Christ, that was a grind. We’re two different teams at the minute - free flowing and scoring away and so, so laboured and difficult to watch at home. Still, feels churlish to complain when we’re second.

Thought Carlisle were alright to be fair. We’ve played several worse teams this season.

We have been abysmal but are winning 1-0 against Harrogate thanks to one good moment from Joe White (Dan Crowley with his first assist).

Our new CB Nathan Thompson went off injured after 25 minutes. He was our best player on Saturday and looked the answer to our defensive woes so typical he’s injured already.

Still, if we can hold onto the 3 points, it’s a decent outing even though it’s another shite game. Doncaster will destroy us playing like this on Saturday though…
Finished 2-1 to us after a crazy final couple of minutes where we nearly ended up doing what we usually do and dropping two points with Harrogate’s 92nd minute equaliser. However, a moment of brilliance from a (recently) out of form Alex Gilbey got us the 3 points back just a minute later. Ultimately, two individual moments of brilliance from two players who are better than L2 (White and Gilbey) the difference…Harrogate had 23 shots to our 10 and were by all accounts the better side but were not remotely clinical - nice to be on the other side of one of these undeserved victories for once. 3 very needed points to keep us in with a shout in the promotion race.

Turned a corner with this win and the draw with AFC Wimbledon but we’re still certainly way off it. 11 points from the last 33 is hardly promotion form!

Not a classic, but come the end of the season who knows how important them 3 points will be. We’d have drawn or last that so often over the last 7 years. There feels a shift in mentality. Was good to give a few rusty players a start as well. Should have been 2-0 at the end, but never mind.

Really good in the first half - lose it 1-0.

Absolutely rancid in the second half - win it 1-0.

The world of GTFC in a nutshell.

Anybody know when the mid table thread is starting, asking for a friend……..

As other Pies have suggested, dog shit performance. Incredibly sloppy..almost disrespectfully casual. Luckily we have a very good goalkeeper and impressive central defensive unit that we again get another clean sheet.

Nothing worked for the incredibly hard working McGoldrick. Jones was our worst player and by a distance.

Grant and Hinchy meh at best.

Abbott solid. Edwards and Johnson both effective and impressive once introduced.

Great goal from the Big Man after a beautiful pinpoint cross from our Spurs loanee.

Not sure how there was only one goal in the game and that's not said as a compliment.

3 points and the good run continues but disappointing and slightly worrying.

I don’t know how we can get Jones match fit without playing him, but we were playing way better before he came back into the side. He looks miles off the pace.

We have to drop big Rod McDonald for that Sunderland kid as well. Nothing against the large man and he’s done okay as cover but two left footers down the right side is an absolutely ridiculous sight.

I thought Grant and Hinchy both did okay again tbh.

I thought Grant was good again, feel like Notts fans have been conditioned to think a 10 has to just drop deep and make lots of passes and turns in his own half, he allows us to play forward, makes runs from deep, wins the ball high up the pitch…just think he desperately needs a goal or something, just doesn’t really ever look like threatening the goal despite doing all the other stuff well.

Hinchy good but he’s a bit Ed Francis for me, good on the ball but half a yard too slow and occasionally not strong enough. Just not quite the same perpetual motion machine that Palmer is.

Agreed on Johnson, nothing against McDonald who is clearly a bit of a fish out of water on the right side but him trying send balls down the line with his left foot was painful.

Jones is a weird one, felt like at the start of the season he just ran at his man every time he got it - he’s looked a bit tentative over the last 2 games

Seems like everyone is awful and the 3 auto promoted teams will be the 3 least awful. To be fair Walsall can afford to lose a few, so I'd be pretty relaxed if I was them. Results kind of went how I anticipated tonight, it's so tight that the auto promotion places will swap several times between now and the end of the season.

Awful performance. Looks like we've begun our nosedive this season in January rather than March. Big few days for the manager to get some midfielders in because right now we look absolutely lost. Staggered we've actually drawn but this football with the quality we have in the side is absolutely hideous!

It’s absolutely awesome being alright but still losing almost every week. Same shit different day. Leaving Nottingham pissed off. There was something there for a half competent team but we’re just not good enough and are getting relegated because of it.

It was on the cards. Since we joined the EFL following reincarnation matches against Crewe are usually a draw. Wonder goal by Josh Neufville for our equaliser.

Elsewhere, Walsall WTF? Are you trying to lose a guaranteed title.

Agreed, Grant looks a different player since coming back and far more efficient as a 10 rather than out wide.

Proper minging performance from us that, though typical of how we’ve played generally at home this season.

Carlisle were very similar to the game at their place, looked wide open 1st half, but gave it a proper go second. They played well, but the fact they haven’t scored says a lot about why they’re down there.

Whichever 4 go up they’ll have a lot of work to do during the summer, and I’d include Walsall in that.

As I mentioned at HT, awful game to watch.

We started off well, but then very quickly adapted Morecambe’s style of kick and rush football. Because we weren’t picking up those second balls, a lot of play just fell apart and possession was easily turned over - for both sides.

On the balance of chances created, we deserved the win - no question.

It was a professional performance against a Morecambe side who are scrapping for their Football League status. I read that this was Morecambe’s TENTH 1-0 defeat of the season. It makes you wonder where they’d be if they scraped a couple of wins/draws from these fixtures instead of losing them to solitary goals.

Our 6th home win in a row. Best home form in the league (our best since 2016). Up to 3rd in the table. Tough, tough game against Wimbledon at the weekend.

Up the Chickens.

A very creditable win over the league leaders and our first double of the season. Fleetwood have performed pretty well over teams in the top half and failed pretty miserably against lower teams. Morecambe away on Saturday so a win for the Shrimps !

Really enjoyed that one tonight as it was the type of game we needed to hopefully kick start our season again. We were in complete control from minute 1 - 90, both before and after the red card (stone wall red btw, I have no idea what they were complaining about). Thought all the new lads did well again, especially Sparkes who was my pick of the bunch down the left. Dobra at his best again tonight & Bromley couldn’t live with him, scored a screamer and played a very good cross into Colcloughs path for his goal too. He thrives off being the main man I think, and since losing key players from the early part of this season in Markanday, Berry & Grigg, he’s gone up another level in his performances. Could do with that transfer window closing asap please…

Another positive was Paddy Madden who looked the sharpest I’ve seen him all season tonight when he came on. Hopefully he’s sorted that calf issue out for good now as a fit and firing Madden would be massive for us, was buzzing he got his goal at the end. Expecting him to start on Saturday against Cheltenham.

Tell you what though, it’s always sweet beating them lot as I find their manager the most classless, arrogant prick about who has an extraordinary high opinion of himself. Made it even sweeter watching his head fall off after seeing red & being sent to the stands, can’t wait for the post match interview

No Chesterfield fan has been classy enough to thank Notts yet for Bromley using up their entire box of dirty tricks on us at the weekend

Clean sheet, gone second top, 19pts from 24. Really can't complain but that was an edgy, nervy performance and barely deserved the win.
Carlisle matched us and edged the second half but when you're at the bottom you don't get the breaks.
In defence of a poor performance our first choice midfield this summer of Palmer, Crowley and Robertson has been entirely replaced and we've two absolutely dead on their feet strikers with no cover whatsoever.
We've surely got to sign a number nine who can rotate the poor sods to give them some rest.

I absolutely guarantee that they will still have a box full of tricks for us on Saturday, Woodman still hates us for ruining his day at Wembley in 1998 and Saturday will be the fat fucks cup final.

We are a decent side. Avery solid and never leak many goals. If we had a few more goals in us we would be fine.
