Aye, 20k the rumoured fee.
Whilst he hadnt always been the most prolific of strikers, you can guarantee 120% every game, no defence will have an easy ride, away fans will hate him and usually home fans love him. Was very sad to see him leave Chorley FC when he did, hope he does really well for Hartlepool.

Hurst said we tried to sign an attacking midfielder from a championship club this week but it fell through

Chesterfield fans - Nathan Tyson. Nearly 40 now. Has he still got enough to cut it at NLN level?
I reckon he's got something to offer still yea. It would be a bit much to expect him to be 'the guy' and play 90 minutes every game. The mind would be willing but the legs wouldn't let him. An option off the bench or the occasional start I still reckon he could do it. He's a credit to himself still playing at this age tbh, good guy around the dressing room

Set to announce Leon Davies - RB formally of Cambridge spent a brief spell at Weymouth earlier this season. Doesn't look too exciting on paper but 22 years of age beats signing 30 something has beens

He'll be better as Right Wing/Midfield or wing back. Defensively adequate but was probably the best crosser of the ball at the club and he usually got a cross in without needing to beat his man. Hope he's fully recovered from his injury and kicks on to a steady career at NL/L2 level.

Like most of our targets in the last 2 years, looks like he has had injury issues, but hopefully they are in the past. Has 42 L2 games under his belt, so good acquisition for this level you would assume. At 5'11'' a good height as well and probably our most urgent position to get covered off. Hoping we get this done in time for Tuesday.

Onwards and upwards.....

We play 3 at the back with wing backs so that makes sense

Entered the race for Cardwell according to our forum with Chesterfield still in for him and Fylde too.

With us and Chesterfield it might come down to who's got the comfier bench. Sounds like we both just want him for back up to our current strikers. Fylde he'd probably start. Decisions, decisions.

Underwhelming for me if he came here but it's a hard sell to tell someone they're joining as back up.

The back up part will always be softened by how much £ is on offer.

Been mentioned on our forum that Phil Parkinson is at the MK Dons v Wimbledon game. Hiram Boateng, Alex Woodyard and Ollie Palmer have all been linked with us.

Unbelievably, hot rumour has it that Scott Rendell is on his way back to the Rec. He was slow 2 years ago..

Port Vale left back Danny Amos signing today apparently, not exactly the forward player we desperately need but certainly an area in which we need backup

Only ever played for us in the Pizza trophy but seemed like he had something about him. Seems to have a good ability to get forward at least and decent on the ball. Just unfortunate for him with the position he plays we have four others who would get in ahead of him. Donny fans will probably give you a better idea though.

A reliable poster on red passion has said there's a strong possibility that Devonte Redmond is going to a national league north side on loan.

Are you in for him? I'd say he probably could, still fitter and faster than most.

What sort of player is he? We're in desperate need in squad depth as we have a lot of fixtures coming up so it could be us

A shite one.

Attacking mid.

shite one is probably harsh.

Ex Man U prodigy we signed from Salford after their promotion. has looked ok in fits and spurts but for whatever reason he hasnt settled in our squad and likely due to his form for us.

would probably do well at NLN level

Hearing a rumour we have another player coming in, possibly, but by no means certain, by the weekend in time for the Daggers game. couple of names mentioned, both from Premier league U23 teams:

Wraynel Hercules - who DC would have known from Barnet currently at Brentford.

Abu Kamara - currently at Norwich.

No it isn't, he's been crap almost every time he's played for us. He might've been a decent player when he had the motivation but he doesn't look arsed everytime we've given him a chance, and that won't change at NLN level. Crap.

In other news, Football League World are reporting that we've put a bid in for Vadaine Oliver.

Oliver was a big clumsy oaf with very few redeeming features when we had him, done very well for himself since though.

Yeah, from what I've been told he's done a great job as a target man for Northampton and Gillingham, and Gillingham appear to be in turmoil so this rumour could have legs. We could do with a big, physical presence up front alongside Mullin. I'd like us to sign 4 players and that role is one that I would like to see us fill. Could also do with a couple of midfielders and a left back.

Oliver is a head on a stick. He heads most things but with no sense of direction really, just there to create second and third balls. But if you've got Mullin buzzing around him, then it'd be a decent striker partnership I suspect.

No surprise he thrived at Northampton and Gillingham but didn't at Crewe.

Another big lad for Tozer to lob balls at, how uncouth and thuggish.

Cheers GTFCfish for that feedback.
We are certainly giving plenty of reason to be more optimistic for pulling away from the relegation zone. Also with the new coaching trio, there are definitely signs we are getting to grips with the league at last. We can't play Neal or Davies this weekend as they are cup-tied, but our next three league games are KL, Dover and Aldershot, so doing well there would push us closer to mid table. When we start playing teams nearer the top, it will be interesting to see how competitive we are, but if the games against Bromley and Yeovil are anything to go by, we are moving in the right direction.

We need a targetman type striker to go with Mullin seeing as Parkinson insists on playing 3-5-2 and nothing else.
