The gap to the bottom two continues to shrink, Forest Green away at the weekend.

Penalty will leave a sour taste in the mouth but the better team won tonight.

Never team particularly threatened in the game, Bolton scored there chances though and deserved to win.

Credit to Cheltenham they handled the wind second half and took their chance. We missed two golden opportunities and on another day it's a difference story.

Good entertaining game from two good teams.

Poor game. Needed to win that really. Positive is a clean sheet and very few chances given away.

That was a hard watch. Not very good at all going forward.

Not sure what has happened to Taylor but this isn’t the same player who was on loan to us. Burgess came on did ok. Montano was garbage.

Positive is a clean sheet. Clarke has at least made us harder to score against so far.

We deserved that, thought it would be typical of our luck that Quigley's goal wasn't awarded and we'd go on to get beat. We'd have never won that under Jolley, because we wouldn't have had a shot for starters.

Felt much more positive in the performance and our chances of staying up even with a point, but to get all three will be a huge, huge confidence boost.

Christ that was hard to watch, we said we wanted a nasty horrible win and we certainly got it.

Our entire back 4 were a circus and thank god they got away with it.

Should have won more comfortably but obviously will take that. Still in the hunt, just.
Glad Seymour has finally broken his duck, we play completely differently without Bowman.

Good away win for Cheltenham that confirms their 3rd place in table, only two points adrift of top spot.
Good result for FGR who did not play. If they win tomorrow against Southend it puts them top.
Looking good for both Gloucestershire teams.

Our season's gone
No it hasn't gone.

We would've beat 80% of the teams in this league with that performance tonight.

Tranmere looked very good but we stood up to them most of the match and pushed them back for large parts of the second half (especially unlucky not to score with the goal line clearance). A bit of class at the end won it, which is fair enough in my mind.

I've got to say that you are incredibly weak minded.

Well done Tranmere. Great away win. Looking good.

That went how I thought it would go for us as we bumbled along and narrowly lost.

We was difficult to beat and lost the game from a soft penalty - Fine margins decided what I thought was a very tight game, neither side offered enough in the final third on the night IMO, but Bradford were that little bit braver than us, especially with their subs and got the win. Our goals have completely dried up in the last 5 weeks.

We've stopped offering any sort of real goal threat going forward recently and are now 7 games without a win - failing to score in 6 of those, this will be a huge test now for Ross Embleton because most of the fanbase want him out. At this rate his stubborness will see him getting sacked for sure. He will blame the ref for giving a soft penalty tonight because he always blames the officials, but ultimately we've offered next to nothing all game.

Decent performance it might have been but its another zero points. Only one point now from the last four games.

Well unless Chris Beech bucks his ideas up and drops that useless cart horse of a midfielder Melish and puts his boot up the arses of a few other regulars, then we're not going anywhere.

Totally deserved win for you boys, well done, we were very poor and you took full advantage and beat us in every department. Well done, hope you stay up

I thought you looked good too, and in reality the game could have gone either way in horrible conditions. You'll continue to do well in this league I'm sure.

God that was terrible. Up there with one of the worst games of football I’ve ever had to watch. We genuinely didn’t have one meaningful chance, against Stevenage at home in the fourth division.

We played five at the back and decided that hoofball and counter attack would somehow work. No one is ever going to convince me that we needed to play like that at home against Stevenage to stop conceding goals.

End this season now please.

Two great substitutions from Keith Hill and the quality of our squad won us the game tonight.

The first sixty minutes were fairly even overall, with both sides playing enterprising football and looking ropey defensively. As expected, Sid Nelson struggled as a makeshift right back and both Carlisle's goals came down his side.

However, the introduction of Kieron Morris gave us a grip of midfield and it was a combination of sheer class between Nugent and Vaughan for the winner.

What a great result. Buzzing.

Joe Riley was also unlucky with his volley at the end of the 1st half.

Agree that Mellish looks off it, don't rate him that much anyway. Chris Lumsdon was right in commentary, we should've been looking to replace Mellish with Dickenson while on top to keep us pushing on.

We could afford to lose 6 or so games, that was one of them. The upside is that we won't be facing many teams as good as Tranmere Rovers between now and the end of the season.

To write our season off after that tonight is totally ridiculous.

How is Joe Riley doing for you overall?. He had horrendous luck with injuries in his 2 years with us and barely got a game

I'm not dissatisfied with 3 points away at Col U but we should have won that by at least 3 or 4. We need to just be a little bit sharper and smarter up top and we will start banging them in for fun again.

How the fuck have we wasted nearly two months on that fraud of a manager when these players can dig in like that? We rode our luck at times, but every player played well and looked interested.

If our back line stays relatively unchanged and our forwards can keep linking up properly then we should pull clear eventually. Quigley finally looked like he can cut it at this level and was unlucky to have a good goal ruled out.

Devitt and Banks look like good signings now they know what they are supposed to be doing, and lots of attacking options off the bench.

Flat game really. Injuries mounting with Joyce adding to Worrall and Oyeleke which isn’t ideal with all the games coming thick and fast.

Been loads of long ball, Stevenage possibly had the wind and have had more of the ball in our half but neither side doing much. Rodney should of played Swan for a simple goal and Monty should have just hit rather than take a touch.

Not much in it.
Have you sussed out yet that Kurtis Guthrie is the worst striker in the football league. 16 months and counting since he scored a goal now
