Be a good test of the new pitch and drainage tonight the way it's gonna be bouncing it down all day!

Not been an easy start to the season for us - Oxford, Wycombe, Bolton, now Rotherham and then Ipswich.

Bishop did well to get through as long as he did at the weekend after rolling his ankle in training so it wouldn't surprise me if had him on the bench ahead of Saturday. Maguire got a bit of game time against Cambridge and N'Lundulu was back on the bench as well so slowly but surely, we're getting players back.

Guessing we might see Jackson back in at CB tonight after being on the bench at the weekend.

Burton at home on Saturday. Lovely to have a home game after only 2 home games in all competitions so far this season. Tough one vs Burton though they battered us at our place last season, and look to be even stronger this year. Having watched there games vs Cheltenham and Bolton, they look very solid at the back. We looked much better vs Shrewsbury, Jneil Bennett and Kashket have give us more of a goal threat and Robertson in midfield looks a real player. We really could do with a win, but I'd probably take a draw if you give it me now.

Do we ever beat Rotherham? May just be me but always seem to get beat. At least Le Fondre isn't playing!

Our record is dreadful against you over the years but I am expecting a response from Saturday's defeat to Lincoln. Having said that I think it will be a draw. 0-0 or 1-1.

Last home league win was August 1999! We won there in 2019 and beat them here in the pizza cup the same season.

Heading up on the early train to Sheffield this weekend. Haven’t been this excited for an away day like this in some time. Cracking city to drink in with plenty of boozers and a ground I’ve never been to but always wanted to that’s steeped in history. Can’t wait!!

The game however, well… hopefully I’m too pissed by 3pm to even care. I’m certain we’re gonna lose and score no goals and pretty certain it’s going to be a hammering. There’s a high chance that we’ll be two leagues apart this time next year as we’re definitely going back down to League 2 (makes me want to call the Samaritan’s just thinking about heading back there) and Wednesday have a good chance of getting the play offs.

Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Salop (750 depressed Salopians)

That was defo a hard fought draw. Rotherham will wonder how theyve not won that. We somehow survived due to wayward finishing and some cracking stops from the keeper. Apart from a small spell after our equaliser, it was all Rotherham and last 20 were horrendous. So many chances. Would have settled for a point beforehand!

Rotherham were big, physical, direct and pressed us well and had the chances to get 3 points. We struggled to keep hold of the ball especially for the final 20 mins and fortunate to get a point. As was the case last season, we do struggle against the more experienced and physical teams.

Hillsborough is definitely an iconic ground and that's coming from a Miller.

Having said that, apart from the South Stand which is impressive, the rest of it is in a desperate state and Leppings Lane should be bulldozed.

The North Stand was great in its day but needs an upgrade.

The Kop has not been improved since they stuck a roof over it and put seats on the original steps

You will see on Saturday that the away stand has seen a lot better days, it's rusty and the facilities are archaic.

The capacity is far too big now even if Wednesday's crowds are really good for this level.
It needs 3 sides redeveloping or they need to move.

Having said that, I don't mind going because we win there..... quite a lot,
trouble is they nearly always win at our place.

The best and most successful Rotherham teams have all played this way.
Obviously I can't speak for all Rotherham fans, but most of us can't stand all this tippy tappy stuff.

Anybody can put dozens of passes together in their own half, passing it along the back line.

Notice we were well on top in all the stats last night but only had 47% possession and TBH that is high for us.

We like wingers and a big strong centre forward, we like to get it forward early and play our football in the oppositions half.
Attempts on goal are what excites fans, we aren't perfect and miss far too many chances but at least we have a go.

Thank you to Lincoln fans for your kind words, most generous.

Your number 11 was your stand out player! Ogbene i think. Quality on the right wing.

Out of the 3 teams we've played at home, your were definitely the most dangerous. Bolton spent most of the game passing the ball between their defence, Fleetwood came for a point.

Will be interesting against Ipswich on saturday

It was Ogbene's second game since getting carried of against Wednesday on 21st Aug.
He looks like he is getting back up to speed thankfully.
I think we need to be starting Grigg instead of Ladapo on Saturday, his movement is so much better.

Sunderland at home tis weekend and we certainly dont need to be intimidated by them. Nice run going at the moment , 4 undefeated and confidence will be good after last Saturday's fine win against the Millers
We actually have a good record against the former Bank of England club, only losing once in something like 6 and winning a couple. All that said its a toughie, a draw will be good, believe or not I will be a tad disappointed if we dont win !

Give me an old style Hillsborough stadium over a breeze block soulless stadium any day of the week and twice on a Sunday.

It won’t be easy but the way we are playing at the moment i fancy us against anybody, Burton omly team to beat us but we could of been 3 up before conceding in that game. however due to Grayson being in charge he will definitely not want to lose so i expect a hard game and after your display at Rotherham i wouldn’t be too disappointed with a draw but if we want top two we have to keep on winning. Accrington gave us a hard game so i’m under no illusions at how hard most games will be this season. We’ve yet to win down your ground to my knowledge so hopefully we can change that stat at the weekend but we’ll have to be at our best to get anything.
Some great match ups in the first weeks of this season and league one is seeing some high scoring games. Bolton banging in 5 away to Ipswich & playing great stuff as did lincoln on sat and wimbledon have been impressive thus far. It’s early days and things can change quickly though.

We need to find a way to create chances on Saturday. It may be time to give Miguel Azeez his first league start. If he's as good as Arsenal think he is then I'm not sure what we're waiting for. We've scored 4 goals in 6 games so far.

Each to one's own SVH but there won't be many Wednesday fans on here disputing much of what I wrote.
There's no malice in it, just the facts as I see them bearing in mind it's a stadium we visit regularly.

I am expecting a tougher game than last season whereby we came out the traps quickly.
would take a point right now.
got more back from injury hopefully - and hemmings hopefully fitter. He scored a hat trick last season in this game not that you probably need reminding.
I think this will be a tight game. You will be looking for that first win so I expect to have to defend well.

First time the majority of the squad have trained together this week hopefully it will make a difference to how we play and maybe we might just get something out of the game. Morecambe have started well and scored plenty but apparently only have one fit striker so might have a chance.

I think we'll lose on Saturday, just got a feeling about it. Accrington is our first away game this season at a smaller ground against a big side willing to get proper down and dirty to win, if that makes sense. Can see them shithousing a 2-1 or 1-0.

Away to Lincoln could be exactly the sort of fixture to light the torch paper should we get a result.

We must defend better though otherwise we will ship more than a couple.

You obviously have not seen much of Accrington then given your disingenuous comments. They play some good football and are no mugs at this level. If they beat you it’s because they are better than you.

Rotherham Saturday its a game that can go either way....Big units by all account and were unlucky to be relegated on that barmy last few mins in May.
By all accounts they are direct and dont mind giving the opposition the ball.
Think this could be another game where we have 70% possession but struggle to break them down....going 3-3 lol

I’m sure they do play good football compared to your park the bus rubbish under Jimmy.
