They'll go up next season and FFP won't matter anyway

Linked with Grant Hanley, more depending on if Lambert stays or goes.

It's amazing that this is still floating around. I had heard that all recruitment was on hold until they had decided on whether to stand by Lambert or ditch him for some unknown Portuguese mate of Mendes. I'd be happy enough with Hanley. Didn't we try for him last year or the year before?

He's a pacy direct left winger, absolutely tortured full backs in league 2 way too good for that league, he's only 22 so plenty of time on his side to make a good go of it in the Championship, got a bad injury before Christmas and was out for months that's why his record for this season looks pretty average and probably why we're now a non league team.

He'll be a real crowd favourite wherever he ends up.

Signing for us today.

Confirmed 3 year deal.

Was impressed by Nathan Thomas in our cup game against Hartlepool, hard to say whether he will hack it at this level though, on a consistent basis anyway.

Not sure how true it is, think the E&S has just put two and two together and linked us with any half decent defender that Lambert used to manage. Like you say I doubt we will be looking at any transfer targets until the manager situation is resolved.

Gotta give these young ens a chance to ever even know. We sold Che Adams and he seems to play fairly often and we sold Calvert Lewin to Everton and I'd never of thought for one second I'd of seen him playing premier league football. On a higher level who'd of though dele alli would of become England's best player inside a year or so., big problem in this country I believe is not enough young ens getting a chance especially the higher up the league's you get. I have no idea about this kid but hopefully it works out for him.

Nathan Thomas showed he had a lot of skill when he played for us. But my god he's got the attitude of a child, and thats far from an exaggeration. He didn't like not being the clubs best player and didn't like not being selected every week which led to his form being all over the place.

I think he's done well at Hartlepool because he was allowed to be their best player, had no competition and no reason for him to throw his toys out the pram. In a sheffield united side with a lot of good players and competition i think he'll throw a paddy again and will be out the door on loan pretty soon. If he sorts his attitude out and his consistency he'll be a real good winger.

I wish we would of kept him, but he was "homesick" and wanted to leave, conveniently at a time when he was hardly playing. He never got homesick at plymouth and doubt he ever will again.

Be interesting to see how he does.

Off ... otherwise CW would've made it plain he was in his plans.

Yes possibly, better get a fee at least and not a fucking loan again. I'm guessing he doesn't want to be here , no other reason to get rid. Think I'd prefer him than Freeman though.

Remember when Brayford was considered one of the best full backs in this league, wasn't that long ago.

He was class for us, moved to PL Cardiff and didn't quite work out for him. Solid Championship RB I'd have still thought.

Burnley, Brighton and Bournemouth linked with Preston's former 8th choice midfielder Josh Brownhill.

Don't reckon he'll go this summer personally but we'd be making a big profit on him anyway so would have been a successful transfer.

You can't let go of the fact that he couldn't get into are midfield can you?

Sorry but like of when meaning have....

It's our nor are. FFS.

Blades recruitment policy is very similar to ours when we came up, players who were very good for their current team albeit at a lower level, we got Kieran Lee who is one of our best players for nowt from Oldham, Maghoma (shit), whether it serves them well remains to be seen.

I personally would rather try this option along with maybe 1 or 2 bigger signings. We've tried the buying experienced names and paying big wages since we came down from the premiership and it's failed miserably for us, I understand were not gonna suddenly be challenging to win the league and I'm happy to accept the longer term project, the problem in football is to many mongs don't have any patience.

It's all we've done since we came up (only experienced name was Tommy Smith as a back up forward on a one year deal, and that was to mentor Andre Gray) and it's worked pretty well for us so far!

Has Kasey Palmer been any good for Huddersfield this season? I see he's played a fair number of games for them during what's been an excellent season.

On the other side of the coin is Callum Robinson, City could of had him for shrapnel and claimed he wasn't good enough, look at his season he just had

He only started 19 games for you, so wouldn't have had much of a sniff here.

Those Prem links have come from TeamTalk

Callum Robinson started one league game for us last season when we were even worse than we were this season and gets into your side.

Our fans and LJ have only realised how good he is the second half of the season, he was superb in the run in.

Such a good player and only 21, a sellable asset. Wonder if you have a sell on fee...

Aye we will, think it's mandatory with compensation deals.

I think this league will be his limit personally but he's got time on his side.

Didn't know that, we'll stand firm and get what we ask for him or keep him here I imagine so if he does go you'll get a tidy windfall.

I think this league is probably his limit yes but it remains to be seen. He's been very, very good for us this season and is only going to get better. Very versatile as well, played right back, right midfield, as a midfield two and in behind at different stages this season.

Did you watch us against Brighton the other week? He played really well and bagged a goal.

I didn't see the game, no, but saw he got a goal.

Right back isn't a position I would have associated with him, regardless of whether I rate him highly or not, he definitely needed to leave Deepdale this season to kick on his career.

He was great going forward and even better defensively, was so disciplined. Yeah I didn't really like him playing right back but he's got a hell of a delivery on him and we were chasing the game (Forest at home) and we ended up turning round a 0-1 deficit.

Yep he's classy as fuck, so skillful and creative, been out since February and many think that's what halted our automatic push. I was hopeful that we'd get him back as I didn't think he'd get PL interest after being out injured for all that time, but I suppose he's just the kind of player that Bournemouth would bring in and I think he'd thrive

I doubt there's serious Premier League interest in Brownhill at this stage. Imagine we're in talks over a new contract and his agent's putting whispers out there in order to negotiate a better deal.
