I hope you're right, if we sign him. Martin is miles ahead of both Bent and Weimann in terms of quality, so if we sign someone miles better than Martin then we will be laughing.

I just don't see it. I guess I am a skepticist.

It's a very good signing

I think you've done some good business in Wilson, Ince and Johnson

The rest have to prove it but think you will come good sooner or later. The league is there for anyone to take, you have the most quality to do so

Marvin Sordell ended up going to Colchester, not a bad signing for them.

Who Derby fans think they are getting: young loan striker from some club up North.

Who Derby are actually getting: one of the Founding Fathers of the USA. The legal skills are considered essential for navigating through the challenging FFP regulations. Derby's owners believe having a trained, if dead, lawyer on the books is more important than yet another loan striker this season.

Hopefully Jamie Jones going out on loan will free up some room to get someone in, preferably Lascelles

Jamie Jones joins Colchester on an emergency loan, Ben Davies has gone to Southport for a month and Nick Anderton has had his loan deal extended at Aldershot.

Seems a step down for Davies considering he was York's young player of the year in League Two.

Fuck off Jones.

After a defeat for which both goals were blamed on defender error and defender naivety, I wonder if the club recalls selling an experienced defender JUST LAST FUCKING WEEK!

WANTED: Central defender, about 6'2", experience of Championship football and Leicester City essential, mullet optional but desirable. Must currently play for a club that has recently had a Michael Jackson statue and whose name rhymes with Ditchard Spearman.

Confirmed that Nicky Maynard is considering our offer.

Obviously got some experience at this level, but it's been a long time since he was prolific.

Quality player back in the day, think injuries have taken their toll though

Maynard's finished. He's never been half the player he was since that injury he picked up that had him out of the game for a year, and nowadays he spends more time on the injury table rather than on the field.

I'll look forward to his return to AG if he does sign.

We enquired about loaning a player from a Prem club on Friday according to Grayson, but the terms weren't right and it didn't happen, probably Lascelles who we were linked to on deadline day by a reporter up there.

We are linked with a bunch of strikers but it's a solid defender in which we really lack.

It makes selling Richard Stearman look even more ridiculous.

Man Utd look set to sign Niall Ennis from us for 1m, he's a 16 yr old striker from our academy. Chelsea and Man City been scouting him too.

They're also after Charlie Taylor to replace Shaw apparently but could just be lazy journalism. A few months ago I'd have laughed but he's progressed to be our player of the season at this early stage.

It's the way of the world. He'll have a great time at their academy, do nothing in a year, be loaned to Stockport or Morecambe, appear in a Carling Cup match for Man U, be forever referred to as "former Manchester United player Niall Ennis", have a lengthy career at Southend, be linked with a move to Leeds, spend a year with KFR Aegir in Iceland (with a season in Icelandic TV's 'I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Some Air-Dried Cod') before playing out his days at Frome Town. He will go on to manage Rhyl poorly before owning a tied pub in Halesowen.

Good luck to him. After all, we poach from the academies of the likes of Gillingham, Wycombe, Southend.....what goes around, comes around.

Pretty much yeah. Maybe he should talk to Daniel Nardiello though, it's basically an identical situation to when we sold him to Man Utd. He's hardly had an illustrious career in the Premier League since leaving for the big time.

What? You mean THE Daniel Nardiello?

Interest in taking James Wilson on loan from Wolves, Derby, Blackburn, Bolton, Reading, Brighton, Rotherham, Burnley, Leeds, Swindon, Bristol City, Birmingham, Huddersfield, Blackpool, Eastleigh, Pompey, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Hull, Barnsley, Preston, MK Dons, Brentford, Charlton, Millwall, Ipswich, Colchester, Gillingham, Mansfield, Burton, Coventry, Northampton, Exeter, Plymouth and Juventus.

QPR are trying another tactic by going for Wayne Rooney on loan and leaving Wilson at Old Trafford.

In actual transfer news, we are apparently relatively close to signing Joao Texiera on loan from Liverpool (was on loan at Brighton last year).

Seems Spurs have decided they want to keep both Pritchard and Alli, after saying for quite a long time we could have one of them at the end of the summer. Lame.

Look at Kenny keeping the public updated on James Wilson

Maybe you should try signing a defender on loan instead ...

You had him on loan briefly in L1 didn't you? Remember tempering my expectations based on some underwhelming reports from Brentford fans. He was pretty decent last season though, considering he played in a struggling side; sporadic moments/displays of utter magic, albeit with plenty of quieter, less-effective games too.

Could see he has natural talent way and above this level though. Wouldn't suit the 4-4-2 that's served us so well so far this season (he's very much an 'in the hole' trequartista), but would naturally take him back like a shot if he/Liverpool were for some reason not intent on him playing every game.

(excuse the horribly tacky music/production)

Yeah he was utter wank for us haha!

Heard good reports from you guys though, and yeah, he'd be brought in to play the number 10 role behind the striker.

Mostly needed as a stop gap till January when other players are back, but should be a good stop gap.

Wilson's a bit weird. He was set to sign for us last week, some national papers even confirmed it. Not fussed though, we definitely do not need him.

Didn't Rooney get injured last week? That's probably why he's no longer available.

Because playing in the U21s and making the subs bench one game in five for your £15,000+ per week is much more rewarding.
