Nice finish McKirdy. Sucker punch for Walsall as it was their best spell in the game before that.

Great move for Walsalls second equaliser. Matt very lucky not to be walking for a second yellow not long after though.

Take the point.

We were awful first half - tolerable second.

One point closer to limp over the line.

One of the huge issues I have with MS, apart from his refusal to make changes when they are needed is, he settles too easily - not going for the jugular when it’s there for the taking. What happened in the first half of the season? We played some really aggressive football and found ourselves top of the league because of it (and Nathan Lowe).
Sadler has been overly cautious since January that has cost us valuable points imho.
A point away from home against a decent side isn’t a bad result upon reflection, but there’s much improvement needed mainly from the manager.

Not specific to Walsall, but I feel when a manager gets the flack for being over cautious, it is often the players who should carry the can,or at least a fair part of it.

Caution sets in when things aren’t going too well, players lack confidence and therefore safe passes become tge fall back. It isn’t usually a manager telling them to be cautious, it is a sort of built in mechanism when the pressure is on.

Across the board, managers get the flack, when by and large it is the players

You would need a big overhaul if you make it up wouldn't you ? Watched that game last night and our one and look pretty dire reminds me a lot of when we had Hurst the style of football and he seems a similiar character ; the problem when you play like that is it's great when you are winning 'effective ' but when the losses start coming it gets battered by fans as it's not an easy watch

Tranmere Rovers (h) - squeaky bum time!

Still without Bobby Pointon, Antonio Sarcevic and Alex Pattison - amongst other long-terms absentees.

Massive game this following last week’s piss poor result. We had no game midweek for the first time in ages, so the lads should be fresh and raring to go. I look at Walsall’s drop in form and it worries me when we have a poor result. Hope we can start quickly tomorrow and score early on.

Tranmere are fighting for their league status, and appear rejuvenated following the sacking of Atkins. Decent draws against Grimsby and Vale - then beat Bromley at home last weekend. They’re more than capable of turning us over, we need not be complacent here.

We’re still unbeaten at home - winning our last 10.

2-1 City (Khela & Mellon)

You forgot the Donny result. Hope you are right about the rest. We have scored 48 league goals and the scorers of 29 of them are missing. We are without all 3 of our play makers so it is a good time to be playing us. It is no polnt feeling sorry for ourselves, the replacements will have to step up to the mark and claim the shirts.

I thought Tranmere looked alright against us they put a decent shift in and would probably have won if it wasn't for a daft penalty - it's difficult to tell now on our pitch though whos good and bad tbh so maybe not a fair comparison - hows Bradfords pitch these days ?

Yeah they put in a more than credible performance against Vale. One of their players Josh Hawkes who was previously frozen out has been brought back in and made the difference.

As for us it's the first of three home games where I'm not disrespecting the oppostion in any of them but three wins has to be the aim if not the expectation if we are to have any hope of autos. We weren't terrible Tuesday night but at the same time enough of some of the bad habits I've seen when Vale have previously had bad runs sneaking back in such as the lack of movement off the ball and the sideways and backwards nature of a lot of our play if the wingbacks couldn't do something.

My team if it was my call (I'm working on the premise Garrity though training won't be able to start):-

Amos
Sang Smith Hall
Clark Byers Walters John
Richards
Stockley Tolaj

Pitch is absolutely fine. Has been for years, bar last season when we were forced to play a game on SKY.

Not much subtle about Bromley but I do like the speed that they get the ball forward and into dangerous areas. Something I wish Darren Moore would learn from.

Bromley are as National league as it gets but I've been impressed at the go they've given league two this season. Brilliant first year for them and fatty Woodman.

Dark horses next season i reckon , get to league 1 or the play-offs and a big 1(bigger than Bromley) come in for him

Can't see that. More of the same I reckon. At the moment don't quite have enough class to mount any sort of push, and Michael Cheek who is really important to them will another year older. That's not to knock their effort at all though, mid table L2 is a huge achievement for Bromley

Apparently there are quite few Scotland based supporters travelling down to Carlisle tomorrow including my daughter and grandson. Here's hoping we put in a better performance than we did last time my daughter attended a Dons match. That was against Fleetwood a few weeks ago.

Us against Ches should be a decent game tomorrow. Always is really.

We bounced back well from a couple of horror shows with a really hard working performance at Grimsby, but realistically we are still likely going to be missing our difference-making attacking quality. Probably get half an hour out of McGoldrick. Puts loads of pressure on Whitaker who has potential but is completely erratic, either a constant threat to the opposition or ourselves depending on what way he’s put his boots on. Slocombe will also be playing, he did nothing wrong on Tuesday but…

I’d be very happy if we could just grind out another win like Tuesday night. Keep it tight and send in the old man to try and finish them off.

Really not confident about tomorrow's games. Our home record against Chesterfield is usually decent but I just have a bad feeling about tomorrow. Got a feeling a pasting is heading out way

I have that same bad feeling and tbh they certainly owe us one in recent times. Usually good entertaining games between the two my biggest concern is we are home. Never thought I'd be saying that before this season started. Being without Bass is a big loss, one of the best in the division surely, and if McGoldrick doesn't start we are pretty toothless.

My hope is after their recent wins they will have confidence and will attack us, which has been rarely seen at Meadow Lane from opposition, instead of sitting in a frustrating us which has worked too many times against us this season.

Biggest attendance of the season for us tomorrow. Tranmere one of the worst teams away. What could possibly go wrong.

They always seem to play well against us without ever getting the win over the line. Sooner or later I suppose, but it’ll be nice to have a proper home game cos we’ve had some right dross, low key shite since Christmas which to be quite honest has all been a bit of a chore.
