The whole top 7/9/10 thing when people talk about results aginst top teams is pretty arbitrary, nevertheless, so far this month they've beaten Newport and FGR and got a point at Cambridge, all away games too (actually their last three away games so maybe that's the stat that makes most sense) so that's a significant run of results for a team that have been rock bottom for most of the season, even if it's not easy to put those three results together into some kind of short and sweet factoid.

Are you really bothered if they spin it like that? Southend were absolute turd at Prenton Park and will have been horrid to watch for most of the season. They’ve just had a belting result and will understandably be delighted.

Fact is in the last 3 games against top 7 opposition they have 7 points which is good going and nothing wrong with Southend fans pointing that out.

You can say anything you like but when you come up against a team at the top and win instead of going on streaks against relegation battlers i suggest you reel your neck in a lot.

Southend thoroughly deserved that result. We didn't turn up at all, and their first and third goals were first class (the third one beyond that).

We got everything wrong, team selection, lineup, complete absence of energy for the whole first half, attack - what attack? By far our worst performance this season (and I think second worse was probably at Southend away, too, so.)

Honest comment here. I would prefer Grimsby and Barrow to stay up at the expense of two southern clubs. Non League football is heavily weighed in favour of clubs from the South East. The NLN has had clubs like Bishops Stortford in it who are not even remotely Midland based.They might as well call them National League London Region and National League The Rest.
