We've had Norris pull off some late late saves this season. Bazunu was the same when he was on loan here. When we started hitting the post I knew it was going to be one of those days. We've all been to games where we've pumelled the opposition goals and not scored 3 or 4 and ended up a draw or a loss. Would have been a devistating if Morrell hadn't got across and slid the ball from Dobson near the end. If we want to go up automatically we need to be abit calmer in the last 10-15 minutes of games. Its definately been our downfall. Reading away, well in control until the last 15, Norris pulls off 2 saves, and Reading's keeper volleys wide from 10 yards out. Hopefully once we get Pack back we can at least have abit more steal and composure on the bench to bring on
I'm worried about our injury list. Pack,Poole,Tino and several others all long time out.

Yes Norris defo didn't do himself any favours yesterday. How he let your second equaliser in I'll never know.

I thought it was a great advert for div 1. You got to admit we should have been a couple of goals up when u equalised at the end though.

Worrying for us is we've lost Poole for the rest of the season. So many injuries I hope it don't derail our season.

I reckon Charlton will creep into the play-offs.

I was in the South stand next to charlton fans. Great following but you don't always win at FP :)

Yeah, absolutely we were fortunate to still be in the game, Maynard-Brewer kept us in it despite the rush of blood to the head to give the penalty away.

We need to improve our consistency if we’re to make the play-offs but I do think we’ll end up going close.

I’d be surprised if there’s two better teams than Portsmouth come the end of the season but it still is really early days.

No, but we do never lose at Fratton Park ;)

Bit late to this but agree with YEO YEO YEO, a very weird second half from Vale. The played like they had a man disadvantage rather than it being 10 vs 10. I think they managed one(?) shot and didn't even get a corner or anything that I can recall.

How we're 9th I've got no idea, we haven't played well since August or even looked like scoring goals really. If we had some semblance of an attacking unti available since August we'd probably been tucked in the PO's. A testament to the weakness of L1 this year.

Lincoln always historically a difficult team to play against but if anybody else would have played you on Saturday you would have been beaten comfortably.

As with previous games, we look great between the boxes, amongst the best in the division. We get compliments week after week. The trouble is we only have maximum one goal a game in us, there's no aggression or ruthlessness when on top....the game should have been over at half time.

We then can only sustain it for 45 minutes or so and then completely drop off (fitness??). We're also always liable for a soft goal or two. It's so frustrating because we're a couple of players short of being a really good team but a team that concedes too easily and doesn't score is only going one way.

Oddly when we did score 2 we lost in terms of a league game!

I am not overly concerned defensively as the Barnsley result skews it wildly and we are not shipping 3 a game like post January last season, but we are a goalscorer short... we are miles better than last season so is bonkers we are in this situation but haven't addressed a major shortfall.

Not sure the answer though, formation? but then we did that against Cheltenham and we were awful (all be it without key players in midfield).

Reminds me of 2000/01 when we were like this first half of the season, losing games but playing well, lacking goals... luckily then Steve Brooker signed and we went 1 loss in 23, won the LDV and probably played similar good football to now... we need to find a Stevie Brooker!
