His best display for us by a considerable margin - he almost looked like a footballer. We've spent the season genuinely wondering if he's our worst signing of all time, considering he's on 3 grand a week, has barely played and when he had dragged himself onto the pitch, looked liked he'd won a competition to be there. As well as he played last night, the goal was a complete fluke(!)
Fair play to him he admitted as much in the post-match interview, when he came across as honest accepting he’d not had a good season and I actually warmed to him.

Post-match interviews were interesting. Holloway saying Rovers were dirty, wasn’t sure how fair that was? Adkins who sounds a totally beaten man, was unusually critical of the referee. Viewed the second yellow and penalty decision against Drysdale a few times and while I don’t fully understand the current application of the handball rules, the ball seemed to be hit very hard and I’m not sure there was sufficient in there for the second yellow, not that it would have made any difference to the outcome.

Definitely agree re "fluke". He admitted himself in the interview on your website that it was supposed to be a cross to Solomon

Just one change tonight, Sbarra not in the squad, Clifton starts and Kelly on the bench, probably a game more suited to them than Sbarra

It’s a shame our forwards couldn’t finish like that or else we could’ve undeservedly scored 3 times in injury time.
We were the better team in the second half but should have gone in two or three down at half time.
So I suppose over the balance of the 90 a draw was fair result, but conceding in the 97th minute always feels like a loss.

All three goals we have conceded have been dreadful from our perspective but we haven't done anywhere near enough to deserve anything from this game.

This is what I don't get about this league. Doncaster looked dire the other week against us and are now 2nd and 4 points ahead of us (albeit with a game in hand). Just shows what a little run of consistency can do.

What's happened to Barrow? They looked a decent side earlier in the season but have completely gone to shit.

Fell into a rut under Clemence and he couldn't get out of it, but to be fair, players underperforming and injuries didn't help him. Last couple of games under Whing we obviously played well and won comfortably vs Grimsby and last night errors aside we at least competed in a manner we hadn't done under Clemence.

Therefore it's just about getting to 50 points for us. 19 points from 19 games is obviously achievable and I have the faith we will be competitive enough under Whing to get them.

We haven’t played well for sometime but are starting to win ugly, probably what you need to do to get out of this league

You say that but we got relegated (all be it was top half at the time) and in the cup v Mansfield away was men v boys, Crewe we put our reserves out and were comfortable until we threw on the big players and battered them last 15, so it does take big investment, Mansfield did smart getting Gregory and experience in and Stockport/Wrexham obviously invested.

Some really big clubs up there so whilst you sometimes get the crest of the wave and have a decent first season/half a season it does become a real slog unless you spend big. Easy to end up like Shrewsbury/Cambridge/Burton and just making up the number scraping for that 5th bottom place for years on end until you've circled the plug hole too many times and slip back through.

It was not men vs boys, if you want a real example of that watch Peterborough vs Mansfield, physically the youngest side in the division were no match for the oldest. It was a tired and injury heavy side playing against a side with two players that ran the show on the night and ended up in the premier league. Gregory indeed was great business (he’s very good) and so was Will Evans but we sold our best player and currently running with a £800k transfer profit this season.

The real work starts in the summer because we will be having a moderate to high rebuild.

Well it would it help if clough wasn’t so bloody stubborn at times, he’s one of the best connected and well respected managers in the lower leagues but refuses to get loan players in when everyone else is doing it and doesn’t. Money and size obviously makes a big difference in L1 and you can’t compete, we drew 1-1 with Birmingham earlier in the season and it felt more like a cup game!

Barring a complete clusterfuck (something mansfield can manage quite well) we’ll be fine, it’s more about what you then do the season after etc, do you progress and get better or slowly sink.

Flint is always rusty after an extended period out, he was the same in L2. He was brilliant against Birmingham earlier in the season, he just needs a run of games - still a very good L1 defender and with Deji out will now hopefully get a run of games. Definitely best to have a bit of pace alongside him, like Brunt last season but that’s a given.
