What is that defender doing. Leaving your man to wander off an arms length away from the goal is hilarious

Curtis is a good player. He did it for us at Wimbledon last season. He's always likely to produce a moment like that.

Genuinely awful. We've not been good second half though, didn't take our chances so can't complain if we lose 1-0

Think we could’ve won this game but Stuart Maynard really turns into a complete moron at half time every week, why is a centre back still playing wing back ffs

That's really unlucky by Traore there. A cm lower and that hits the bar and goes in. Did well to wrestle space away from his marker.

When you concede like that and hit the bar that cleanly. You just have to chalk it off as one of those nights.

Terrible defending for the goal. Completely ball watching

Vale deserved it on the 2nd half performance, but it either the Jatta or Traore chances go in as they should, Notts County come away with a result.

Much better second half, far more aggressive and probably overall a game of two halves there. We just took our chance. Feels a massive win that. Well and truly back in the race.

Jatta was dreadful again against us. Debs and Smith largely dealt with him.

There's something funny about the way Darren Moore claps. Not sure how to explain it.

Second half played with a bit more aggression even if not always quality but it made a difference and ultimately got the win over a very good Notts side. Obviously they’ll want it back with our goal but from our perspective they all count.

Just once or twice would love us to blow someone away but that’s not how we do things.

The lad they threw on near the end was terrible. No idea how he missed the rebound!

Port Vale will be pleased to get the victory there but I'd make a strong bet Notts will finish quite comfortably higher out of the two sides. Thought Notts looked the better side on the night and that was without their two key forward players.

We’ve made a season out of doing that. Nobody who has seen us will put us as one of the better sides as aesthetically it’s not exactly pretty but we have got results doing it. Guess for Notts there’ll be a nervy wait if Jatta gets a retrospective ban assuming he did give Smith a clip (I’ll be honest I haven’t seen it and never even noticed it in the ground).

Nah I don't think he had a chance on the rebound really, maybe should score with the first one though.

Not sure I'm on board with the idea Notts players were poor tonight. Didn't score first half and were marginally second best in the second half but away at a good team, without two of our main attacking threats and a centre back on the wing I think it's a bit of a stretch.

Nah you looked a decent team and should really have led at halftime. Seemed once we played with a bit more physicality second half we managed to swing the pendulum our way but it was over 90 minutes a 50-50 game that one moment decided.

We just cannot seem to get a result against the teams around us, even when we play alright. Hopefully won’t matter if we just keep beating everyone else.

Think it was 50-50 in terms of play in the end, they struggled to get anything going second half and much of that was because we stopped misplacing basic passes. But they obviously edged it on chances. Think that may be one of the better defensive displays I've seen from anyone this season despite the sloppy marking for the goal.

Best ref we've had for ages, thought he was really fair and let the game flow. Sounds like we should have been playing 10 men for most but he had his back to it...most of us in the ground missed it too so it comes down to whether the liner or 4th official saw it.

We deserve a bit of luck and got a decent amount tonight though. Very happy with the result, work to do performance wise.

Notts comfortably the best footballing team I've seen us play this season. Carved us open 1st half and created great chances. Should have been 2 up. Was the header just wide given as a foul? Couldn't tell from down the other end. 2nd half we upped the tempo and forced more errors, got into good areas without creating anything clear cut other than the goal. My brother in law text me, said if our player (Tolaj?) went down it would have been a red. Another I completely missed down the other end, looked good defending.

Hard to make a case to say we deserved the 3 points, but with the blocks, saves from Amos and then taking our only real chance, maybe we did. Notts only have themselves to blame tonight.

Good support from Notts, 1200 for a midweek game, fair play. Why the song about a faulty wheelbarrow though?

First time I've seen Jatta, is he usually better?

Nah but he scores loads of goals and we’ll sell him for 7 figures in the summer so that counts for something I suppose

Probably irrationally annoyed by that performance - I think we can probably sit and say we could’ve won and maybe would’ve won if one of Didzy, Jones or Whitaker were fit but it’s just another ‘big’ game where we’ve fallen short and Maynard seems completely incapable of conjuring up a result in improbable circumstances which feels like the mark of a good manager and also the sign of a team able to sustain a promotion push
