Osadebe has genuinely been top class since signing for us. Some might even say world class.
He is head and shoulders the best player in this league.

Top lad as well so I hear.

Honestly the way he's played so far he's been like a League 2 Yaya Toure with a bit of Ronaldinho type flair thrown in. Great attitude as well, busts a gut every game and looks desperate to do well.

50/50 game against Gillingham tomorrow. I'm just content that we still have something to play for this season. Play offs would be a bonus for us this season. I expect us to kick on next season probably in league 2.

A really tough assignment for mansfield tomorrow against a tranmere side who’ve won their last 2 home games without conceding and also beating stockport 4-0.

Id imagine him starting with clarke and maris in midfield with swan starting uptop (probably with akins)

Colchester will have another P-P tomorrow vs Doncaster, 8am Pitch inspection, may aswell call it now tbh, pointless them setting their alarms.

Probably the last one they can off before they start putting other teams in serious inconvinience fixture wise. Obvious putting themselves at inconvinience but that's tough shit. If I was the league I'd be telling them they need to find a potential alternative ground because they can't have another one off. You can't start doing that ridiculous Tuesday-Thursday thing at the end of the season that happens in Sunday League, not fair on the opponents who have to play the Thursday. Could undermine that teams' season, impacts the integrity of the league. Their pitch drainage must be awful, they can't sit on their hands and hope for a dry remainder of March and April.

Can’t see how they’d go out of their way to have games called off and will go all they can to get it on, given their positions a stack of games is the last thing they’d want.

Would be nice to do the double over Morecambe but will probably end a score draw.

They're not going out of their way to do it but it's not the rest of the leagues burden to have if their pitch is not up to Football League Standard.

Pitch inspection at Valley Parade at 8am tomorrow apparently...can any of the Bradford fans confirm, or give an opinion how bad the pitch is, if it can't take a light shower in the early hours?

OK, don't worry, think the facts might be a bit confused here...the inspection might be at Colchester...totally irrelevant to our game, unless the whole country is hit by flooding!

I’ve a feeling it’s last chance saloon for him at this level and he knows it. He showed glimpses for us (see Grimsby away in the pizza cup), but nothing with any consistency.

A decent run of games seems to have been what he needed and he’s got it so fair play!

Tomorrow has all the hallmarks of a 0-1 away win for our fan base to lose their minds!

We’ll then go and beat Mansfield on Saturday and Notts next Tuesday!

IIRC they don't have a groundsman, if Col U don't want a backlog then they might want to start there

Home to Mansfield. Should be more competitive than last season when Rovers couldn't manage a shot on target. Reasonable showing at Gillingham, but Adkins didn't spell out which absences were down to injury, illness~there's been a bug doing the rounds, or not making the cut. Second of three games against teams in the promotion zone.

Haven't a clue how it will pan out, but expecting goals

Yeah that happened to us one season in the National League, we had to do Tuesday Thursday Saturday to catch up and the Thursday one was away at Dartford who were down at the bottom and Hurst changed pretty much the whole team and we lost 1-0.

Conceded four goals in our last two games which is very unlike the best defence in the league, Clough will want it tightening up tonight.

We can’t truly put an automatic push together with awful away form. Hopefully the Mansfield win last week has put that to bed because I really shouldn’t be less optimistic about Grimsby away than I am Crewe at home

Another home game and of course it’s raining, again. Will it be on? 50/50 realistically.
If it goes ahead the pitch will no doubt be pushed further into oblivion with consecutive Tues/Sat/Tues games between now and next week.

Not feeling confident about Saturday being on.

Off: Waterlogged Pitch

That is a bad one for Colchester should and if FGR win away in Yorkshire.
It would be first occasion since 16th game of season FGR would be out of relegation spot and 1st time since 13th game that Colchester back in relegation trouble.
I think it is a 1st in D Cowley's football career that he has managed a team fighting off relegation. He has always been a promotion hungry winner. One wonders how he will cope with this hitherto unknown pressure.

As I write this, I can see the sun almost poking out for the first time today, if it stays that way and tonight goes ahead then there’s just no way the pitch recovers reasonably before Saturday.
I wrote before the cancelled Notts game that the ball actually rolls alright when it’s dry, the bounce isn’t great but you can knock it around no problem. After hitting ‘post’ after writing that it didn’t stop raining for about 24 hours and the game was off.
I just don’t see where the let up is when it’s rained so much recently, Saturday could well be fine but don’t expect it to not look like a mud bath after it gets trashed tonight.

It'll be like the good/bad old days of winter mud baths for pitches all over the country if the rain carries on like it has been.

Just a quicky.

Pies fans check to see if the match is on tonight before travelling. The Ducks are taking shelter around here.

Not being based in the UK, I haven't seen the weather. But it feels like it's been a particularly wet winter. Feels like most games that have been PPd have been for waterlogged, not frozen.

It's pissed it down since October. It isn't in the least surprising to see battered pitches by now.

Fully against artificial pitches however.
