Steve Evans has activated the 12 month extensions to Ollie Rathbone an Hakeem Odoffin and said he hopes to sign them up to new contracts over the summer break.

That's good news as they should both shine in League 1.

Seems unbelievably fanciful to me, top player and would have thought if he were to leave Coventry it would be to a team of a much higher level rather than at best a sideways move.

Seems like Hull are triggering the option to buy Ryan Giles for us. Reputed that the fee is for £4.25m. Record signing for 5m and personally think we’ve done well to only lose 750k on him. Never really looked at home or comfortable here at all, didn’t have that aggressive approach to his game that we like to play with

Slightly surprised they’ve gone for it as he didn’t seem to pull up any trees in the loan and it’s a chunky fee for a LWB. We will almost certainly be in the market for a replacement this summer as imagine Doughty will be off and remain in the premier league.

With Lowe's comments about wanting more experienced leaders I would not be at all shocked if we make an offer to Windass. We've tried for him a couple of times in the past going back to his Accrington days.

Those two could really transform this team, however, they'll also want paying the going rate which will no doubt be the stumbling block. I don't rate the manager but this is the key difference between us finishing 10th-11th and nicking 6th.

We got promoted playing 352, it’s about the players fitting that shape though otherwise it can look way too timid I’ll grant.

Lots of people hopeful we will sign Drameh. I liked him hes by no means a flying wingback but very solid overall I think. Bad season with Birmingham though obviously has tanked his value, Leeds were asking for silly money last summer off us so we stepped away but will get nothing now.

Although not confirmed yet: A lot of talk around the club is that Warne has been ruthless with players out of contract and subsequently Wildsmith, who won the golden glove last season, has been allowed to leave. It also sounds like Vickers (back-up) is going too - assume back to Rotherham where he was well liked. He is under contract but I don’t think the club will stand in his way should he want a number one gig somewhere. He had a horrible year, with his wife passing.

A couple of different people have mentioned Daniel Iverson is coming in to be the number one, who was on loan at Stoke last season. I don’t know too much about him, think he did well at Preston a couple of years ago. He seems well regarded anyway.

Waghorn, Smith, Gayle, Hourihane, Loach and Wildsmith gone. Bird, Adams and John-Jules at the end of their loans.

We are potentially looking at up to 14 players and more if players leave. However, it has to be said that we needed better and younger players for the Championship so the plan worked out. Wildsmith a strange one because he’s barely put a foot wrong for us, bar some mad moments, but we signed him as he was released from a League One club to battle it out for the starting role for a club with no contracted goalkeepers. He performed to the point where he obviously wanted to be paid as a Championship number one. Warne obviously wants fundamentally a better goalkeeper, but yeah I can’t fault him in his time at Derby. There is talk he potentially lands at Portsmouth, but I thought they were happy with Will Norris? It will be interesting to see where he goes.

When Bradley turned up last summer, you could see how incredibly off it he was and as you say his mobility was a huge concern - as was just about every other aspect of his game. He struggled with fitness, obviously confidence was dented as everyone was excited about his signing was labelling as one of the worst players to ever pull on the shirt. Warne had to pull him from the team, use him sparingly whilst he got to grips and come February onwards then he was more so the defender we expected. Helped by both Nelson and Cashin who could well have been first and second best CBs in the league, but he stepped up when we needed him the most. Bar a frustrated headbutt on a Northampton player, but he came back and scored twice in his first game back.

Collins too, much improved last season compared to his first season with us. I don’t see him as an impactful player at the next level but he’s apparently one of the best trainers at the club and very good in the dressing room. We also let all our other strikers walk and I’d assume Collins is in talk on reduced terms. If you want someone to come on and play on the last man for crosses then he’s a decent option, but technically he’s well below the required level and was at times in League One.

Going to be a strange summer for us I think as we could end up losing loads of players or not many at all. Barkley to Villa and Adebayo to Everton already latest rumours for us in terms of outgoing.

Valuations people are throwing out there for our players are all over the map too, some really low looking others really ambitiously high. Edwards says we don’t need to sell anyone but I imagine the 2 mentioned there, Doughty, Mengi at least will have ambitions to stay in the Premier League

It wouldn't surprise me if we were in for Wildsmith as Norris needs some competition that might actually be a threat to him. As good as Norris has been this season, Mousinho has been ruthless with squad assembly for the Championship and won't be resting on his laurels.

It's difficult to know what goes on behind closed doors or what player/manager's motivations are but I do see Norris and Wildsmith as a much of muchness - we had a similar situation with Vickers but injuries and personnel tragedies really kept him from ever getting the chance to hold down his place.

My thoughts and as we heard Warne say no contracts would be offered to players until the end of the season following Cashin & NML signing new deals was that there wasn't a huge amount of trust or belief in Wildsmith as a number one goalkeeper in the Championship. Warne has a fantastic relationship with his goalkeeping coach and keeps him close by as part of his circle. When you analyse his time at Rotherham, despite the small budget, he's ALWAYS valued the goalkeeping position and had good players in that position - certainly when he put his own stamp on the team: Marek Rodak (17/18), Marek Rodak (18/19), Daniel Iversen (19/20), Viktor Johannson (20/21- onwards) w/ Josh Vickers as reliable back-up.

Rodak, Iversen and Johannson I would say are all likely to be markedly better than Wildsmith and since that's all he's really known in his time as a football manager then it's been a position of, not necessary concern, but one that, despite WIldsmith not doing much wrong, he knows the disparity between those guys and him.

Either way, I was more pointing to the fact that Warne has only ever worked with goalkeepers of that ilk in starting roles (apart from his very first season which was a bit of a mess) and probably saw Wildsmith as lacking. Now he's got twice, three-times the budget and he's potentially got a worse goalkeeper then that's my reasoning for him going back to market. I'm well aware we can make a complete mess of it.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Vickers go back to you. Rumours are that he's potentially leaving.
