Cheers, I didn't quite see it as entertaining, particularly the second half, but interesting to hear your view. Felt like there were more than 375 of us there.
Game marred for me by the Stanno injury, can see him being out for the rest of the season and so that may be the last we've seen of him.
Marriott obviously a class act, but thought your wingers had pace and made our defence look slow.
But at the end of the day, another point and looking good for the mid table championship.
Mid table Champions, more coveted than any Champions League, forget City Real and others ! We actually have on paper a favourably run in against 3 of the bottom side's which means we'll probably struggle.....

Yeah, I bet, we're not great to watch either. Wasn't Matt Harrold your top scorer with 7 that season?

I can remember you coming to us one season, I'm pretty sure it was a Tuesday night and you played Neil Lennon, Gary Holt and Tommy Doherty as DM's and they didn't move from in front of your back four all game.
Soccerbase says Harrold got 9 in the league that season, but not far off.

We’ve typically never had prolific strikers (or if we do then they get poached) although I think Akinfenwa at his peak hit 20 in a season.

Your memory of a dull Tuesday night sounds painfully accurate, though that would have been under Paul Lambert. Who was indeed known to play not 3, but 4 defensive centre mids on occasion…good times.

What lines? The midfield was none existent second half! It’s the most angry I’ve been walking out of Vale Park for a long long time and that takes some doing with some of the shit we’ve endured down the years.

It’s a working class club, minimum, absolute minimum is work rate and effort, second home game in a row we didn’t fancy it and were on the beach. If we were safe I’d forgive that a little but we are far from it yet!

Interesting interview with DC after, he’s clearly apoplectic and gone nuts in there and rightly so. Told some of them they’ve “run their race” and he’s finally lost patience.

Nuts how we picked up 32 points, beat Derby and Plymouth away, won as many as we lost and looked a very decent side first half of the season yet look a mess since and only 13 points second half of the season. That said we play like we did last week we win today, we are so up and down performance wise and at home for whatever reason we’ve completely downed tools.

That today was cowardly.
agree with that, this was a performance on par with some of the disgraceful bottom of league two hopeless ones but at least we knew we had a fucking terrible squad then!

i know this shocking run started when we were without all of our strikers. then we get them back and instantly lose most of our centre backs to injury as well as Garrity...what a miss he is by the way. I love him and I can't believe more vale fans aren't recognising how shit we are without him after listening to ale and vale he only got a passing comment!

no sour grapes here, cambridge were BY FAR the best team yesterday, but they weren't good. They didn't batter us for 90 minutes. in fact for a good 50 odd mins there was nothing in it, and we still found a way to capitulate and really could have lost by 4 or 5 in the end. Cambridge looked really good for 25 minute spell starting with the two goals and then sat back knowing that we wouldn't score in a month of sundays.

Had Ojo scored, who knows, but we're in a crisis and will be saved by our form in the first half of the season only. We've gone from the start of the year thinking the summer will be a perfect chance to improve the squad to now thinking we need some serious work to go into the summer to have a chance of staying up next year. these ruts are difficult to get out of.

worrying times and another completely unacceptable, frankly pathetic performance at home.

Just seen the Smithy incident with their number 14 back that has been put on twitter, looked naughty at the time but doesn't look great on the replay. Maybe yet another retrospective ban from Smith taking one! Problem we have now is referee's see its Smith involved and don't give the decisions!

Its a huge debate on OVF after Saturday, some are "we are safe these sides wont hit promotion form below us" to we need 5 more points and cant see where a point is coming from.

Bizarrely we are not even in the bottom 8 for form over the last 6 games which is nuts because we feel like we've been absolutely garbage.

We will see, I would like to think we wont lost our last 8 on the spin which in itself would be a record for recent decades but you never know, i felt flat after Burton, felt like we'd cruise to safety after Portsmouth and feel like doom after the weekend. We are somewhat inconsistent in terms of performances.

We've been safe for a while to be honest but it doesn't mean that some of our performances can't be called out for being unacceptable. Burton and Cambridge being 2 very low points.

We just need the season to end, clear out those players who are clearly nowhere near this level or who are always injured and then reset, otherwise we take this form into next season...
