instalments

Also not sure about these repeated jibes around shit players Chesterfield have supposedly offloaded onto us. Joel Taylor is better than Miller (personal opinion) and Mitchell is a perfectly average striker to have sat on the bench and playing only occasionally because we have Rodrigues and Wootton. Maybe if Taylor wasn’t very good and Mitchell was our main striker, maybe then I’d get it.

then again, maybe they’re merely performing better for us because they’re playing under a better manager, perhaps.

Taylor wasn't bad for us at all, perfectly sound LWB in my opinion and I'd have been fine retaining him, Rowe saw an opportunity to swap him for Miller and took it, such is his cut-throat approach but anybody saying Taylor was poor doesn't know what they're on about.

Mitchell, meh is he actually performing better for you? Wiki says 0 goals in 10 games. As you say, average player, still young so should get better but can't ever see him being close to prolific. I would've preferred him staying over signing Stefan Payne.

Don't think you could make a case for either manager being better than the other so far, both doing pretty well, have to revisit that one at the end of the season.

Both Taylor and Mitchell have done fine. My only criticism of the former would be that he seems quite injury prone, but otherwise there’s not much between him and Miller for me, the latter is much better at dribbling one against one but Taylor is probably a bit more rounded and his final ball is better.

Mitchell’s got potential but is in an awkward spot because not only is Wootton obviously automatic first choice, he never gets injured even just for one game, so he’s pretty much had to make do with the odd cameo off the bench. Seems a bit unlucky too - had a chance for his big breakthrough moment against Wrexham but sees his shot punched off the line by a defender then immediately gets clonked on the head and has to go off with a concussion. He’ll get his chance whenever KW moves on and after a year of working under IB (who has improved Wootton massively), I wouldn’t be surprised if he does well.

Both are only seen as controversial moves because we paid small fees for them having not worked out at a rival, but that’s our model now. They’ll likely be on half the wages of the players they replaced, both senior ex-league professionals, and certainly aren’t offering us any less.

On the managers, I know RB was joking anyway, but they’re so different you can’t really compare. The way Burchnall has improved some of our players has been astonishing and we’re a joy to watch, but there’s still some bits around game management and that boring stuff where he’s not totally convinced and where I imagine Rowe excels.

Mostly just a bit of shit banter tbh, tonnes of it on these boards. In all seriousness, Taylor is alright, although couldn't hold down the LB pos at our place, he seemed to have bad fitness issues tbh. Maybe he's sorted that out. Saying he's better than Miller though is way wide of the mark, although I guess it could be a YMMV at a different place scenario. Miller is a serious player, essentially being paid to swap them was a total no brainer.

Mitchell, yea, I'd be surprised if he ever makes a footballer, that's just me being honest. Perhaps IB will show me why he's a professional manager and I'm not, but yea I'd question his judgement on that one.

Mitchell has actually scored 2, one in the FA cup v Tamworth and one in the league v Solihull. Would have been 3 if it wasn’t for WHAT LENNON DID on Sunday. Other than that, all the other stuff said about everyone is correct.

Mitchell will be shit for ages and then have a Jordan Bowery / Caleb Folan purple patch where it all comes together and some poor unfortunate championship club pays a fee for him.
